Gerda & Eric Helpx,
As spring has arrived, we are back in the garden and are waiting for helpers to contact us. We have an acreage of land set amongst farmland (mostly grain farming) in Bannockburn which is approximately 90km from Melbourne. The closest city is Geelong, which is 20km away. Bannockburn can be reached by bus from Geelong. We are close to The Great Ocean road, Bells Beach & quaint coasters al villages.

A little bit about ourselves: we are a retired couple who have lived in Victoria for the past 10 years. We moved here from Queensland to be closer to our grandchildren. Our daughter & son in law are on the farm and we are close by to help out with the children. Eric has a sailboat which you will no doubt be able to go on weather permitting . Eric was a boat builder when we lived in France and now uses those skills to do DIY projects around the house. I (Gerda) enjoy spending my time in the garden, looking after my grandchildren & travelling around the world.

We ... more inside

Looking for a helper from the start of NOVEMBER 2018 for one month.

We are a friendly family of 4. We have two girls aged 8 and 10. We also have a friendly dog. I work part time and my husband full time. We have traveled a lot in the past (I`m originally from Scotland, Tim is from Melbourne) and we think Helpx is a great opportunity to meet people from different places and share our beautiful city and the Aussie lifestyle with you.

In the past couple of years we`ve had several helpers come and stay with us and it has been an amazing experience and we`ve made some wonderful friends.

We live in Melbourne`s Inner West. We have a lovely, recently-renovated house a few minutes on foot from Footscray train station (trains take 10 minutes to the city centre). The local area has fantastic cafes, plenty of excellent ethnic restaurants, markets and a thriving arts scene. Even though we are so central, it feels like our house is in a little backwater as the river is so close and we... more inside

There are a dozen beaches within walking distance of our house and our property is situated on a quiet street close to town.

We need help with child care, house duties, gardening, and general maintenance. We can offer a room with two beds, a shared bathroom and would like someone or a couple who are flexible and willing to work 4-5 hours per day. So work until lunchtime and then hit the beach.

I have 2 ponies and a dog to look after. If you enjoy riding then Mallacoota is the place for you.

Guest House Seeking Helpers All Year Round!

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Dear helpers, in 2017 i participated in a help exchange trip in Japan to help restore an old Japanese house with recycled materials. There i learnt patience, community support and emmence kindness from the local people. It was truely a great experience.

I wish to continue this exchange in Melbourne and invite people to help maintain my guest-home and furniture workshop. The house and workshop are about 20 minutes train ride from the city. Tasks includes gathering wood, starting fires, cooking Vegan meals, making recycled candels and general gardening and cleaning.

We love for helpers to join us to do 4-6 hours of work daily in exchange for meals and accommodation.

Here we live a minimal and environmental Vegan life. This includes no use of electricity at night. In winter we light the fireplace to keep warm and candels will be use instead of electric lights. Sometimes we have an exh... more inside
