We run a lifestyle block as naturally as possible to provide food for ourselves and our family. I am a homeopath and incorporate this into our animal and land care. We also have day jobs in town. Our animals include chooks, ducks, cows, sheep, pigs and dogs and we also have a vege garden. We need help with gardening and general lifestyle block work.
In exchange for the help we can offer accommodation, lunch and dinner (we are not breakfast people so you would need to organise breakfast yourself and we do not cater for vegetarians). We are located in a lake side rural environment that is only 15 minutes from Rotorua and easy access to all the tourist attractions. Rotorua is close to beaches and the mountain if you are into snowboarding or skiing, mountain bike tracks, lakes, great walks and much more.
As there is no bus service where we live so you must have your own transport.

Private house with 2 adults and occasionally university son(s) home. Only 7 minutes drive to central Tauranga. On local bus route. We would love someone with construction skills to do some house repairs, including tiling in the kitchen. We also have a garden that needs work. If you have any of these skills, please contact us. We would also welcome someone who could help with some cooking and housework. I work full time and my husband is semi retired and a great cook!

Our house is a mid-century 4 bedroom which we are renovating (slowly) with large gardens that need constant attention. There is a city bus stop nearby and we are 10 minutes drive from the Waipa mountain biking tracks and Whakawerawera thermal village. We are 5 mins drive from downtown Rotorua and the city hot pools. We also have WIFI. We have loved having Helpx. Those helpers who have come to stay with us have done a fabulous job and we have really enjoyed getting to know all of them. There is always gardening, housework and cooking meals. However right now,(mid June 2018) we need help with a second major renovation project inside and out which we need to get done by the end of June! We are non-smokers and mostly organic vegetarian. Trish is an artist and Martin enjoys drumming and mountain biking. Contact us by emailing so we can see your profile, and then text us, especially if you want a quick response as sometimes we dont check our email daily. We look forward to hearing from you.

NAUMAI, HAEREMAI. Welcome! We are an older couple living on ancestral land in the sunny Eastern Bay of Plenty and when we aren’t visiting friends and family around the world, we are busy growing, harvesting and packing avocados and feijoas for local and export markets. This keeps us pretty busy with feijoa season lasting from late March through to early June, then pruning takes over until about the end of July. Then we get a bit of a break and head off orchard to visit our two beautiful grand children living in Australia and some travelling with Volunteer Service Abroad until avocado season begins around the end August until Xmas.

It is quite a big orchard and takes up a lot of time and energy, and as we get older it gets harder to keep up with our vege and flower gardens, all the other usual jobs and of course travel! So, here we are looking for help for up to 5 days a week for at least 6 hours a day in exchange for food and board in a private cottage with full internet ... more inside

I am a semi-retired grandfather living on a lifestyle block in the country. My 3 bedroom farm cottage is a 2 minute walk to Lake Rotorua, the golf course and the local freshwater springs with lovely walking and bird life, 45 minutes to the nearest surf beach, 2 hours to Ski fields and 2.5 hours from Auckland.

Rotorua is a beautiful tourist town with many lakes, natural hot pools, geysers, forest walks/hikes, adventure sports, many picturesque lakes and streams, fishing and traditional Maori culture.

I am a self-employed builder by trade, and have a few cows and chickens on my property.

I enjoy watching sports, drinking craft beer, and relaxing at the local hot pools. I go to watch my son play rugby most weekends at a local club, you’re welcome to join me if you are interested.

I need a couple/friends or one fit and able person to help with feeding animals, weeding gardens, pruning trees, tending vegetables and blackberry bush removal for 4-6 hours a day ... more inside

We're a bit busy with work at the moment and don't have specific projects on the go, but would consider hosting a lovely person to help with cleaning/gardening/weeding type work.

We are a couple of empty-nesters in the final stages of finishing a new house and garden project. Having lived overseas, travelled widely and adventurously, we raised our family in Auckland and decided to settle in the Bay of Plenty after returning to NZ a few years ago.

You’ll find we are open-minded, creative and fun loving. We have a critical mind, an interest in many subjects and appreciate good conversation, artisan food and a wide range of musical genres (literally from opera to drum ‘n bass). As an international couple - Peter is NZ born, Sylvia is originally from Austria - we love the opportunity for cultural exchange.
Our young dog is a delightful part of the household.

We eat wholesome food, much of which is lovingly made from scratch including all our sourdough bread. We love seafood ... more inside
