Welcome to CoCreative Urban Farm!

We are 2 passionate gardeners (and kids) who have developed a small paradise near the Rocky Mountains in a little town called Turner Valley.  The town is within walking distance to our house, even though we live on an acreage. We have large veggie gardens, fruit orchard, food forest, rabbits, chickens, rainwater collection, a greenhouse etc. We have built our own (eco) house over the last 2 years. We are happy to share our knowledge with keen learners. Barb is a teacher, so loves to share her knowledge about Horticulture, Permaculture and raising animals. Hendrik is a builder and loves to share his knowledge about building.

Our home is your home while you are travelling. Barb and Hendrik have both lived in Intentional Communities while in Australia, and both of us have been WWOOFers in many countries.

We know how helpers want to be treated since we have both had good and bad experiences as wwoofers! We will feed you well and teach you what... more inside

We are a Warmblood horse breeding and training family farm. One of our goals is to produce top quality horses for international competition in jumping, dressage and three day events. Our main farming activities include feeding, training, breeding and caring for our herd of 150 horses. To view current pictures of our horses life here, go to our Touchstone Farm Facebook page.

We have chosen to be as close to nature as we can and build as naturally as possible. We are therefore a rustic facility. We have a small portable saw mill for sawing our own wood. We are endeavoring to organically produce some of our own food. To this aim, we also have a few goats, chickens, a cow and calves and a garden. When there is enough milk production, we make yogurt and cheese.

We need help year round with the livestock, training and caring for the horses, pasture management, fencing, landscaping, gardening, meal preparation, housekeeping, building construction and repairs, cutting lumber and fi... more inside

My tree nursery is located 120km west of Edmonton and only a 2.5 hour drive away from famous Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains.
We need help with stapling, tying and crimping the trees we dug, digging and planting seedlings, caring for the trees in our nursery and you might help with tree planting and landscaping jobs all over Alberta. In spring we sometimes go as far as BC to dig trees. Tree care means pruning, fertilizing, parasite and weed control. Working here also includes renovating and building projects, i.e. fencing, painting or carpentry. There are a beautifully landscaped yard and rock gardens to look after and some fruit picking in summer. One of our helpers is usually in charge of the daily horse chores. As we are all living together we share the household work. The tree business is seasonal - weather permitting we might start as early as the end of March and work until the end of November.
In winter and occasionally if there is time for it in summer we ... more inside

Welcome to our 5 acres of paradise just minutes outside of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada!

Oh, what a wonderfully warm summer we've been having! As we start to consider the harvest and final watering before the frost is here there are no shortage of jobs of all shapes and sizes. We are currently looking for a carpenter so If you are a hard working and ambituous person please check us out! :-)

We also have a number of motorized things (lawn mower, dirt bikes, chainsaws) on the property that need some maintenance so someone with small engine skills would be a definite asset!

We have been featured on 'The Verge Permaculture Grad Series' where we gave a tour of our farm. See video below.

We are currently re-designing our 5 acres in order to build it into a Permaculture Demonstration Farm. We are working towards the goal of producing all of our own energy, and growing (most of) our own food for a family of 6 people, and then showing other people how to do it fo... more inside

We are a small warmblood horse breeding operation located in north central Alberta. We are one hour west of West Edmonton Mall and Edmonton, and 3 hours to Jasper national park. We are non smoking, occasional social drinking. We have two extremely spoiled, small house dogs. And one very large one. We grow our own hay and grain.. We own approx. 14 horses.. some we drive, others we ride, others are broodmares.. Our daughter does equine sports therapy, if this interests you, you may be able to help her.

Depending on your horse experience, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to ride horses. Lots of times we only have young ones that are just being trained. but you will get alot of horse time..

Extra tasks could be lawn maintenance, tack cleaning, possibly helping harvest, handling horses, depending on experience this could be riding or driving or just helping with mares and foals and helping prepare them for inspections. We are in a small town, ap... more inside

This wilderness backpackers hostel is located 32km South of Jasper on the Icefields Parkway. The hostel is situated in a forest about 0.5km from the impressive and powerful Athabasca River Waterfalls and surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains in the world, the Rocky Mountains.

This is a wilderness hostel comprised of 5 beautiful cedar log cabins, the hostel is pretty cool! It`s important to know that this hostel is in the wilderness, so good clothing and good shoes or boots are necessary. A strong interest in hiking and the wilderness isn`t absolutely necessary but it will make your time more enjoyable. There is world class hiking in the area, swimming and cliff jumping in a nearby lake and lots of wildlife (bears, wolves, cougars, elk and more...!).

The hostel has 2 private rooms and 2 coed dormitories. The kitchen is in a very large cabin that also has a lounge. The kitchen/lounge cabin is open 24 hours. Did I mention it`s a great kitchen? It`s very goo... more inside

Looking for animal lovers and responsible helpers!!!

Located approx. 1 hour north of Calgary, set in the rolling hills of Kneehill county in the shadows of the Rockies. The nearest airport is Calgary and the nearest Greyhound is Olds, Airdrie, Drumheller or Red Deer.

We are looking for helpers to help develop our new (if not rather old 95yo) house, to help work and train our 5 horses, and to experience first hand the Canadian way of life.

Recent Horse experience is a MUST as there will be some (if not a lot of) riding involved, and we don`t have the time to train beginner riders. Helmet and boots must be worn when riding.

Training and caring for our horses involves working with young and/or advanced horses trained in Western and/oe English.

Experience in renovations is not required as you will learn to use a whole range of power tools and skills during your stay, but enthusiasm and motivation are.

Love of animals is a must as we have 6 cats... more inside

We are looking for helpers who can stay at least three weeks at a time from July to early September. We are located 30 minutes west of Calgary in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We have horses and would like to find helpers with horse experience who will help with daily chores and schooling horses.. We are active in combined driving and drive pairs of Welsh ponies, Morgan crosses and Shires. We also ride ( English) and are lucky to have access to miles of forestry trails. We are looking for helpers who like to work and be around horses. We plan a busy, horsey summer and need to get and keep our horses fit. Days here involve riding and training horses, general barn work and some yard work. It`s fun for the person who loves and understands horses. As much riding as you want. You will also help us with driving our horses. Peace and quiet guaranteed. Ideally our helpers will also help with meals from time to time.
