We are about to embark on an exciting new project. The renovation of a croft house into holiday accommodation on the stunning Isle of Lewis.
We also have self catering tourism businesses in Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, Perthshire in the Scottish Highlands. We previously had a guesthouse and have hosted happy volunteers for a number of years!
We plan to have six helpers during the course of this year some based on the Isle of Lewis and some in Perthshire. We are hoping to rotate between the two places and therefore would be more interested in any helpers wishing to stay for longer periods of time (although happy to consider periods on minimum one month). Couples or two friends together would work well for this opportunity.
The Isle of Lewis is in the Outer Hebrides, the croft is by the sea. Itís beautiful, remote and wild with amazing beaches and abundant wildlife.
Aberfeldy and Pitlochry are both busy holiday villages in the Highlands. There is loads of outdoor activities and there... more inside

We would like to meet a couple who would like to do some fence painting, erect some shelving in the workshop and enjoy some light gardening work. We have a well stocked garden tool shed and about every tool you would need. Also it would be a bonus if you are interested in cooking in a well stocked kitchen and pantry.

Besides the garden I do have a well equipped engineering workshop capable of handling metal working and wood working. I have, in hand, a 200 year old pitch pine Welsh dresser that is half restored and needs some tender love and care all the rubbing down has been completed! Also I restore WWII workshop machinery and would love some help to finish a universal milling machine. Also on the waiting list is a 3.0 metre vertical drilling machine

We now seem to be in better health but we do need some assistance in maintaining the garden and outbuildings. We would prefer to take on a male/female couple who would enjoy our company as well as their own!

We live in a very... more inside

Hi all, due to a change in circumstances , I am urgently looking for one person (or a couple or two friends) from August 24th to September 8th 2020.

Help xer(s)needed to assist with taking care of my twins, who are 2 years old. I estimate about 2-3 hours of sole responsibility for the boys per day, the rest of the childcare (about 2 hours) will be in cooperation with me. The other main task I would like the helper to be responsible for while I look after the boys is cooking supper in the evenings. There will also be 15-20 mins or so of light housework and tidying to do each day. I look forward to hearing from you if u might be interested. It will also be possible to work with my horses if you like, doing grooming tasks, for example, or riding if you are an experienced rider. I am living in Battersea, London, opposite Battersea Park.

Help-xers will help for around 5 hours each day, usually 5 days a week, depending on what is necessary at the time. Sometimes the tasks in the... more inside

Vacancies from October onwards: Due to the virus my summer plans have changed and it seems unlikely that international travellers will be able to volunteer here. If you're already in England and would like a very peaceful rural existence for a while, then I would consider taking you, especially if you are staying near enough to be collected by car.
Usually I prefer horsy experience, but just now, if you can push a wheelbarrow, you're in!
If you'd appreciate some solitary time, away from the rat race, maybe this could be for you! Horse experience an advantage.
I am a semi retired teacher with a love of the countryside, my animals, wildlife, cycling, art, music and dancing. I live in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds in a tiny cottage, in the hamlet of Miningsby on the Revesby Estate. It's very rural and rather isolated. No shops within walking distance, but with pretty market towns just 10 minutes' drive away. Our nearest train station is in Boston, which can be reached via eithe... more inside

We have moved into some barns which we converted half into a home and half into an engineering workshop. We are surrounded by spectacular countryside with opportunity for walking and cycling. You would have lots of opportunity to meet people as there are always friends and family visiting so it is a fantastic place to practice english. There is a train station 3 miles away. We have four lovely children aged 10, 9 and 7, and 1, chickens and a vegetable garden.
We have a bedroom and bathroom at the other end of our house so you would have privacy and not be woken up early! We hope to have people who enjoy spending time with children, can help us in the garden and poly tunnel, and help running our busy house hold. (Hanging up washing, help in the kitchen etc)
