This is a homestay in the South of England; the house is surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. The next opportunities for Helpxers are from April 2019 onwards and it would ideally suit someone who is aged around 18 to 40. If you are a carpenter or if you have special skills in garden work instead of carpentry then either would be very useful but definitely not essential.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we could be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

You have your own room and all meals, in return for just a ... more inside

Single person or couple. Are you free ideally for minimum 5 months from about June until end October 2019? We are looking for an open-minded, relaxed and efficient person to come and help in a BnB and family household. This is mostly domestic work in the kitchen (the hub of the house which needs constant tidying and cleaning!) also providing back-up cleaning in the B&B, sometimes meeting and greeting, waitressing where required.

There is plenty of opportunity to improve your English with lots of conversation in the house on a variety of subjects. If you come as a couple, one can work in the local village.

Flexibility and positivity key to your enjoyment here! I can put you in touch with some previous helpers so you can get an idea of what it's like. Must be happy in the countryside and to self-entertain as this is a rural location - but there is always something to do. Let me know if you have any questions!

The centre is part of a worldwide organization that helps make Buddhist teachings available throughout the world. We are a small resident and volunteer community that regularly hosts Buddhist teachers, seminars, and workshops. This is a space of retreat, where meditation practitioners can undertake retreats of a few days or a few months. Our resident lama is in residence throughout the summer and fall to provide guidance and inspiration.

We partner with local and national conservationists and scientists to help care for our land, its unique variety of flora and fauna, and the surrounding moorland, which has undergone major revitalization efforts in the recent decades. We live in a 16th thatched cottage in the countryside. We share it with spiders.. It has a wild cottage garden that we would love to have help with. The front garden needs digging and clearing of brambles etc and the back garden needs the same. You need to be fit and prepared to get muddy and dirty! We can offer accomodation in our old cottage and meals. I can also offer felt making workshop. We have a shower and bath. Cosy bedroom. A driver with own transport would be good, but not essential, as some rubbish to take to tip. One friendly dog and a cat. Wifi weak. A two week stay would be ideal. Would prefer smokers to smoke outside. Immediate start, please as trying very hard to tidy up prior to selling. Thank you.
