Hi!

We are Angie & John, a couple in our fifties with a large garden, a dog and two cats. We enjoy having people from around the world to stay and sharing cultures.

We would like a couple that enjoy being outdoors and working on the land. It would be a plus if you have interests in permaculture and organic gardening.

We have a permaculture garden in the process of construction. The work will mostly be on the garden, accept on the rainy days where there would be a few odd jobs around the house such as seed sewing, cooking dinner, painting and dog walking. We try to keep the work interesting and varied. We expect 4-5 hours a day 5 days a week, with two full days off.

Stroud is a small town with plenty of countryside to explore, with beautiful scenery and alternative culture.

Look forward to hearing from you

Angie and John

I am looking for enthusiastic helpers to help me finish my 'tropical garden' and patio. Most of the ground work is done but there will be some digging and levelling, not too much heavy work. Skills such as carpentry or permaculture or gardening and advantage but a good attitude is more important. Planting and sorting borders.I have a old cat, 8 month old puppy and 20 yr old son. Semi vegi friendly family home, great coastal town, smoking and drinking not a problem! Buzzing, youthful, arty, gay friendly Central Brighton and the sea is 15 mins away by regular bus. 15 mins from the South Downs for fantastic country views and walks. Happy to be flexible on arrangements about working hrs and food etc

October (2016) is planting season! I have a wildflower area to seed and ready to lay a clover lawn. Some work also needed to turn lots of railway sleepers into a retaining wall.

We live in the beautiful Tywi Valley, on the edge of a village. The countryside is very lovely around here and we are surrounded by wonderful places of historic interest, several castles (Wales has 400), the constantly changing and developing National Botanic Garden is only 2 miles away and Aberglasney 7 miles. It would be a pleasure to show off the wealth of beauty and culture we have here. The culture of Wales is quite different to that of the rest of the UK.
Five years ago we planted a young but good sized orchard, now it is in need of pruning, we also need some help putting a bit of order into the garden and fence and some hedges.
We also have bees, several hives, and are keen on keeping the environment as friendly as possible to wildlife. Goldcrests, wrens and nuthatches and woodpeckers are often seen and feed around the house.
Our spare room has two single beds, and I could make another room available, you will have your own bathroom. I love cooking and you will be well ... more inside

• We would expect you to do odd jobs, some housework and garden work when the weather is decent.

This is a very busy guest accommodation business with an excellent reputation. It is set in a very tranquil location with stunning views on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, and boardering farmland. Helpers would be required to 'muckin' and help with all general housekeeping duties accompanying the running of the business. Laundry, cleaning, making beds etc. There is also much needed help internally and externally with house maintenance and gardening. Would suit people who love rural living

There are a number of renovation jobs happening on the farm at the moment as we are renovating a cottage and there is a lot cleanup work gardening required. Also support in the house with meals, childcare and housekeeping is always very helpful.
Old Farm is a small unimproved lakeland farm, which has been in the family since 1954. It is located 1.5 miles from the nearest village, Hawkshead, a pleasant half an hour walk or short bike ride away. Three generations live on the farm now, Lisa, daughter Becky, son-in-law Mike and three small children. We keep ponies, shetland sheep for meat and wool, goats for milk and a few hens. Produce from the animals is sold direct to customers as well as at local fairs and markets.
Although uncertified, we follow organic and biodynamic principles when we can, using predominantly hand tools and human power to get jobs done. Walling, scything, fencing, mucking out, goat milking in March after kids are due, log splitting, gardening and general anima... more inside

It's coming up for that time of year again when the garden needs an autumn tidy up, the last of the fruit and veg picked, beds prepared for the winter and polytunnels tidied up. The autumn fruit picked and turned into jam along with some strimming, watering & weeding, composting, tidying & weeding. If you have any carpentry or joinery skills we have a few projects you may want to help us with - repairs to storm damaged polytunnel doors, building some planters, etc. If the weather is too wet or windy we will head indoors to do some painting, household chores and making jams, cleaning windows, etc.

Our place suits HelpXers that are hands-on, independent and practical and most importantly interested, love animals...chickens and dogs.... and don't mind getting your hands dirty...work is laid back and the radio is always on. We're not a farm...just a regular house with a very large allotment style fruit and veg garden where we grow our own fruit and veg.

We're Amanda and Stev... more inside
