Greetings,

We have a fun and eclectic guesthouse directly on the beach in Santa Marianita. We are located 20 minutes south of Manta. Santa Marianita beach is long, sandy and safe to walk day or night. This is not a party beach and is quiet on weekdays. Weekends and holidays can be noisy. It is well known for kite surfing.

Our volunteers are asked to help 5 hours, 5 days per week with two days each week off to explore and enjoy this wonderful area in Ecuador. We prefer a commitment of one month or longer for the right people. Sometimes we do take less time. We are looking for construction/handymen and artists. Misc. Duties include cleaning, caring for cats and dogs, helping with maintenance, painting or crafts for future gallery We have several on site cats and dogs who need not only care but love.
We are seeking mature, outgoing, energetic, low drama and drug-free volunteers. Our volunteers along with the company of our rescue cats and dogs make this place what i... more inside

We are looking for volunteers in our backpackers hostel to be part of the family for a while. Meeting new people? Practice or learn Spanish? Knowing different cultures? Surf? This is the right place for you.

We are always looking for nice, enthusiastic people to become part of the community. We believe a minimum stay of at least month is necessary to really embrace the experience of our surf hostel.

We are 3 minutes to Ayampe, 25 minutes north of Montañita and 15 minutes south of Puerto Lopez. We have 6 bungalows in a cozy atmosphere. This exchange is for help with land maintenance on a small rural homestead. Weeding and weed-whacking, permaculture and gardening projects (building trellises, raised garden beds, terracing, water-works, building new paths, and open to new ideas), occasional harvesting, picking and processing coffee beans, composting, pest-control, planting, mulching, watering, landscaping, eco-construction and some manual labor such as digging, rock-work, etc. Temperatures are comfortable year-round. We are startíng a small guest house complex directly on the beach in Engabao, a fishing and surfing town located 15 km from Playas and 1 hour from Guayaquil. The guesthouse consists of furnished 1 and 2 bedroom suites with completely equipped kitchens, hot water and DirectTV. There is a pool and gazebo overlooking the ocean. At present help is mainly needed with construction, painting, landscaping and out door cleaning, while from Dec. to May there may be housekeeping, attending guests, and caring for plants. Helpers work for 4 hours a day with 2 days off midweek and live in one of the suites. They are responsible for preparing their own meals. There's plenty of time for lounging around the pool, enjoying the beach or surfing. We need people who can work without supervision and enjoy nature. We are on a beautiful out of the way beach which generally has tourists only on holidays.

CLOSED FOR THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

This place is dedicated to trainings in the Taoist internal arts. Steve is a qigong master who was a long time student of a very powerful and advanced qigong master (Taoist wizard) who was also Bruce Lee's uncle and main kung fu teacher. The two main goals here are to grow enough food to be self sustainable, and to have a retreat where students can come and learn various aspects of chi kung and meditation. Qigong, chi kung (Taoist yoga), which has a lot of soft flowing movement, similar to tai chi. Steve is also an expert in tai chi and the self defense methods of the Taoist internal martial arts.

We are starting on a permaculture food forest in the Andes mountains of Southern Ecuador. We are close to the crest of the mighty Andes mountain range, and near to the Podacarpus National Park, which has more biodiversity than any other place on Earth. All the neighbors are far down the mountain and can neither be seen nor heard. It has been found... more inside

Hello! We are Charlotte (USA) and Christian (Ecuador), and we have an Ecoculturual Finca outside of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, Ecuador. The Finca is about 8 hectares of hilly jungle, filled with cacao, banana, avocado, papaya, coffee, bamboo, sugar cane, and other tropical fruit trees. Christian started this project in 2012 to create a community of people who want to live consciously and in harmony with the natural world. We believe sustainability has an environmental component (we eat vegetarian, use composting toilets, minimize waste, use resources we have on the finca, etc), but that it also has a cultural component; infusing art, cultural exchange, genuine connection, music, intergenerational sharing, and creative problem solving into daily life is important to living sustainably! The hope is that by starting small, by living well on the finca, we can spread an environmental consciousness to our surrounding community, and hopefully beyond.
