We are a family of four, Simon, Josie and our two boys. We are situated in the beautiful Yarra Valley, with views over the mountains. On our farm we grow a wide range of bio-dynamic fruit, nuts and veg including chestnuts, walnuts, nashis and a mixed orchard and vegetable garden. We are in the process of designing and developing the property at the moment.

We are currently building our farm shed (out of recycled materials) so will need help framing, cladding, wiring and plumbing. We are concentrating on cleaning up the property (clearing blackberry) and deer proof fencing our boundary. We need odd jobs done around the house, the home garden and home orchard. We are also continually collecting and storing fire wood. We are preparing areas for berry and avocado production, so there is work earthmoving and mulching/tree removal. Nashis are all picked and need to be packed and sold. Chestnut harvest has begun.

We are also designing and planning a sustainable rennovation of our ... more inside

We have a large holiday home and need help with the garden and some maintenance. It has got a bit out of hand. It is in the Mountains in a beautiful area. We are 1.5 hours from the ski fields and in summer we have swimming in the river. We are 99km from Melbourne. There is a bus service close by.
We would love to share it with you. If you could give us 4 hours help per day for full board. I think you would enjoy it. We have had help before and it has been very successful. We are not rigid with the working and have found in the past that a few days working then time for exploring or doing what you want seems to work.
It Is summer at present - good for swimming in the river.
Trout fishing is famous in the beautiful river and surrounds.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Available till August. Itís beautiful. Our favourite time is Autumn.

Would you like a change of scene? How about some Aussie country-living in a creek-side blue-stone cottage, in exchange for part-time work?

We need a live-in garden-loving couple to help us at Kingbilli, our 200 acre riverside llama-farm, pinto Shetland pony stud and Wildlife Refuge at Taggerty, 90 minutes NE of Melbourne in Victoria's Central Highlands. Home to over a 100 species of native wildlife, Kingbilli offers a relaxed country lifestyle in beautiful natural surroundings.

This is what we do:
1. Offer eco-friendly farm-stays to families
2. Breed Llamas and pinto Shetland Ponies.
3. Protect native wildlife in our Wildlife Refuge.

And this is what we need:
A live-in garden-loving couple to help keep our property, its gardens and cottages looking their best.
We request 2 days work per person per week (on Mondays and Fridays) leaving the rest of the week free for you to do as you wish.
Tasks - gardening, raking, weeding, collecting and stacking firewood, house-cle... more inside

Now fully booked to mid May. Located in Melbourne's Southern eastern suburbs, only 1 hour by train to Melbourne CBD. We have a hobby farm with cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, dogs, and cats. We are best suited to accommodate a couple or 2 friends travelling together and wanting to stay for 2 weeks or more.
Helper accommodation is very neat self contained studio style cottage, with your own King Bed, Lounge, kitchen, bathroom and meals area. We would welcome anyone with any handyman skills etc. General duties include caring for the animals, gardening, mowing, weeding, fence repairs, painting, wood splitting and other odd jobs.
We can provide accommodation and all meals in exchange for 20 hours per week (or accommodation only for just 10 hours each per week), and can also pay $$$ if you wish to work additional hours. We are 6km from the local shops and public transport, so it is best if you have your own vehicle. There are plenty of options for paid work in surrounding suburbs.

My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components.

I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 5-10 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest weekly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for ... more inside
