We are currently looking for two people. (Dates required are from the 17th-27th of April, or as many days as you can offer during those dates). Specifically we will need help with our annual garlic cracking session. This entails sitting with the group of us in our home shed breaking open garlic bulbs to expose the cloves inside. The cloves are taken away from the core and places into three grades. Pretty basic work but will need resemley strong hands. There may be some other odd jobs from the follow lists below to break up your day from sitting if you were doing a long day to enable a couple of days off for travel.
:-).. if this sounds like a bit of you then by all means, read on.

We are two couples Tony and Lisa with two preschool children who grow produce for the local farmers market and then there is Terry and Maggie who have the available accommodation and live a 1 minute drive away. The help needed will be shared between these two families. The general help activities me... more inside

We have here what I hope is a great place for travellers to visit, experience and relax. We have a few projects on the go with planting in spring and a fleet of vans/caravans being renovated, along with other maintenance and hands on jobs for those that wish to help around the place for their keep. At times I am able to find paid work for those with work visas through several contacts, and for those that utilise this they are able to stay on at our place paying a minimal rent of $140 week which includes all food, internet, etc etc. Some travellors have stayed for months.

We try to create a great friendly environment for people to socialise. I spent over 8yrs travelling myself and the hope of this place, was to offer like minded people a base where on the other side of the world they may still be able to call it home, as I had the opportunity to do in several countries. Many friendships and travel companions have been formed here and my son and I hope that one day we will meet... more inside

Welcome!

LESS THAN 1 WEEK TO GO!!! Helpers needed...:

Our background is international (CH-IE-NZ-IL); we have hosted international students, exchange students, friends, family and friends of friends of friends from around the world. Our house has 5 bedrooms, and also plenty of space in the garden to put up a tent - in warm weather only!

I am packing up, and need lots of help
The kitchen project (see below) is being put on hold until May
But REALLY need some gardening and packing help!

Life is about to change; I am downsizing from our 5-bedroom house to a... Container Home! Still in the design process, I do need some help with a kitchen which only has the bones and the doors. The most important attribute that I am looking for in a Helper is one with some (a lot would be perfect!) woodworking and other building experience.

I also would like to start a blog to record my journey and hopefully help others who are planning a similar lifest... more inside

HI there
we live by the beautiful surf breaks of Whale and Manu Bay, 5 mins walk to the surf. Our property backs onto the bush reserve of Karioi Mountain, from our backdoor you can access bush tracks that will take you to the top of Raglans extinct volcano, and offer a view up the North Island coastline.

Our property is a backyard sustainable oasis based on permaculture principles. We have gardens, fruit trees, chickens and ducks. We raise seedlings, make compost, plant gardens, dry herbs, preserve food, care for our animals and enjoy nature at our backdoor. We are vegetarian and eat whole unprocessed food.
Our three children are home schooled and enjoy surfing, skating, horse riding, mountain biking and snow boarding (lucky them eh!)

Tasks at this time are based on the garden and helping around the home. It's time for planting, mulching and weeding. Also in the house some cleaning and food preserving. Please don't contact unless you are physically capable of doing gar... more inside
