We are a small property located about 30 minutes from Hobart on the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
We have some chickens, cattle and a very loving, happy dog called Gus.
Along with our 12 year old son Benny, we try to grow most of our own food and maintain our extensive garden and grounds.
We have a large home and visitors have exclusive use of the bottom of the house which has 2 large bedrooms with queen size beds, own bathroom and laundry facilities. It is very modern, comfortable and warm.
We need help getting the garden in order and general tidy up around the property. Benny is very active and loves playing so you need to enjoy being around children.
In exchange for 4-5 hours work a day, we will provide board, breakfast and dinner provisions. Hours are flexible and you may prefer to work longer days and take time off to explore this beautiful part of the world.
Ari is a keen fisherman so if the weather is good and you like fishing he would be happy to take you.

Farming, fishing on the seafront in beautiful Tasmania.
Our farm uses polyculture, permaculture, organic and wholistic farming principles, our aim is to ever increase our ability to work with nature for the benefit of the land, animals and people.

Our location is amazing beautiful sea views, great beaches, excellent national parks with fantastic walks to explore in spare time.

We farm free range pigs, plus we enjoy fishing, so seafood will be on menu. We also farm organic vegetables, so plenty of fresh food

Have young son 6 years old so if you love kids thats a big bonus!

Prefer stay of 2 weeks or more, longer welcome and no smokers please..

I look forward to hearing from you. :)

Hi I am Bo,
I have a sunny hillside property on the Tasman Peninsula and am in the process of setting up my home and a small market garden and farm project. I am drawing inspiration from permaculture, biodynamics, natural farming and regenerative farming. There is plenty of activities to help with including fencing, fertilising, planting, green house building, grafting fruit trees, building... the list goes on.

I can offer accommodation(will be quite rustic), food to sustain(eggs and meat from the farm and veges in the warmer months) and farming, growing, nutrition, healing, self sufficiency knowledge and theory.
Accommodation may be your own cute little tin cabin which is self contained. This cabin is fully insulated with a wood heater so I can host Helpers ALL YEAR ROUND.

The lifestyle here is very basic and simple: limited power and rainwater, outdoor shower (though it is in a nice covering), and a composting loo.
The Tasman Peninsula has a lot to offer and i can help ... more inside

Garden, ceramics and cats.

I am a potter living in the NW of Tasmania, about an hour by road from Cradle Mountain World Heritage area. I also assist a local charity with rehabilitation of feral cats and kittens, and have a large and productive garden and orchards.

I am looking for someone to help in the garden - there's a lot of wheelbarrowing and moving of plants to be done. Sowing seeds, planting out and harvesting depending on the tome of year. Also assistance with keeping the pottery tidy and handling, cleaning up after the cats and so on. Minor bits of help around the house are also appreciated.

What I offer for in return assistance - the opportunity to use the pottery; if you are here long enough you can fire pieces and take them away with you. I also do a lot of felting work making bird sculptures and you are welcome to join in. In season you can help yourself to produce from the garden, and there are always plenty of cat snuggles available.

Food - Most is bought ... more inside

Our lovely farms (plural) are only 20 minutes from Hobart with transport available. There is access in the area to wonderful hikes and wilderness areas, rivers for fishing. We also have a country pub at the bottom of our road (only 1/2 km walk) which has live bands every Sunday afternoon.

We live on a beautiful 5 acre horse hobby farm, with an amazing executive chalet home. We are however preparing to sell this home as we also now own an amazing 27 hectares (around 67 acres) with another 3 bedroom federation home, large shed and beautiful pasture land. We have horses and love life!

We need some assistance to get this house looking even prettier and more lovely than it already is to be able to sell it for a good price, we also need help with bits and pieces on our other farm (which is close to this place).

We offer a lovely comfortable bedroom and all meals. We are very easy to get along with, very well-travelled ourselves.

A couple would be great to have stay wi... more inside

LOOKING FOR A HOUSE/ANIMAL SITTER AUGUST 16TH - 22ND 2018

. Our farm is located in the idyllic Allens Rivulet region just south of Hobart - we have had loads of great HelpX workers helping out and partying in our old Appleshed at night. The farm is located 30km southwest of Hobart and is easily accessible via the Huon Highway (we can pick you up from the bus stop along the highway). At the moment there are plenty of preparation jobs to complete, plus some small renovations on old sheds. We also have horses (mine and others) and chickens to look after. There is plenty of work to do to keep the farm running. Summertime help is bringing in the hay and weeding, for the rest of the year it is random jobs to suit your skill base. You will stay in a small self contained cottage or an old dairy. After hard days of work we have plenty of options to relax and have some fun! There is a local tennis court where we can play for free, we have a ping-pong table with continuously ongoing to... more inside
