We are looking for helpers who can contribute out around the farm. We need the cows and horses taken care of, fences to be fixed, weeds to be sprayed, dishes and generalized domestic work to be done, and many other things to help maintain the overall wellness of the property. There is a one bedroom cabin that is open for stay, about 100 yards from the main farmhouse. Heat, stove, food and water are all supplied, with an additional outhouse located behind. Meal plans can be arranged once contacted.

Funky 5 acre vegetable farm in the beautiful Bulkley Valley. An easy walk or 10 min bike ride to town, even closer to the beach! Plenty of hiking trails right out the back door. There is salmon fishing in the summer and moose hunting in the fall.

The focus of the farm is organic vegetables with a few chickens and rabbits. I grow salad greens indoor all year long.

Short stays and long are always welcome. I have 2 spare bedrooms in the house and plenty of room to camp or park a trailer. The farm keeps a laid back attitude. Helpers are asked to chip in 15-20 hours a week for a place to stay and food. You are encouraged to take off and explore all the amazing things the valley has to offer!!

The farm is located 50km north of Williams Lake, B.C. This small city has a population of about 12,000 people. We usually make one trip to Williams Lake each week to deliver produce, shop, and attend to business items. The bus stops at Williams Lake and also at McLeese Lake about 10 km away. Our land is on the large Fraser River which reaches the Pacific Ocean at Vancouver, B.C. about 500km downstream.

We grow a variety of vegetable crops, raspberries, currants, and have 60 fruit trees (mostly apple). We press most of the apple crop for juice which is frozen for sale throughout the year. We have also culture apple cider vinegar from some of the apple juice and sell this at local stores. At present, we have no farm animals but a dog.

The crops are sold fresh at the farmers co-operative store in Williams Lake and at the farm gate. Some may also be preserved in glass jars, frozen, or dried for later sale.

We are older farmers who have lived here for almost 30 years. We need ... more inside

Our family lives in Northern BC, in a small town called Hazelton. We are starting up our own backyard hobby farm, as we are wanting to work towards self sustainability as far as growing our own food, and we are starting to do meat birds. We are looking for help with gardening, yard maintenance, and preserving. Possibly some help around the house, depending on what people's interests and strengths are. We are pretty flexible for the type of work; depending on the season, will depend on the work we need done, from planting and building garden boxes, to weeding, and harvesting raspberries. We are looking for someone who would be willing to put in 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week. We do have small children, so it is not a quiet house hold. There is a guest room, as well as the option to camp out in a westfalia van in the summer months if you would want your own space. We would be happy to provide food, and you could join in for family meals if you choose. We are a pretty laid back... more inside
