Hello there!

We are looking for some new helpers to join us for the last month of the summer season. (October)

We are a 60 bed backpackers hostel based in an old Wesleyan Chapel in the centre of St Ives, Cornwall.

We have plethora of people who stay with us from international backpackers, independent travelers, families, walkers, surfers and seasonal workers (people who work a summer season in St Ives).

We're within walking distance of four beaches including Porthmeor surfing beach.

St Ives is a beautiful busy seaside town (google it) located in remote west Cornwall; we're surrounded by cliffs, beaches, stunning scenery and some amazing attractions. Nearby we have St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre (both must-sees), Lands End and tin mines.

We have two positions available on our morning housekeeping shift for approximately 10-17.5 hours a week.

This would involve a daily clean of the hostel as part of a three person team, including servicing rooms and cha... more inside

**PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF AND EXPERIENCE WITH HORSES**
I only ask this because we have taken people on to train them in the past and found it takes weeks for them to adjust and then it is time to leave - it is boring here for someone who does not know how to work with a horse. It can also be dangerous for someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR AUTUMN SEASON HELPERS...

Working family farm in rural North Yorkshire bordering the moor and large areas of forest, where we have horses and other farmyard animals. Help is required to work with the horses e.g mucking out, walker, grooming etc (only WITH experience) - but also to maintain the farm. We are self sufficient with a vegetable patch too so if you have green thumbs then that's a bonus.
We are situated near Helmsley, a small town with shops and pubs (and a bus system).

What we're looking for: hard working, outgoing people, who would be comfortable being left responsible for the ... more inside

Beautiful views and a lovely rural setting close to an alternative town with plenty going on (Hebden Bridge) nestled between Manchester and Leeds in the South Pennines. We are also on a bus route and near a train station.

We would love people to help us with our newly acquired smallholding. We are a couple with a dog, cows and chickens. You would be staying with us as part of the family.

We have meadows with a stream running through. Our plan is to develop the meadows for wild flowers, generate woodland along the stream and create a pond area to increase biodiversity. We also have a small veg plot and orchard.

We are not registered organic but have an organic sensibility. We do things by hand and don`t use chemical fertiliser etc.

We need help with whatever we are doing. If the weather is fine we'll be outside, removing problem plants, generally weeding, planting, painting, building dry stone walls, making paths, moving stones or working on out-buildings. If the weat... more inside

"I am leaving my host this week and she will require someone else to help her. I have learnt a lot about construction, gardening and animal care. I have been helped with my Spoken English learning and have improved my vocabulary a lot here. She has been really lovely with me and has bought all the food I have wanted and when I needed anything else she has bought things for me and given me a lot of attention even when I was sick she bought me things to help me get better and that was only on my second day here. The accommodation has all the facilities to live here and is really comfortable. There are two rooms I can use as a bedroom ( I could choose which one I wanted to use) The bathroom is very nice with plenty of hot water to have a bath but there is also a shower that has nice hot water in another room. I have a bicycle I can go for a ride on and even I can contact other people who have stayed with my host on other years and they now have jobs locally. I can recommend this host.... more inside

The work will mainly involve building/decorating/DIY. But also cleaning the house, gardening, shopping, furniture restoration and whatever else is needed

I am very interested in hosting professionals with building skills. Plumbers, plasterers. carpenters, electricians, bricklayers, builders etc. I can host people for long periods (6 months +) if needed.

For professionals I am also interested in paying for extra hours worked, so please contact me if this is something you are looking for.

I would ideally like someone with some experience, but this is not essential.

In exchange for free accommodation and food, I would like 4 hours a day help. If you have experience that would be excellent, if not then as long as you're hard working and quick to learn then I can guide you (I've renovated a few houses before)
Please feel free to contact me for a chat to discuss in more detail the work and how we can help each other
