Hi from sunny Marlborough. Our family involvement with this farm began in 1905 when the original station was divided up into smaller farms and the settlement of Ward was established.
Ward is 30 minutes South of Blenheim and an hour from Kaikoura to the South.
If you come to stay and work with us you will be treated as a team member in a family farm environment. The farm has many parts to it and differing accommodation options at varying times. Traditionally the farm is Sheep and Beef but also includes some eco-tourism in the form a self catering farm stay accommodation that offers free access to farm and walking trails.
The type of work asked of you would be to assist with general maintenance and aesthetic improvement i.e. painting, Native planting, fun aditions to the walking & sight seeing trails experience, or just designed to fit the skill sets you bring, be it mechanical, electrical. arbiroculture or whatever! We enjoy what we do and are pleased to share our unique surrou... more inside

We are a family farming operation. We run deer, sheep, vineyards and a small wine company.
Tahi runs the farms, Olivia runs the wine company and other bits.
We have 3 gorgeous, full of beans kids- Amiri (7, boy), Manawa (5, boy), Awanui (2, girl).
4 farm dogs, 4 pet lambs and a pony!

Currently we are looking for help around the garden (before mid December). But duties around the farm, vineyard, kids and general house duties will also pop up.

For 4 hours a day you will get a newly renovated sleep-out with ensuite, queen sized bed, all meals, internet access AND you get to hang with an awesome Kiwi family!

You must have own vehicle and a willing attitude.

Our home was renovated in 2016. It is warm with large decks, a spacious garden and plenty of parking. Our guest room is a few paved meters from the main house, and is a newly renovated room with ensuite and queen bed.

We live 15min drive from Seddon, which is 20min south of Blenheim. Grape growing & wine making ... more inside

Help needed this coming Summer 2018/2019

We have been unable to host helpers for the last 2 years due to earthquake damage to our farm and houses.
We now have a limited period for approx 5-6 weeks at short notice to do this - but we must say that earthquakes do occasionally happen here, so please be aware of this.

We are offering self contained accomodation in our main house that is due to be repaired but is totally liveable.
Own bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom - all fully equiped.

We are looking for helpers now on our sheep and cattle farm, and vineyard situated in the Awatere Valley - 30 kms south of Blenheim.

We are a couple running this farm and vineyard and we are always looking for enthusiastic helpers to get things done.

Quite often emails are not coming through to us - so do txt us as well and we can look you up.

Ideally we are looking for a couple.

The type of work can vary from helping with gardening, section clearing, mowing lawns, housework... more inside

We live on a 5 acre lifetsyle block outside of Blenheim. We unschool our 4 children (please feel free to google this if you're unfamiliar with unschooling, as it can be a bit of a shock to some people) and have horses, dogs, pigs and chickens(they are all pets). Some of us are vegetarians and some carnivores(we agree to disagree). My husband farms a large farm 20 minutes away and has blocks of land throughout Marlborough that he farm. We are looking to have the world come to us and to help me in the kitchen(as I am a disastrous cook),the garden and with the kids. We live a two minute walk to the Wairau River where we often swim with our German Shepard and live on a lagoon that has walking tracks. Loads of space!!I also would love to do a bit more tramping but would love someone to accompany me and the kids:) If we sound like we are the type of people you would like to meet, please send me a message....but fair warning, there are FOUR CHILDREN, and with that comes a lot of crazi... more inside

We are in Endeavour Inlet, right on the Queen Charlotte Track. Our home is surrounded by native bush, small streams with views over the sounds and is a convenient stop off point for people wanting to walk the Queen Charlotte Track or short sections of it

Our property is a small life style block with a holiday house, 3 sleep outs, 2 organic vegetable gardens in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds. Apart from a beehive we are not engaged in any sort of farming but are active members of the local conservation trust. We are keen conservationists and are happy to share our knowledge of the area and keen to learn about other cultures and places.
While we spent about 10 days a month here we do not live here permanently hence there are always plenty of tasks that need doing from mowing lawns to painting and maintaining our buildings and firewood chopping.

Our preference is for mature, independent individuals prepared to work 4 hrs in the morning. We have a few gardening, building & pa... more inside

We live on our boat near Havelock. I have three young children aged 9, 12, 14 whom I homeschool.
We hunt possums for fur. Our boat is small and basic so you will sleep in a tent and must be prepared to 'rough it' to a certain extent (shower consists of a bucket of warm water).
No experience with boats is necessary but you will need to have a 'can do' attitude.
Please bring some food to share. We have a two burner cooker on the boat but no oven.
We have fishing gear so you are welcome to try and catch dinner!
You must have your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
There is a good chance of seeing dolphins but it is not guaranteed.
Our activities depend on the weather.
We have a cat and small dog so not suitable for anyone with an allergy to cats.
We can pick you up in Elaine Bay or Havelock.

My main business is flower growing and there is an opportunity to help and learn about the flower harvest over October and November in the field and/or in the packing shed. However help is also needed in non-commercial aspects of the farm such as helping out with cooking, house cleaning, and care of animals including taking dogs for walks. From August to October there are a range of jobs from preparations for the flower season, including disbudding, putting up wind cloth and setting up the packing shed to gardening and helping with my ongoing renovation of my old cottage.

My property is located 20 minutes from town surrounded by vineyards in a beautiful Marlborough valley. The old house has a sunny veranda overlooking small creek in quiet peaceful surroundings.

Helpers have a comfortable queen bed in the house shared with female owner, two small dogs who live in the house and the farm cat. The house can get busy at times as I often have a friend and his teenage boy to visit... more inside
