Me and my son Spencer would be happy to welcome you to our farm.

We have a unique property situated on 45 hectares of bush and pasture overlooking the Firth of Thames in the Coromandel region.

We are looking for friendly, open minded and motivated helpers to assist us in our daily work.

Your help will include doing some gardening, cleaning, cooking, as well as general repairs and maintenance for the coming season. Jobs can however vary depending on our current needs. Mostly we just ask that you work alongside us at the same pace. In exchange for your work, we offer all your meals and comfortable accommodation.

A standard working day would start at around 9.00 helping prepare breakfast, clean the kitchen up and the cottages. The rest of the morning will be spent helping on other daily duties. You will have most of the afternoon off to relax at the swimming holes, take a bush walk, hike, or rest in your own accommodation. Then at around 5.30 - 6.00 pm you will be helpin... more inside

A quiet serene area that has been turned into a holistic Sanctuary, no mains power here, 100% off the grid, solar power and gas and hydro is how everything runs here. Focusing on wildlife protection. Lovely to hear the Kiwis at night. Seperate kitchen facilities. Holistically run which means no poisons, and considering the whole environment in everything you do.

4.5 acre property located 3km from Coromandel Town and right next to the 309 Road. The property is next to a river and contains many fruit trees. I have free-ranging chickens and ducks, doves, 2 cats and a dog. Accommodation is provided in a 7 metre bus which sleeps 4. The bus has a kitchen, but bathroom facilities are located in the main house and shared with my 11 year old son and myself, a 36 year old single mum. There is also plenty of room for pitching tents. Help needed mostly outdoors and includes weeding, pruning, clearing vegetation, gardening, depending upon skills also minor building work, painting etc. It's very varied depending on what projects are on the go at the time. Flexible days/hours to suit, very negotiable. Fresh eggs, fruit and vegetables are available depending on what is in season, but you will mostly be responsible for your own cooking. Very happy to share meals depending on schedules. It's a beautiful, peaceful space without being too far from town. A veh... more inside

This is a beautiful lifestyle block on the Kauaeranga River, where we run a couple of cattle about 50 sheep, several beehives and a couple of dogs. We are right on the river with a great swimming hole to cool off. The accommodation is a comfortable, self contained barn conversion that has its own cooking facilities and toilet amenities so the helpers can have their privacy. At the end of the road is forest park with lots of great walks and tramps and more water holes. We need a couple of helpers aged 23+ for clearing weeds and farm work for 3 hours a day. We will provide food and accommodation. We are interested in self motivated people with work experience and are LGBTQ friendly.

Please note: no helpers needed at the moment.

We are guardians of a small conservation block at the top of the Waitawheta Valley, situated 5 minutes off the Karangahake Gorge, 10 minutes to Waihi town and 15 minutes to Waihi Beach. The land sits at the northern gateway to the Kaimai Forest Park (by the entrance to Waitawheta Track) and a short stretch of "Deans Track" crosses our property.

Our main project is restoration of a significant wetland on our property. Currently 6 acres, we are working to restore it back to cover the entire low point of the land - approximately 11.5 acres. We have small tasks to do throughout the year involving hand-releasing (weeding around) immature trees so they don't get overtaken, preparing for planting, propagating seed trays at the local community nursery and actual planting of trees.

At the moment we welcome travelers with their own sleeping van/bus to park up at our house and use our cottage like their own (shower, toilet, lounge, tv et... more inside

We offer short term accommodation, including all meals, in return for light gardening tasks. Our previous helpers have generally worked for half a day and then gone exploring the many delights of the area for the second half. We aim to give our "helpers" a "stay to remember"
