Hi, My name is Andy and I have been a hosting people for many years now. If you are looking for something different then please have a read of my profile.

I appreciate spending my time with people who want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who care about others and want to learn more about themselves. I have learnt a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues.

I consider myself a well-educated person and believe that life is a continual learning experience, I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good film, writing, and watching documentaries. I am interested in current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy and technology. I have a good sense of humour, I like to share a joke and tell a story. I like to laugh and of course to have as much fun as life allows me. I run my own business and I mostly work based from home.

I live here with my partner Joe and we have been together f... more inside

Hi
we have now acquired a 37' blue water boat with more covered accommodation
much more comfortable for an extended voyage but perhaps not quite as exciting as Zulu!
We will be launching her on the 31st July
Sailing Her from Porthmadog ( North Wales ) to Bude ( North Cornwall ) as soon as there is an appropriate weather window
Once at Bude we will spend a month commissioning Her for a voyage to Portugal ( Alvor )
The plan is to leave Bude around the 26th August and sail to the Scilly Islands and wait for a weather window to sail across the Bay of biscay straight to the North West tip of Spain then onwards to Oporto Portugal) stay there for a few days then Continue around Portugal to Alvor
Crossing the Bay of Biscay should take four to seven days during which we will be well off shore and out of sight of land (which may not be for the faint hearted ) obviously great care will be taken to ensure an easy comfortable passage but it still is not a voyage to undertake ... more inside

We run a small yurt camp site, with 4 Yurts and a Shepherd`s Hut. We really enjoyed welcoming 3 HelpX people in 2018 and are now looking for a helper who can help us put the yurts to bed at the end of the season, from mid-September for about 4 weeks. We aim to clean and re-waterproof each yurt before packing it away for the winter and during this period we also have some painting work to do (inside and outside our renovated barn) and landscaping work to do in the meadow, around the garden and maintaining the farm buildings. We can help if you want to learn more about basic carpentry and painting skills, and landscaping/gardening for wildlife.
We're a "Green" environmentally award winning site, running for 9 years and we also have a "green" approach to our house, with solar pv and solar panels for hot water, as well as a wood pellet boiler. Whilst not registered organic, we have an organic sensibility and don`t use any chemicals on the land or on site.
We (Kim and Nick) live... more inside

UPDATES-IMPORTANT:

We cannot take more than 3 helpers, but here you can check when the next ones are leaving so you can apply for those positions:
- 2 from the last week of August

* Ideally minimum stay 4 weeks.
* We don't plan too far ahead as all depends on how long the current helpers are staying or extending but you can try

+++ At the moment the help required is very easy: Basically 3-4h cleaning in the morning since we have 2 managers doing morning/evening shifts for the welcomings apart from 3pm till 6.30pm that both managers are busy and 1 helper should be around, or when managers have days off.

** Looking for a couple to help out during the last part of August and in September **

Hello, we are Jane and Dave. We live in a small village in rural Lincolnshire in the East of England where we keep bees, chickens and pigs, and a lovely cat and grow fruit and vegetables in our large garden.

Weve travelled a lot ourselves, so its great to welcome people from around the world into our own home. We get the benefit of all the help with the animals, the garden and our various projects and enjoy the company of so many interesting people. We particularly want to hear from people with specific skills such as a real knowledge of gardening, carpentry or construction work.

This is a home stay, you live as part of the family, and it is really important for us to know that we will all get on well together. Part of living as a family involves helping with ordinary household chores in addition to the 'work' that you do - simple things like washing up, hanging out the laundry, helpi... more inside

I have an odd vacancy here and there but mostly from September 2019 onwards.

However, I am a strictly non smoking place both inside and out. Smokers including those who vape, will be asked to leave.

Can you speak English, do you like animals and working outdoors?

I ask for about 5 hours a day and am in The South West of England a lovely area in the country close to Dartmoor National Park and also the Devon/Cornwall border. very scenic close to great walking country. 2 kilometres away there is a huge supermarket which sells everything from food to washing machines, it is open 24 hours.

Help is needed for ongoing gardening work and also looking after two cats and a dog.

The garden here is very large and it is open to the public to raise funds for charity (a local hospice) it is in need of year round maintenance which can be heavy and often dirty work.

The animals here also need attention but do not take as much time to see to as the garden so if you don`t like... more inside
