Hi, my name is Andy. I have been hosting and mentoring people for many years now, I have been lucky as during this time I have made some great friends and have gained some great memories. I continue to welcome people here from various backgrounds and places. If you are looking for something different then please continue reading.

I am a liberal person who appreciates spending my time with people with a similar outlook on life, people who want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. People who care about others and want to learn more about themselves. I consider myself a well-educated person and believe that life is a continual learning experience, I have learnt a lot from my time hosting people and so the journey continues :-)

I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good film, writing, watching documentaries, current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy, reading and anything technical. I have a good sense of humour, I... more inside

I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I have built a straw bale house in my garden, I keep bees and run a Community Orchard. I am looking for a native Spanish speaker with a good accent to speak Spanish to my grandchildren, who live down the road from me. They are 2 and 5. I will also like some help around the house and garden, to be arranged for mutual convenience.
In return I will help the volunteer to improve their English, I have a good clear accent. The volunteer will live as my family and we will have a great time .

At the moment I have no spaces until September.

MGWe also have a seaside apartmen very close to a surfing beach, which you can see in the photos. The first two photos show our Wakefield garden. The dog belongs to my daughter but does spend lots of time with us.

The photos at the end are of the volunteers bedroom and bathroom.

Do you have gardening or shed building skills?

Would you enjoy building raised beds and setting up an organic garden for a disabled lady?

Or would you enjoy helping put together a wooden studio for her to do her creative work?

Would you like to stay in one of the coolest, most creative and vibrant areas of London in July and August 2018?

THEN WE NEED YOU!

I am a lively, 55 year "young" disabled lady. In early Summer some wonderful HelpX volunteers helped me lay a tile floor and organise my house. Over the last month, a fantastic couple came and levelled my garden level so I can get to it in my wheelchair!

I now need someone to help build some raised beds and get planting so I can start to grow my own food. I also need someone who is good with a hammer to help to help construct a wooden summer house (which is arriving 25th July)

So if you are free from now until 28th July, or from 5th August, message me now!

I have a degenerative muscle condition tha... more inside

Helloooo helpers!! We (Glen, Steve and grown up daughter Holly) live in the beautiful Fens in rural Cambridgeshire. Have you got 3-6 weeks(longer if you want) to spare ? We would like helpers in 2s if possible. We can give loads of help with English.
We need 2 kinds of helper, one who loves animals to help with ponies, goats, dogs. And one who has an interest in building. We are working on converting a tin barn to a small living/working space(see plan in pictures). The barn stands in a small piece of land just down the road from our main house. We need some help with our small cob Bart who is being broken to drive. We have dogs, goats and cats too. We mostly need help with building skills which we are learning as we go along and some help with the animals. Some gardening and general maintenance would be useful.
I am looking for flexible hard working friends to join me on this exciting project. The work will be approx 5 hours day, with two days off a week. You will need to be phy... more inside

*** We need somebody from late August/early September for at least 4 weeks, preferably longer ***

Join our lovely team. Make new friends. Discover Edinburgh.

We are a friendly and vibrant little hostel right on the historical Royal Mile in the very centre of Scotland`s stunning and lively capital city. We`re one of the smallest but also cosiest and friendliest hostels in town. And we`re smack bang in the middle of all the sights and our favourite bars are 5 around minutes walk away (some even less).
I think we would describe ourselves as a relaxed, cosy kind of bunch rather than a crazy party hostel. Nights with wine and banter in front of the fire place are among our favourite. But there are also have weekly events in cooperation with our bigger sister hostels like Ceilidh (Scottish dance), Pub Crawl and Ghost tours.

We`re looking for someone who likes to be around people from all over the world and wants to help us keep our wee hostel clean and tidy. A friendly atmosph... more inside

Hello prospective HelpXers

We are now booked until mid September. If you are available from then until late October - please email.

The work is mainly on the farm, which is simple work of feeding and watering the animals and chickens (plus the ducks) and milking two of our goats.....

If the weather is good (and not too hot) there are outside jobs of gardening and landscaping the kitchen garden.

In exchange for all of this we will supply good food, a lot of conversation and a good sprinkling of laughter!

So if you are interested in what I have written above, please let me know as soon as possible as we need to fill our vacancy.

Please read.....

We do like our helpers to stay 3 weeks (or more) - This is because we have a lot to teach new helpers and this takes time. The first 3 - 4 days we would be working with you and then you would need 2 days off, so that is the first week gone....

**WARM** clothes (even in summer it can be cold here)- workin... more inside

Hi, we are looking for helpers for 2018 we run a small sheep farm and a busy little b&b in the the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park.We joined up to meet, learn from and exchange ideas with people from all over the world and have had many fantastic helpers over the last few years and hope to have many more. We host up to 2 people at a time but not friends or couples and people with different first languages so they have to speak English more and improve quicker. Also been a helper in Poland twice and had a great time.
