Note: At the moment I'm spending a lot of time in Nelson and am needing a hand with building all sorts of things. So let me know if either Nelson or Otira is on your itinerary.

Also, I'm often looking to employ people who have steel work or construction experience on a project-by-project basis.

I have a property in Otira on the western side of Arthurs Pass National Park.
The surrounding areas are stunning, with a lot of opportunity for trekking, rock and alpine climbing.
My property was formerly a road works depot, and as such is very industrial. It is sandwiched between a railway line and a highway which can be momentarily noisy.
I need some assistance to get things tidied up and make the place a bit more homely. There is a cabin that needs a little bit more work.

Possible work includes:

- General cleaning of the cabin
- Painting the window frames
- Digging post holes for a fence
- Cutting firewood

If you know how to use tools I have some ... more inside

I grew up on dairy farms in New Zealand and now own a share in a couple on the West Coast of the south island. I joined help x in July 2016 after my sister in law has had many successful placements.

For january and february 2017, i am likely to be too busy and tired to do help x. Its not fair to help x if you are here for a experience and im out most of the day then come home and fall asleep infront of tv. I have Lots of tractor work, silage making, farm admin and milking c

In AugusT-October there will be some baby calves to feed! You maybe able to go to the milking shed and see how it looks to milk a few hundred cows.

The kind of jobs you may be helping with when staying would be. The first priority would be helping with some housework. Have the house fire burning through the day, maybe cook a meal for dinner, help with dishes. It depends on the week sometimes I may have you help feed calves, or hose down the shed after milking. Once you have shown me how you work ... more inside

We are a small family, one child, living by the sea. We have a penguin colony on the property which we maintain predator control for. Main projects are building, track work, gardening and cleaning when it is too wet for outside work. We try to eat mostly from the land, depending on the time of year.
Accomodation is a small hut in the bush.

Hi.. We are Stephen born NZ'er.. and Nicole who is from Malaysia.. We are both very well travelled and enjoy meeting interesting people from around the world..

We have recently moved to our house right on the Hokitika river.. 5 kms from the centre of Hokitika.. and we are nearing the end of a big renovation job but could still use some help with painting, gardening, landscaping etc..

So if you can garden, paint, build or have any other skills that are useful we would love to put you up for a few days in return for some help..

We have our fully self-contained house-bus on the property that we can put you up in.. away from the mess of the house.. And also has unlimited Wi-Fi :-)

The main "cycle trail" goes right past our house, so if you enjoy riding we have a couple of bikes you can use while you are here.. and a bit later we should have a couple of kayaks for you to have a bit of river fun..

We prefer people to stay at least a few days.. and we would expect you to ... more inside

We are a couple, with a 8 year old,who have got behind in our daily jobs,so if you would like to give us a hand, and learn new skills along the way, send us an email. We are 20 minutes from Greymouth, nature walks, gold panning, and native birds surround us.Lake Brunner is also nearby.

Our work varies alot, mowing lawns, cutting hedges, landscaping, and generally keeping yards tidy.
Our little farm requires work,at the moment we need someone to use a woodsplitter, there is painting to do and lots of other jobs, the list is long!!!!.We have a big vegetable garden and tunnel house.

If you like looking after children, then our son would enjoy playing games of tag, climbing on the monkeybars, or been read a story.

The person/persons that would suit us,is someone that wants to stay longer than one week,is keen to learn new skills, and enjoys family life.

Lifestyle Dairy farm, with 250 milking cows/ once a day. In amongst the Victoria national park and two beautiful rivers. A haven for trout fisherpersons and trampers, with Lake Christobel track on our doorstep.

We are a family of three who have been at Blue Haze for just over a year and we love this location and enjoy having visitors comment on the beauty of this place.
