About us: Ellie, a former traveller, born in The Netherlands, came to visit Australia in 1982 and I am still here! Peter was born and bred in Brisbane, Australia. We live on a 50 acre property about 5 km's away from a small village, Boreen point, on lake Cootharaba. It is about 20-25km's away from Noosa Heads (there are a few buses/day that take you there for $2) The village is about 150km North of Brisbane. There is a sailing club and an old pub and a shop. We live on a 2 acre clearing surrounded by 50 acres of bush. We would like help with maintaining our property as well as doing projects. There is also a natural swimming pool that requires some work from time to time. Finally, we would welcome folk who help us keep the house, vegetable garden and surrounding land up to standard and share the cooking with us. We are a new distillery in Rockhampton currently renovating our main bar and dinning area. The building is an old art deco pub from 1930 and needs a lot of work completed to bring it back to its former glory. We have completed the distillery, cafe and some of the hotel rooms but there is lots more to get done.
We would like people that could help with general renovation jobs such as cleaning, painting, sending etc etc. There will also be opportunities to work in the distillery making rum and in the cafe. We are expecting 15 hours of work a week in exchange for accommodation.
We are a young couple with 2 young boys ( aged 2 & 4) who are enjoying this new project in beautiful Rockhampton. Rockhampton has some fun things to do nearby with some beautiful national parks and stunning beaches a short drive away in Yeppoon.

I welcomed young International workers for 17 years on my farm at Glen Aplin.
My circumstances changed as I aged and I sold the farm and moved to a suburban house in northern Queensland. The soils here are poor and there is no real garden surrounding my new home. Two years ago I completed Geoff Lawtons Online Permaculture Design course and it is now my aim to establish a sustainable food forest surrounding my home. This will entail building pergolas to both shelter the house from heat and to carry productive vines like passionfruit and grapes. I will also need to have raised garden beds constructed and filled with topsoil in which to grow banana, citrus, mulberry and fig trees etc.
Any helpers with experience working with timber to build pergolas and raised garden beds should contact me.
As yet I have no photos to include of my new home.

My name is Ana and my husband is Sven and my son is Nicholas who is 17. We live on 70acres and run a horse stud which is located in Coominya, 80km west of Brisbane.

We are looking for one person to come and help out around the property with some general maintenance and clearing, it would also be great if this person was familiar with horses as there are 13 of these currently and some duties will involve handling and feeding them. If you are suitable as a horse person you will have the opportunity to do some training and riding.

The working days are Monday to Friday for 5 hours per day. In return you will have your own bedroom in the house, all meals, use of the pool, horse riding if desired and if you want to cycle there is a bicycle available here.

The person who applies needs to be social and friendly as this is a family environment. You must also love animals as we do have many dogs in addition to our 13 horses. I prefer someone that is 25 plus as I need this perso... more inside
