Beautiful, 10 acre life style block with a few cattle, a young dog and chickens, only 6km from the nearest swimming beach. We have mountain bikes for you to use. We are brand new to helpx but have had wwoofers for over 20 years so are used to working with young international visitors.
You get 3 nutritious meals a day in exchange for 4 hours work and we offer separate accommodation with toilet and a shower.
Our property has established orchards, vegetable and flower gardens. Martina is a full time florist working from home and Pedro is a landscape architect. They both lived self sufficiently on an island for many years and have a wealth of experience.

Want to experience a slice of heaven? We are lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful spots in the world (well we think so anyway!)and we would love a bit of help.
We are a family of 4. The 7ha property, the sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and dog keep us busy but we always ensure we find the time to enjoy all that this amazing location has to offer.
We live right on the waters edge on the beautiful Taiharuru Estuary 25 minutes from Whangarei. With our own private beach at the bottom of the garden we enjoy sailing, kayaks, fishing and other water activities. The area boasts some great surf beaches and walks.
We need a bit of help with a variety of jobs including gardening, fencing, pruning, building a vegetable garden, looking after the animals, cooking and cleaning and generally just helping out. Some of the work will be hard so you will need to be physically fit and prepared to put in the effort.
We want you to feel part of the family and accommodation is in the house... more inside

We are a family living in Tutukaka. Children are 7, 5 and 3 years old; we are homeschooling, so they don't go to school. David, who is from Glasgow (Scotland), works full time in Whangarei and Silvia, from Madrid, is a full time mum. Silvia lived in Argentina for a while and enjoys drinking mate daily. We are looking for somebody or a couple who is from a Spanish speaking country as my children are bilingual: We'd like you to speak to our children in Spanish only. If you'd like to learn English, David would be happy to talk to you in English in the evenings. We'd like you to help us with the children in their daily activities: reading books to them, going for nature walks, playing cards and board games, origami, Lego... Basically playing with them and engage with them. Children don't watch TV or play with video games: they are screen free and adults in the house don't use their screens in front of the children to set an example. There would also be some housework to do and a little ... more inside

We are looking for cheerful and enthusiastic helpers who are happy to work 4 hours a day as well as help with the dishes after dinner!

In return we will provide a bed, three meals and invite you to join in our daily lives.

We are a family of four. (Titouan (9yrs), Maris (16yrs), Nova (18yrs) and Autumn (the Mum). We don't all live at this house at the same time, the children have every second week at this house. So some weeks are busy and there is a quiet week.
We also have two flatmates. So if you like a big social house then you will be happy.

We all (Mum, kids and flatemates) surf so we are often at the beach after work and on weekends. You will always be invited to join! We like music, food, surfing, being social and spending time outside.

Autumn is a school teacher and principal of the nearby country school

French speakers are especially welcome because the family is traveling to France next year. So having French speakers would be really useful.

We eat eve... more inside

Hi, Steve and Joanne here.

We live on a pretty quiet 7.3-acre lifestyle block in Ruatangata, about 25 minutes north of Whangarei.

We need lots of odd jobs doing, repairs, renovations and improvements to the house, we have started a free-range egg business on our lifestyle block, so there are about 800 chooks along with 3 goats, a fat lazy cat, rabbits, another cat, 5 sheep, 2 cows, 4 of useless ducks, some Kune kune pigs, some proper pigs, piglets, 300 chicks (from August 20th) and a three year old daughter.

It's just beside a kiwi reserve so you can often hear them fighting or mating at night. No noise pollution and views of the stars are pretty amazing on clear nights.

We are pretty easy going, and just looking for some help really. We are a working farm, and we are trying our best to make things great, but this house is definitely a work in progress, so things can sometimes be a bit chaotic, a bit messy and suits people who get stuck in, and up for a little bit of... more inside
