We are a family of four living and working on a large hill farm on the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland. We have approx 1500 sheep, 80 cattle and are looking for individuals with farm experience to come and help us on the farm from April-August. During this time there will be a lot of work with sheep including lambing, shearing and also gathering the sheep from the hills so a level of fitness and like of walking is also needed. We also run a holiday cottage business and some help with changeovers and maintenance is required there.

The person(s) must like animals as we have 6 dogs, 2 cats and various chickens, ducks, goats etc

You will be needed to muck in but also the opportunity is also here to see this beautiful island. A car would be good but not essential as we are quite remote and not on any public transport routes.

It is important that you understand that this is a remote location. No pubs or shops nearby!!

I need a helpful and friendly person for two weeks from the 20th February. No smoking in the house. You would five hours a day, for six days a week. You would be made very welcome and live and eat as family, no special diets available. Your own bedroom. The work is simple as I am modernising my house and garden and need help to lift brick paths and stack the bricks ready for re use and remove tiles from the house walls and stack. No skill is required just a hard working attitude. I live in a beautiful small town on the South Coast of England. It has a railway station with trains to Gatwick Airport and London. My house is five minutes walk from the railway station and also only ten minutes walk from the sea shore. There are many historical places of interest nearby, such as the Portsmouth Dockyard with the Victory, Nelsons ship; Warrior the first steel ship; and Mary Rose museum and ship, which sank in 1540, with many recovered Tudor objects, clothing and goods used by the sailors... more inside

Looking for a couple or two friends to help with interior painting and reclaiming the vegetable garden from the weeds in the first two weeks of Apri 2017,

Lots of walking, skiing and historic buildings locally, and bus links to the north. We are 2 miles from local village, so evenings spent on the farm, usually walking dogs or relaxing ( free wifi).

We are a working farm, with cattle, sheep and grain as the commercial enterprise and Highland ponies as a hobby. There are also the usual dogs, cats and hens around the steading. The farm is about 10 miles outside Perth looking over the scenic Earn Valley. The land starts in the valley and rises up to 800 ft on the hill. There is an erratic local bus service, so this would suit someone who doesn't mind living as family.

We can provide a large bedroom (suitable for 2-3 friends), shared bathroom and food with the family. Transport to Perth with excellent links to the rest of Scotland available. Free accommodation and food. Work ... more inside

We are looking for some fit and capable person/s to help with conservation land management - mainly clearing scrub woodland, fencing and repairing bridges. We live in North Devon in the house that we built between Dartmoor and Exmoor on the land between two rivers (Taw and Torridge). We have a small farm with sheep and cattle a few chickens and a dog.
The helper/s would have their own room and bathroom which is at one end of our house and has its own entrance. We would like 4 hours work a day 5 days a week in return for accommodation and food. It will be hard and rewarding work!
We have table tennis, tv, wifi, bicycle and plenty of books. There are regular buses within walking distance and a nearby train service to Exeter and Barnstaple and we are happy to help with lifts.
Do get in touch if you are interested and we can talk things through

We are looking for help with renovating the house and gardens. Wooding, hedge laying, forest garden, fruit and veg growing, landscaping, building and decorating.
Projects we have in mind are an off-grid cabin at the top of the land and an earth sheltered greenhouse. We want to have a wood-fired hot tub and maybe one day, even a sauna.

This place is truly wonderful, with amazing views and fantastic walks from the door step. We moved here in December 2013 and there is always plenty to do. There is something magical about this part of the world that we love and would like to share with others. We have been volunteers both at home in the UK and abroad. We would welcome people who have practical skills but who are also interested in learning.

We are up for people staying for about a week, to work hard in return for good hospitality.
We will also offer folk an opportunity to get out and about, see some of the beautiful places nearby and maybe check out some other interesting proje... more inside

Family home about 40 miles from London (30-45 minutes by train). We need a positive, supportive helper with good science and maths from February onwards to help teenage son who is studying from home (A level/baccalaureate level) - so you need good English. There could also be some gardening and practical work around the house. Weekends and evenings free, accommodation and family meals (or cook your own if you prefer), good base for London, Southeast England and the West.
