It is ESSENTIAL you have experience with horses. Please do NOT request to come and stay with us if you are not familiar with handling horses.

We are a family of 4 who live on a property in the hills situated approximately 40 mins drive from Perth C.B.D. We have many horses. All are thoroughbreds and used for playing Polo.

At this time of year we need help (aprox. 4hrs daily) to help prepare the horses for the upcoming polo season. This includes yard maintenance, feeding horses, working with young horses and general farm tidy-up.

Later in the polo season, there may be a possibility of paid work for a some helpers who may wish to stay for a longer period of time. (We are NOT able to supply second year WHV).

If you are a competent rider, it may be possible to go on bush rides where you will be able to see lots of native wildlife. We have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. This position would suit a well organised, neat, tidy person who can work with others in a team environ... more inside

Our family home was only finished late 2012, so we are still establishing permaculture gardens although our vegetable garden and orchard are complete.

We have a steer called Samuli, 2 chickens Thelma and Louise for eggs, and four border collies Molly Jack Tom and Spot and two cats Tiger and Missy who love company.

We are foodies and love to share different cuisines. Lee is a massage therapist(bit of a bonus)and we both enjoy welcoming Helpx to our home, and then become our extended family- we enjoy showing our region site seeing.

Lee needs help with the garden beds around the house and some farm yard work, and just general company would be lovely.

We supply a comfortable queen room/food and amenities in our home in exchange for 4 hours per day however we are flexible and are prepared to negotiate, and Bridgetown is a simply beautiful river town with good shopping, hospitality, library and amenities. It is only 1 hour 20 minutes to Margaret River(day trip) and a perfec... more inside

Hi. I live in Cowaramup in the beautiful Margaret River region. I live a short drive to the beach and it is surrounded by many wineries and things to do.The accommodation is a brand new studio, one bedroom with beautiful bathroom and living area. There is a beautiful outlook onto natural Bushland with many birds and lovely birdsong every day. Currently most of the work required Is painting. Therefore any previous experience in painting and painting preparation would be highly desirable. If you can learn and have an attention to detail then that is also fine. This would best suit a traveling couple or two friends traveling. There is only one queen bed provided. Applicants must be friendly, respectful And no drug use please.
Work required is 2.5 hrs per day per person for accommodation. This is my preference but if you would like meals included then it would be 4 hrs of work. Please contact me if you think you are appropriate and we can discuss conditions.
I am friendly and open ... more inside

Our Pearling Base, on the shores of Beagle Bay, is 120kms north of Broome (approx 2.5hrs on unsealed road in 4wd vehicle) on the Dampier Peninsula. It is very hot Nov-Mar (our wet season) & quiet, but we’re still hosting helpers during these months. Our dry season is often called ‘tourist season’ because the weather is warm, sunny and less humid, Apr-Oct (Australia’s winter months) - but there are lots of visitors and many helpers looking for hosts.

In exchange for (on average) around 5 hours work per day (often you will work independently), you will be provided with a rare and remote place to stay for a while, healthy food - mostly freshly caught fish (catching the fish & cooking the fish are shared experiences), single or double room with ocean or garden view (linen, fridge in the room), shared bathroom facilities & possibly sightseeing, fishing and freediving opportunities by boat, or onshore, & in addition, you can use our fishing rods and try your luck.

All cooking, clean... more inside
