Hi
We use to travel as often as we can (Morroco, india, Israel, Australia, eastern Europe, New-Zealand…) and we found a great way to go on travelling while we’re in france : hosting volunteers !
We are a friendly french family : Christophe : healer (osteopath) and meditation and Qi-Qong instructor, Maud : writer and actor's director, with 3 easy going children : Lin 12 years old and Enki 4 years, Zacharie 1 year and a half.
Lin is a great French teacher, he is very talkative! And you could teach him some English too.
We share our time between 2 places :
- Our house which is situated in a beautiful area with fields and forests, close to a small typical village, not very far from Paris ( 2 hours by train). Here we are restoring our house which is really in the nature .
-And our family house on the Island "île d'yeu" which is a small wild and amazing Island in Vendée (South brittany) . Here our kids spend most time on the beach...
We live in an ecological way, we use dry comp... more inside

We are a non profit association growing aromatic herbs which we transform into products that we sell in local shops and markets as well as further afield. Our eventual aim is to create employment for women in our beautiful area where jobs are scarce. Our plants are organic although we don't yet have a certification. We need help weeding, planting and harvesting! For more info about me, Lesley, see host listing 5474, which is for a now finished eco building project and has helper reviews. Accommodation for this project will be in our beautiful new strawbale home!

In the South of France, close to the city center (2km), the Maison Carree, Arena of Nimes and 35km to the sea, in a old and nice house, we are a small French family.

Happy to share our place (one sunny bedroom for you!), we could appreciate to have a hand for our 2 lovely girls (of 6 and 10) during school holidays in France... and we could be very happy that they continue to practice English (we have just spent one year in Australia).

A bientot

Hi,

We are Melissa and Francois, a young French couple. After travelling (Europe, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Madagascar, Australia...), we decide to come back to our dear Britanny!
Now we are just leaving the city to go live in a fantastic old farm. We've completely fallen in love with this place. An old bakery, a well, many fruit trees, a wonderfull soil, lots of butterflies, it's a peacefull place 30 minutes from the sea and from the Mont St Michel and also 30 min from the city.

We have many projects for the future but first we need to renovate the old farm. As François work professionally in construction he has the required skills to do this from start to finish ourselves and we would be more than happy to share these competences with you. I (Melissa) am project manager in the social area, and I worked befor with NGO.

The accomodation on the site is quite small but confortable: sofa in the share house or caravan, hot and cold water, a shower, electricity, intern... more inside

Hello dears,
Are you looking for a truly unique experience?
We have a Castle in the north east of France. On the property we have all manner of animals such as horses, cows, peacocks, chooks, dogs, etc. We also have a small vegetable garden and many fruit trees.
We employ a fulltime groundskeeper but he often has trouble getting through all the tasks on his own. That is where you come in...
We are looking for volunteers all year round to help him with maintaining and improving the gardens and grounds. Tasks would include weeding and planting, basic repairs such as fences, picking and preserving fruit, feeding animals and mowing. If you decide to stay with us you would have plenty of spare time to explore the grounds and castle, which is the best example of neoclassical architecture in France. We also have fishing, horse riding and hunting facilities.
This is great opportunity for those of you with a keen sense of adventure and romance, in true French county style and elegan... more inside

Hi helpers !

I'm Anne, I live in an old family's house with a huge garden and orchard. I'm 55 years old and am looking for some helper(s) to help me take care of the garden and the house which need some carpentry ( painting, electricity, moving stuff too heavy for me...). Every one is welcome, I provide a room and board in exchange of the work.

My home is in Charmoy, the nearest train station is Laroche-Migennes ( 1h20 from Paris ) and the nearest city is Auxerre, 30 minutes by car or 20 minutes by train. I can take you to Auxerre if you want to discover it, it's a nice city full of history.
Around Charmoy, we're in the countryside of Bourgogne ( Burgundy ), there are nice walks to do and some hikes and I have a bike you can use !
Bourgogne is the land for best wine, cheese, snails ! You'll have a real french experience here.

I speak english and some german and of course french.
I don't have any animal but if you do, they are welcome !
I would be very happy to lear... more inside

Hello,

Over 9 years we are living here, in what was a very neglected old farm. Since then, we are working to give life that old house, the facilities and the garden and the whole estate of 3 hectares. Our original idea, which is still active and present, is to enable people to live in a natural environment, for little money or exchange for labor or resources. We are lovers and admirers of natural and healthy cultivation vegetables and fruits, also gardening as well as the renovation of the house respecting the principles of healthy living space.
We divided our activities in several categories:
Personal development through the practice of meditation and yoga in the first place as well as therapeutic work with active water, semi-precious stones and plants - and this is what we can offer to you to see, learn and practice;
The another field of activity is gardening through the principles of permaculture (and bio-dynamism) - we are growing vegetables and some fruit and we maintain... more inside
