Hello!

We are Katrin and Maia and we are sisters. We live in the village of Arbizu, which is located in a beautiful mountain valley called Sakana, only 30 minutes away from Pamplona and Vitoria.

We live in the same building but in different houses. I (Maia) live with my husband and two children and my sister Katrin lives on her own.

We are looking for someone to help us learn English by talking to us in this language. You would also help housekeeping and sometimes looking after the children. In return, you will be given a single room in Katrin’s house and food.

We love meeting new people; you will have the chance to socialise with our friends and family and enjoy our culture and wonderful landscape.

We look forward to welcoming you…

Maia and Katrin

Hello!

My name is Jordi, I live in a nice spot near the sea. My house is quite small but it has a big garden (600 square meters) with local vegetation (olive trees, red pine, eucaliptus, rosemary and a tiny kitchen garden in summer) In this property there's a mobile home that you can use during your staying here. It has kitchen, small fridge, double bed and a table convertible in another bed as well. We will share the house bathroom because mobile home has no tap water yet.

My purpose is to exchange accommodation and meal for some help with the overgrown garden. I don't know how much it can take, no more than two or three days I guess.

Not special garden experience is required, basically there are fallen leaves to collect in big bags, and not much more.

If you have no car, an alternative way to reach that village is by bus www.sarfa.es from Figueres. Then there's a 15 minutes walk uphill and downhill from the bus station to my home. Or I can pick you up at the bus ... more inside

Hello
I don´t speak English, a friend writes this for me, therefore ideally please write to me in Spanish. I would prefer someone who can speak some Spanish. One of the reasons to come into Helpx is to learn some english.

I´m a Canarian guy, 37 years old. Since 2 years I live with my dog Tatan, in the town Tuineje, Fuerteventura island, in the Canary Islands, in a canarian design home I build up with the help from my brother. There are still lots of things to do as it is a new house you could help me in the vegetable and ornamental garden, with painting,... also we would be sharing the work in the house as we will be living together... the idea is that you can help me as if it would be your house and you want to finish it nicely. its not hard work that you would be doing. also i should mention that i am wont be home a lot of the times, so you would be spending time alone regulary.
Saludos
David

This is an old spanish farm, located in the sIerra (mountain) Alhamilla at 32km of Almeria. this place is like an little oasis in the dessert with view on the sea. Brigitte and Jean Luc the owners, are cultivating organic crops for there own consumption, and trying to live differently respecting nature and environment. the house is solar panel generated, and water comes from the source. this place is a bit isolated (7km of track) for people who like peaceful nature, reason also why Brigitte and Jean Luc want to share their self-sufficient project to young and older people. the spoken language is French or Spanish.

I'm an artist, and I am in the process of finishing off an organic dome/cave house and garden.I'm also building an organic vegetable garden, and fish pond. The house is run on solar and wind power. I have neighbors who live a similar lifestyle. The environment is semi arid, and surrounded by mountains, so good walks and views available.I'm primarily looking at hosting a liberated female, who does'nt mind getting a little dirt under the fingernails. This kind of lifestyle can be a bit tough for some, including myself, so a little femininity around the place would help to smooth off those rough edges.

I live close to the main buildings, the best restaurants, the nicest places and the beach. I'm searching for international people that want to help me with publicating advertisements of apartments, showing people around in Valencia and to help me with promoting my apartment in your country.

I can offer you a room in the center of Valencia in a house with other students or helpers. It is a shared house with people in between the age of 18 and 30.

There are lots of places to go to, like Albufeira at 15 minutes away from the house, the beach or the lovely city center.

I don't have a limit staying time for helpers, but we can decide this depending on the work for both sides.

I expect people to work about 5 hours/day, rest in the weekends, preferably from 9H to 14H. The rest of the day you are free to go. At the beginning I will show you around and teach you what to do, so that you can do it yourself after a few days.

About the meals, I don't have possibilities to pro... more inside

We are a married couple. Chris, Fiona, with our 16 year old son, Nicholas.
We have 4 older children living in UK.
Chris is an engineer, retired'ish. If it's broke, he'll fix it! I'm a House Wife and Mother, When I'm not in 'support mode' for Chris. I enjoy arts and crafts. I knit, sew, paint, draw etc.
Nicks is 16! He's a Lounge Lizard. PSP, Xbox etc.

We have no mains any thing. No water, electric etc. We collect rain water for use in the house. We have a septic tank for waste water, so must be a little careful what we put down the loo/drains. We generate our own electric via solar and a big generator. The use of things such as hair dryers, hair straighteners or any other item with a heating element is either Special Occasion or Emergency Use Only.

This is not an eco project. It's just what we have to do to live where we have chosen to live. We have no postal service to the house, we have a P.O. Box in the post office. There is no rubbish collection. We have to recycle all ... more inside
