We live on a farm in beautiful English countryside, yet only half an hours drive to Bristol. On our farm we keep cattle, sheep, goats and poultry. We also have a sheep dog, farm cat and a pony.
We have two boys and two girls aged 3,5,6,7 years. We are looking for a non-smoker from Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada who can speak English with childcare experience between the ages of 18 and 30 to help look after our children, do some housework and occasional babysitting and help in the garden in summer. We need someone from August. We can offer you your own lovely room in our farmhouse and meals. We can give you a lift into Bristol on your day off if you also want to spend time in the city. There is a train station in the next village and a limited bus service in our village. We have a bike you could use. We are looking for some one who has skills as a child carer to be part of our family and live with us. Some local paid work may also be available.

We live on a small farm with horses so people interested in riding and helping with horses are very welcome. There is a lot of riding to do and because of this and the accomodation we can offer it's more likely to suit a girl who has had plenty of experience with horses and who is not a novice rider. You would also need to have rider insurance. We also have chickens, dogs, cats, sheep, lots of wild life and the farm is in the countryside in a peaceful spot that is also close to some lively cities - Sheffield, Leeds, York.
We would like someone to help 2 or 3 hours per day with outside work mainly with horses and animals and there is plenty of yard and field work to do.
Your room would be in part of a large farm house and we are a family of two so things aren't too noisy. If you have a car there's plenty of parking - best if you drive as there's no bus but if you like the quiet life no car is probably a good thing. We go to town often for shopping etc so you'd get a lift. Good food... more inside

I have a large garden that I wish to develop. We live a natural, organic life as much as we can and enjoy being outside lots. I have two young children who are homeschooled. I would ensure they respect your space however they are very sociable and curious and you would have to like children to enjoy staying here. I have a large veggie patch and I would like help developing it further, also help with cutting back some trees/shrubs. We live a really simple life in the countryside in a very quiet village with one bus a week that goes to the town. There is a fantastic pub less than a minute walk from our house selling real ales if you like that sort of thing. You would have a small room in our tiny cob cottage. I have internet access but little else in the way of media and you are welcome to use it.

For more info please contact me.
Thank you, Carole

Hi
********* Please note we are only able to offer short term stays of between 1-7 nights. Unless you have professional experience of decorating or tiling when longer may be considered************

We are James and Sharon a married couple who are also HelpX's and have used this scheme to travel parts of Oz. Now currently back in the UK we have decided to occasionally host other HelpX's. We will only be able to do this when we have the space as we also rent out our spare room.

We may not always be about ourselves so have decided to host on an accommodation only basis most of the time although if this is a problem we can consider including food for extra work.

The work itself will be general house cleaning, light DIY if there are any jobs need doing and we will hopefully have some painting done at some point.

James is originally from Scotland and Sharon is originally from Liverpool so we know many parts of the UK and can advise on further travelling. We have lived ... more inside

PROJECT NOW FINISHED, BUT GETTING INVOLVED IN OTHER ECO BUILDING PROJECTS IN THE FUTURE SO DO GET IN TOUCH IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND I MAY BE ABLE TO HELP. So please do get in contact if you are interested.

An interesting opportunity to volunteer on a eco building project being carried out in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. The building is mostly going to be built using straw bales, with an environmental approach along every step. Looking for enthusiastic workers, who want to further there knowledge and practical building skills.
The building is on an organic farm, so there may be some other more varied jobs available (in the garden or on the farm), but the main focus of the work will be on the building.
In exchange for 5 hours work a day, for 5 days a week, delicious home cooked food and somewhere to sleep will be offered.

The farm is located near Stonehenge, Salisbury, the south coast and other beautiful attractions. So their are plenty of opportunities for things ... more inside

We are yurt builders located on the idyllic Welsh border between Shropshire and Wales. Our cottage is located high on a hillside of Clun Valley with stunning views, an iron age hillfort nearby and miles of walking/cycling routes.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals or couples who want to learn carpentry and green wood working skills to help us build our sustainable yurts and gers. We also sew all our own canvases and have a sewing workshop in a barn just down the road.

We are a young sociable couple who can offer you friendly company, your own room in the cottage or a yurt outside, good food and the opportunity to learn the craft of yurt making.

We also have a small organic vegetable garden we are managing and are also trying to sensitively renovate our lovely stone cottage if these skills are of interest. The more hands the better!
