hi! I need help with landscaping and maintenance jobs on the land and in the Magic Forest project, making firewood and sometimes building jobs. I also need help with some computer projects on a Mac OS 10.6.8 like website updating and maintenance and possibly video editing (promoting planet awareness through NatureArt). I am a multi-artist and a musician in a community percussion band called "Bang On". I also build musical instruments from recycled materials and give sound healing sessions. I live on the beautiful land of an old farm with stone walls surrounded by local + exotic trees and plants. There is also a Magic Forest (with special spaces with sculptures) and a holy well. There are dogs, cats and a pony. The area is remote + beautiful. It is 7km to Ballydehob, the next village. There is only limited WiFi here. Musicians + film makers are very welcome, but this is not a necessary condition. I live with my children in an old cottage. Volunteers sleep in the house or a caravan. We live in a house that was built by our family in 1789, it runs as a tillage farm in co.kildare an hour south of dublin. the grounds around millbrook are in need of attention as we have not had gardeners for several years.
We are looking for people to help in and around the house which could include painting walls etc. I am a sculptor and occasionally need some studio help..Our work hours are very flexible as indeed are most days as I am not running a business. Apart from the farm which my husband runs with his son. We have 3 horses any number of hens, peacocks and of course 2 dogs.
Anyone volunteering would be very much part of the family and stay and live as we. In general we prefer two friends or a couple as they keep each other company during the day, but if you are the type that loves their own company you would also be happy here.
Dublin ,the capital city is only 60 minutes by train so there is always opportunity to spend a couple of days there. Southwards there is the be... more inside

-- The journey is the destination. --
-- Travel less, see more --

Hello helpers,

We are two humans, artists, teachers and students of life who are on a journey together most of the time. We have created a place called the Octopus's Garden-House of Encounter, a place for people looking for real exchange in nature to meet.
We are looking for people who are happy to take this experience a day at a time.

This means we can arrange arrival dates but not the exact length of your stay.
We often meet people in Galway for a tea first .

This is an attempt to create an alternative way of living that is based on authenticity, is closer to nature and people's needs, also with the help of technology.

The way we live here could be described as existentialist and one day at a time.

If you feel you're a refugee of the spirit perhaps this is the place for you for a while.

We enjoy the silence here .

You would also need to be happy to be independent and spend time on your ... more inside

Hi, we live in Cork city. We already have someone booked in for August. We are looking for someone who knows about gardening and doesn't mind outdoor physical work. Hedge cutting, making new boarders, making paths and steps - that kind of thing. I am converting to a more 'easy-to-keep but kind to bees' type of garden. So just a small bit of veg growing.
There are three of us at home. We are an easy-going couple with a grown up daughter. At the moment we can accommodate one person in a small single room. In exchange we would expect 18-20 hours a week. I know most HelpX people are interested in the countryside but maybe you are on your way to somewhere else in Ireland and would like to spend some time in Cork City.

We are small FREE RANGE PIG and CATTLE farmers just outside the village of Kilfenora, county Clare, in the West of Ireland. We sell our own free range pork meat directly from the farm. We also have a few hens, a couple of dogs, 2 donkeys and a cat. We have a good size poly tunnel where we grow a lot of organic vegetables and fruits. We are looking someone who would like to come and experience a bit of traditional farming in a lovely part of the country. We are part of an Ecotourism group in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark and have some interesting projects in the pipeline, so we need people with different type of skills. We also offer 'Glamping' accommodation on the farm in a converted old horsetruck for accommodation and meals for paying guests. See www.burrenglamping.com
In the springtime, we spend a lot of time preparing the garden and in the autumn we are harvesting a lot of our fruit and vegetables and go out foraging for wild berries, nuts etc so people who are interes... more inside

We have availability right now for a week or two.

Rural living family of 5 need help around the house to tidy the place up, gardening, painting, carpentry, boring housework etc. The mobile home in the photos would be your private accommodation, we live in the small cottage beside it. I will provide food for breakfasts and snacks in your mobile so you can have breakfast at your leisure and we will share lunch and an evening meal in the cottage. In exchange I would like 3-5 hours help doing whatever jobs need doing on a particular day. We are fairly easy going and flexible and if the weather is good we are likely to go to the beach instead.
