This is a cute farmhouse house in the countryside near Cork City which is a family home with dogs and cats and chickens. We are very easy going friendly household We live in beautiful open countryside with fields and trees around for miles, but very close to local shops by bus/cycle. Kinsale, West Cork and Kerry are all within driving distance for fab days out and bus is two miles away but I can collect and drop back to buses and will give lifts when I can or you can borrow my bicycle. Nearest bus is two miles away but it can go into Cork city one way and all the way down to Dingle and the Kerry Coast the other way, so perfect for adventures when you want to get away. Cork is an amazing vibrant city but still has a small feel, gorgeous restaurants, music in the pubs most nights and there is a festival of some sort always going on around the city especially in the summer. To get away from it all this is a nice country setting but not far from city life and the beautiful Irish coastl... more inside

We have a small holding in the Wicklow National Park - a very lovely, rural area which is just an hour from Dublin by bus. Our land is located on the Blessington lakes. We keep three horses which have to be exercised and minded. We also have work in garden, in the fields and in the house. We have a separate cottage for accommodation which is located on our property. We are looking for helpers who would enjoy mucking in with us - doing gardening, fencing, exercising the horses, painting/decorating. There is always something to be done in a place like this. We would expect to be helped 4- 5 hours per day, Monday-Friday with weekends off to explore the area, relax and visit Dublin and Ireland. A full European driving licence (for 2 years and over 25 years would allow access to a car to travel around). We will provide accommodation in the cosy cottage photographed which is particularly suited to a couple or two friends. It has two bedrooms, sitting room, shower room and fitted kitchen. ... more inside

Helper wanted for a few weeks in October/November.

We live in an 18th Century listed country house outside Maynooth, Co. Kildare, which we have been renovating over the last four years. We live at the end of a long avenue, but only a ten minute cycle to Maynooth which is a lively university town. There is a regular train service to Dublin and we are near many interesting historical sites. The house is also open to visitors on certain days during the year until the end of November. We are a friendly family of 5, with 4 dogs, and 2 cats that need a lot of attention! We have a number of projects and tasks in the garden that need to be done over the next few months: clearing ivy from walls, planting and weeding flower beds, and putting in support systems for climbing plants.

There are also some 18 acres of grounds and woods which need clearing, planting and maintaining. There is a comfortable self contained flat in the courtyard and a small cottage (which needs the painting) overlooking the sea.

hi! I need help with some computer projects on a Mac OS 10.6.8 like website updating and maintenance and possibly video editing (promoting planet awareness through NatureArt) and also landscaping and maintenance jobs on the land and in the Magic Forest, making firewood and building jobs. I am a musician who gives drumming lessons and workshops in the community + sound healing sessions. I manage an environmental project on the beautiful land of an old farm with stone walls surrounded by local + exotic trees and plants. There is also a Magic Forest (with special spaces with sculptures)and a holy well. There are dogs, cats and a pony. The area is remote + beautiful. It is 7km to Ballydehob, the next village. There is only limited WiFi here. Musicians + film makers are very welcome, but not a necessary condition. I live with my children in an old cottage. Volunteers stay in the house or a caravan. Work is done according priority. Volunteers are expected to be sociable and self-responsib... more inside

We re looking for help for the rest of November 2018....before we head off on our travels. We are currently 'unschooling' our kids so parents with children are welcome.

We're lucky enough to live in a beautiful landscape with a good community spirit. You will be helping with an unusual structure, currently an earth-ship- using tyres and timber similar to one in the photos. It will be used as a workshop to create sculpture and run workshops.
Essentially part of our aim is to create an arts Centre, retreat and sculpture trail with a focus on the natural environment. My partner Jessica myself and our two children Archer and Tallulah, aged 7 and 10, are situated in a beautiful valley just up from Bantry Bay in the Cork and Kerry mountains, 5 minutes from the sea with stunning views. My partner Jessica, is an environmental scientist and educator as well as a vegetarian chef. When I'm not constructing living spaces and workshops, I spend my time creating sculpture and designing s... more inside
