We currently need people to help with the cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, room changes, gardening and generally keeping the place under control.

The work is based on 4 hours a day 5 days per week mostly on a morning but depending on the project we can be flexible
We provide basic food provisions but you will need to cook for yourselves.

We are a busy family of 5, living the perfect life in Somerset close to Glastonbury (perfect except that we have too much to do). We have a large garden in need of lots of work. We are needing at least two people to help tidy and prepare the garden for spring, to scrub a large stone floor and to help manage a woodland where all of the undergrowth needs clearing. Meals will be provided and accommodation is in a room attached to our house but with a separate outside entrance.

We have arranged for 2 guests in August and will therefore not be needing anyone else until next summer. This is a small nature reserve consisting of a small wood of an acre or so, a wildflower meadow of about half an acre and a wildlife garden. We are situated amongst farmland and near to the beautiful Tas Valley. We would like our guests to help scythe and rake the meadow - this might take around 4 hours a day over about a week, depending on the weather. The rest of the time would be your own. There would be lots of rest. We would give lifts to Norwich to explore this ancient city, to Cambridge, and to the beautiful North Norfolk coast. We would also take you for a day out in London. I am a retired teacher and could help with language skills. There would be lots of conversation. You would enjoy home cooking and have a bedroom of your own. We are a retired couple and we would share the work and work alongside you. We could teach you how to scythe and believe you would find it a... more inside

We are very lucky to live on a farm in the beautiful Lake District, just on the edge of the National Park in Cumbria; the farm dates back to the late 1600's. Over the years parts of it have been renovated and added to and some parts are looking a little sorry for themselves! My mother, myself, my sister and my 7yr old nephew live and work on the farm running a small bed & breakfast business and a successful Friesian horse equestrian centre. We have big plans for the place in the future, however for now we could do with a little help with day-to-day living.

We are on the outskirts of the lovely village of Cartmel which is home to a small racecourse, several very good restaurants and it is famous for it's Sticky Toffee Pudding. You can walk into the village from the farm in just under 20 minutes and there is a local grocery store and several pubs where you can meet friendly locals and visitors from all over the world. The nearest town is Kendal which is about a 20 minute drive away... more inside

Hi, we are John and Stephanie, semi-retired active hosts interested in history, art, poetry and folk music as well as farming. We are looking forward hosting friendly sociable volunteers so we can also learn about your life and culture.
Are you available to help us for a few weeks and learn more about our old-fashioned way of life?
Do you like horses and other animals? We need help with stable duties, field work, gardening and some housework. You will live in our home as part of the family which sometimes includes our elderly mother. In exchange for around 5 hours work per day (flexible) we offer full board and all meals are included. We cook good quality meals from basic ingredients and mostly buy locally sourced produce and are happy to cater for vegetarians as many of our meals are vegetarian. Please note we only accept non smokers. Our home is an unmodernised quirky Victorian farmhouse full of antiquity situated on the edge of a small farming village in the Midlands near... more inside

Here you can have the opportunity to help on our beautiful organic smallholding in the East of England, 13 miles South West of the historic city of Norwich and near the pretty market town of Wymondham. Ideal for a couple or an independent single person who would like to develop their practical skills and who have an interest in country living, growing food, keeping bees, chickens etc.
We provide good accommodation in a private part of the house or an independent cottage as available
This is a quiet rural smallholding, from here I run our beekeeping business. There are vegetable gardens, polytunnels, flower beds, a mixed orchard, chickens, and a woodland shelter belt. Beekeeping work with hives here and on local farms if you are interested.
We also work on maintenance and new projects in the garden and grounds and you will be expected to help in the house as needed. We work five days a week but can be flexible about days off, roughly five and a half hours a day. We eat together... more inside
