We are a family of five living on a communally shared block of regenerating bush land in the Northern Coromandel. We live near wild pristine beaches and have clean streams and waterfalls within walking distance of our home. We are building our dwelling from local timber, earth and stone and have ongoing building projects to help with. We grow organic veges if you are into gardening, planting trees or playing football with the children so we can work on the property!
We strive to be resilient as a community, living off grid - looking after our own water supplies, solar power, composting toilets etc. Summers are busy here, winter pretty quiet with potluck dinners and potholing the 3km gravel driveway our main communal activity!

Hi there,
We own a small farm with a few dry stock, free range chickens and ducks and we grow a lot of fruit e.g. oranges, mandarins and plums as well as our own vegetables. We are almost self sufficient and try to grow our food as organically as possible. There is always heaps to do. We are looking for help with some projects in the garden and vegetable area.
We offer comfortable accommodation and good food for some hours of work. Our helper should like animals, be not too young and stay about a week. We can pick up from Thames or Paeroa bus station if needed. We are located 1 hour from the most beautiful beaches and close to great activities such as the Karangahake Gorge and the Pinnacles.
Please contact us for further details.
(The small house on the picture is the sleep out.)

Our retreat centre is a flourishing sanctuary where we celebrate life, nurture the human spirit and encourage personal responsibility through stewardship of the natural environment. We provide opportunities for the deepening of well-being through connection with self, community and nature, and a safe haven for native flora and fauna. We offer this sanctuary for the benefit of generations to come. This is a purpose-built retreat centre sitting on 344 hectares of native bush in the Coromandel Peninsula of the North Island of New Zealand. We host a variety of community events and a program of retreats and residential courses. Over the last 20 years this has included Insight Meditation retreats, Yoga retreats, Dances of Universal Peace gatherings, personal and professional development groups, seasonal celebrations and womenís gatherings.

Volunteers and Service Teams are a vital part of the running of this place.

We welcome the energy, enthusiasm and contribution of volunteers and ... more inside

Hi Folks,
I and my new puppy "Sparrows", 8 ducks and a few goldfish, are living in a great little place, halfway up a hill with bush and water views. The Tui's (native bird with a amazing song) can wake you early, but having breakfast on the deck is a great compensation :).
I would like folks aged over 25 please and it would be best if you have a car, as I live about 10 minutes out of Thames up the coast.
I am needing some help with the orchard, pruning and weeding, also the vegie garden and some building projects.
I think i am pretty flexiable around your needs and my needs. I like cooking but would love to have an exchange with you.
PLEASE NO SMOKERS.
Cheers Victoria

Amazing view at Hot Water Beach. In exchange for staying at our famous Hot Water Beach where you can enjoy a hot spa on the beach whilst staying in our home. We need responsible, enthusiastic helpers with practical rural Experience. Most of our property is in native bush with landscaped gardens and a large vegetable garden.
The tasks that we need help with vary between the vegetable garden/bush work and general maintenance.
We would prefer a couple (25+) who are committed to helping us in return for staying in this amazing part of the world. You can check out the property on bookabach. We expect that our helpers are non smokers. We have a friendly cat and dog. You will need your own transport as there is no public transport.

I live on a beautiful property on the side of a mountain overlooking the sea adjacent to Mana Retreat Centre[see mana retreat.com] south of Coromandel town near Manaia.

I am a teacher and therapist. You can see something about me via my website link above. I have very basic french and spanish and am always interested in improving those languages or helping Spanish or French speakers with English.

I am a tai chi and yoga/ meditation teacher and therapist and can share this as it fits. Also my place is vegetarian only.

I prefer mature, independent longer term helpx volunteers who enjoy physical work. primary tasks are gardening, lawn mowing, looking after trees and grounds, house and pool cleaning.
Usually I don't take anyone for less than 4 weeks but at times I have a short project so it is ok to ask even if you have less time to come.

At the moment my two areas of interest for helpx are - getting help with re-building my website and some small building renovation jobs... more inside
