Dear friends,

You are welcome to Finland to the small hostel located in the forest.
We organise programme for children, language and thematic camps for which we would like to invite native and non-native English and Finnish speakers.
The camps we organise are directed mainly on children from Russia.

Next camps are
2 - 9 January 2019 - Adventure camp
23 - 31 March 2019 - Prof Academy
Summer camp 2019 since mid of June till end of August, 5 camps

During camps there is a lot of work like cooking, cleaning, working with children, teaching, etc. Usually there is not so much free time during camps. Days off we usually have after camp. Anyway, we are flexible and we can agree other timetable too.

Camp life is fiscally active, enjoyable and positive. Together with kids you will experience success and become more confident, develop long-life skills, reconnect with nature and find new friends.

Besides camps in summer we accept helpers for general maintenance work, g... more inside

Looking for people to help us with our very nice sled dogs.
If you are interested in learning about the huskies, their maintaining and working together you might be the right person.
It is not neccesary to have experience with sled dogs but a right attitude. We want our animals to feel loved and correctly handeled. There are many rules in a dog farm and that is important to agree and understand.

We are happy to teach but this is not the most typical "holiday" as the work can be little hard sometimes and you really need to put your hands in to dirt.

Convince us why you would be the right person. Tell us what are you looking for with this experience.

We can offer great experience, learning about huskies, very ecological life in place without electricity (no shower) little cabin to stay in (might be shared), sauna for washing, great activities and if you are lucky also the Northern lights. Can be difficult to be strict vegetarian as conditions are hard and there is not... more inside

We run an internship program for people interested in working with huskies in a semi-professional capacity. In other words, we don`t just take people as volunteers and expect them to poop. Rather, we have a systematic training system in place which is an extension of the system in place for paying clients who want to participate in the husky lifestyle for short periods of time.

Interns learn about and participate in the daily and weekly tasks that need to be completed on the farm. The first week is a bit of a baptism of fire guided by a daily mentor in which there is complete immersion into every aspect of life here.

The degree to which people can participate in the range of roles available on the farm depends on the length of their stay, their expertise coming in, and the level of interest in the various roles.

Duties change with the seasons from one-on-one dog training and construction / maintenance work in the summer, to dog-conditioning and safari prepara... more inside

If you are practical with good hand skills, and enjoy the sense of freedom wide wild open spaces give, this could be the place for you :o)

We are further north than Anchorage, Alaska, and further east than Istanbul, Turkey. Clean waters, pure air and endless forests and waterways to explore. On the Finnish border with Russia. White nights in the summer and northern lights in the winter. It is extremely quiet up here in a fairly isolated village.

Hello!

I live in Uusi-värtsilä, a little village in Tohmajärvi, North-Karelia, close to the Russian border. Here can be found forests, bogs, remains of stone-age villages, spring water lakes, rivers, wild animals, clean air and interesting people. Perfect!

By profession I'm a masseur / artisan. I live in a old house that previously housed several families. There is no running water or electricity in the house. Outdoor dry toilet, sauna. The house is slowly restored a bit here and there. The garden is slowly getting more fruit trees, and other edible perennial plants.
There is a few dome greenhouses in the garden and more is being built next summer.

I have a little workshop where I make bentwood furniture and wooden handicrafts. I invite helpers to share the costless joy of gardening, planting, handicrafts, yoga, making tinctures, cooking, baking tree bark bread, picking berries, mushrooms, picking wild edible plants, making natural balms, and so much more. I think the w... more inside

This is a permaculture learning center and an eco-village to be starting from the scratch. Sharing life and knowledge.
From May to September we are prepared to host 3-4 hardcore volunteers used to camping conditions. Basic skill needed: handling an ax and a bill, (preferably a chainsaw too), starting a fire in the oven. Minimum stay 1 months. (Shorter visits possible on special request for serious permaculture people only!) we host volunteers, but due to our past experiences do NOT arrange internships for students. If you are enthusiastic about living in the nature, permaculture, sustainable cultural heritage, natural- and traditional building, sociocracy, talking circles, singing and jamming together, edible and medical herbs, forest garden, fermenting, terra preta... this is your chance! We start by building terra preta urinals, compost toilets, temporary sauna by the lake, cellars, outdoor kitchen, greenhouses, lean-to shelters in the forest and by the lake. This is an old farm ... more inside

Hello, my name is Mikko. I live in Rovaniemi in a nice and quiet neigborhood, 6km from the center. There is a forest and a frisbee golf court near my home.
I´m a creative person and I like to express myself through writting and performance art. I have published four books so far, and I would like to translate them to different languages as a way of reaching a wider audience. If you would like to help me with the translation, you could start by translating one of my poems to your own language:

Wake Me Up From The Fear

I make a notation of my essence
Glee rich in minor
Melancholy is moaning
That it didn’t get even today
The sorrow waits
It’s own turn
The emotions are competing
Of their unravel
I deny them
From hurting you
And I make the keyboard
A bunching bag for my fingers

If you are interested in performance art, we could do a project together. At last, If you enjoy doing marketing and PR, I could use some help with the advertisement of my books.
Y... more inside
