A bustling place with lots going on! Two to four of us live here, and there are volunteers who live locally. We run a residential centre for courses and learning holidays, there`s a weekly community cafe, and a Yoga studio. We have 3 acres of garden, outbuildings and paddocks. Hens, ducks, Kune kune pigs, and a few sheep. Vegetables grown on raised beds and in a polytunnel. Would appreciate volunteers with building maintenance skills to help mend leaky roofs, make gates etc! Work is in the vegetable garden, early morning animal feeding, and mucking out. We often need help baking for our cafe. Help is also with general catering, cleaning, and other domestic duties. Always lots of washing up.

We can take helpers for short or long visits (if they are the right person/people!) We also have working weekends about once a month. We invite potential volunteers to look at our website before applying, and tell us why they have chosen us in particular.

I have recently moved to England and have an old Victorian house that needs a lot of loving restoration as it has not had much done to it for many years. As the spring is here Im trying to get the garden planted out with summer vegetables, in new raised beds, and I am working in the house removing old paint and redecorating.
Weston Super Mare is on the coast, not far from the vibrant city of Bristol. Its an well known seaside town with some very old fashioned aspects such as the pier, promenade and a huge sandy beach, but it has had a lot of attention recently as the famous Dismaland Exhibition by Banksy was held there. The city of Bristol is one of the most innovative cities in the UK with Big universities, art galleries, cinemas, parks and is only a 20 minute train journey from Weston. It also has an international airport.
During the past 20 years I have been living in Spain where I often had Helpx workers staying with me, and I have been very happy with them, so I lo... more inside

Please read this carefully so that I`m able to offer you what you need. This is a lovely area to visit.
Please email initially.

We`re offering two options!
Firstly, we have a lovely Victorian rural cottage, in the middle of Kent, on top of a hill, which is in the process of being improved and decorated throughout. It has beautiful views, a large private garden, and everything you need to have a comfortable stay. There`s a sunny kitchen, a clean living room, new clean carpets, a large bathroom, and easy parking. We provide the food or a budget for you to choose what you want for yourself. The cottage is surrounded by classic English farmland, with many pretty footpaths, and traditional pubs within easy walking distance.
(It doesn`t have any more than basic furniture, or wifi (wifi can be accessed at many local places, and you can also come to our home for wifi which is a 30 minute drive)

In return for staying here we ask that you tend the garden. These gardenin... more inside

Hi, Im Fred. Im 38 years old and Ive been studying several foreign languages for a few years. I have low intermediate Spanish, French and Italian, and lower Russian.

Ill happily host native speakers of these languages for 1-4 weeks at a time, in exchange for a few hours language practice per day. I can only host 1 person at any time.

I`m looking for easy-going, sociable, happy and open people who want to experience cultural Liverpool and who will want to get to know whoever is living in the house at the time.

You must be a native speaker of Russian, Spanish, French or Italian. If you`re a speaker of Russian, you`ll need to have a high level of English. If you`re a speaker of Spanish, French or Italian, it`s not so important.

Helpers will be required to help me with learning their mother tongue, but you will have plenty of free time. Language practice will be for approximately 2-3 hours each day. Even when we`re not practising, I would prefer to comm... more inside

Beautiful views and a lovely rural setting close to an alternative town with plenty going on (Hebden Bridge) nestled between Manchester and Leeds in the South Pennines. We are also on a bus route and near a train station.

We would love people to help us with our newly acquired smallholding. We are a couple with a dog, cows and chickens. You would be staying with us as part of the family.

We have meadows with a stream running through. Our plan is to develop the meadows for wild flowers, generate woodland along the stream and create a pond area to increase biodiversity. We also have a small veg plot and orchard.

We are not registered organic but have an organic sensibility. We do things by hand and don`t use weed-killer, fertiliser etc. We have a scythe and can teach you to scythe.

We need help with whatever we are doing. If the weather is fine we`ll be outside, removing problem plants, generally weeding, planting, painting, building dry stone walls, ... more inside

Hi, we moved to our home in North Dorset August 2014. It is a farm in a beautiful area of England. We have 3 children aged 20 - 12, 2 dogs and a cat and are preparing for beef cattle. It is a very friendly area, and the train station is close by. We planted 17000 trees over the last 3 years which need some help maintaining. We are establishing a garden, renovating a barn, making doors, painting. There are lots of different jobs to do from helping on the farm, to the garden, to cleaning and cooking in the house. If you have carpentry skills, brick laying or building skills, that is useful but not necessary.

We recently finished converting a barn to a large studio with a kitchen, it is attached to the house but quiet and private with great views. We may be prepared to let the right helper(s) stay here on a longer term basis (maybe a few months). But shorter term is ok also.

We just started to need Helpx now in August after a break of 1 year.

The hillside property of Treflach Farm has been in the family since 1904. For the majority of this time the farm was a traditional dairy farm reliant on petrochemical fertilisers, feed supplements and red diesel. In August 2006 I (Ian) returned from working abroad to start a new business on the farm to prove small scale agriculture can be environmentally aware, promote biodiversity and remain viable in a difficult and competitive market such as food production.

Today Treflach Farm:
Operates an on farm butchery and bakery
Is an employer both on the farm outside Oswestry, Shropshire where we look after the land, animals, run courses and make pies, and in Hatfield, Herts for delivering into London and the SE
Is a real working farm with free range animals
Distributes chilled food products on behalf of national award winning chefs and food producers

The proceeds from these activities are re-invested by a Community Interest Company providing horticultur... more inside
