Not long moved onto our new farm, a 26 acre small holding in the beautiful south hams area of South Devon about 10 minutes drive to Dartmoor and 25 minutes to the beach and close to the amazing and very alternative and interesting town of Totnes. We need a hand in getting things set up. This will include helping to work on the old barn and make it into a better space to work in (any carpentry/building type skills would be great but don't worry if not). Then we have lots of poultry (chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese) and 17 pigs to look after/muck out/sort pens and houses for and would like to get set up for the arrival of sheep and maybe alpacas or Llamas and a couple of small cows in the future plus lots to do in the vegetable area etc. etc. We would like to build a Cob and glass greenhouse (subject to getting planning approval) too so anyone with Cob building experience would be amazing. Ideally we would be looking for someone who has their own accommodation (camper or caravan) ... more inside

What do I need right now?
Want a summer stay to pitch yurts, Install hot tub, help in vegetable garden, and might help professional builder as labourer to put a retaining wall in, drive digger to dig out the pond and other holes we need, all close to the best surf beaches of Devon, want to stay longer to get this project off the ground, give me a shout. There is no water/shower facilities on site yet, have not bought a fridge yet! This is basic living! You need to read the rest of my text below and respond to it..No kids sorry.

How did I get here?
Well, my daughter and I were supposed to start building a timber frame house in 'Wikihouse' system from scratch on a 1 acre paddock/orchard in Kingsbridge, South Devon Coast, South West England from Mach 2020. Thats not gonnae happen is it? But for two reasons:The pandemic, obviously, but also that Eda has decided to continue traveling as a journalist through South America and I have to rethink management, as I am working full time ... more inside

I own and run a small farm and campsite (in the summer months) on the stunningly beautiful and 'wild' north Pembrokeshire coast.
I grew up in Wales and after university, lived and worked in London for a number of years. During that time I travelled extensively to many parts of the world.
I returned to Wales to renovate the house and farm over a decade ago.

THE AREA
The farm is situated on the coast between Fishguard and the small city of St. Davids with its ancient cathedral.
There is direct access to 3 beaches, the cliffs and the world-famous coast path.

There are lots of activities which include hiking, surfing, kayaking, music, photography and arts and crafts to name but a few.

THE FARM is a small traditional farm with a flock of Welsh pedigree sheep and several horses.

CAMPSITE.
We have a "nearly wild" campsite in a very large field with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and the ocean. It is limited to ten pitches and visitors love the s... more inside

Welcome to Brickworth Farmhouse :-)

We still need help & you can self isolate in our annex. Our fruit & veg are going crazy now :)

We are seeking help to run our wonderful 325 year old farmhouse, which is in a beautiful rural setting in the countryside of Southern England.

The house has a walled garden, an orchard, a paddock and poly tunnel and is situated in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, nestled between the historic city of Salisbury and the New Forest, one of England's most treasured forests and heaths, abundant with life & wild ponies.

We are also close to Stonehenge and the spiritual town of Glastonbury and the South Coast Cities of Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth. The area is steeped in history, attracts many visitors with all kinds of interests and offers many opportunities for outdoor activities.
We are well connected with transport services and London and the Roman City of Bath are just over an hour away by Train.

I am looking for help in the garden for 2 weeks or up to 2 months, as soon as it is safe to do so with regard to coronavirus. Jobs include weeding, clearing, maybe making a small wildlife pond (hole already dug) and maybe constructing a utdoor kitchen or some garden steps. I am looking for either 1 capable, practical helper or for a couple with energy and experience, to work together. In return I have a lovely double attic room, and adjoining study with a sofa, plus shared kitchen and living room to offer in my cottage, in a very picturesque village just south of Bath (one stop from Bath on the train), lots of lovely walks nearby. I will prepare delicious wholesome vegetarian/vegan food for you and I have a very friendly cat.

COVID-19 update. We arenít currently seeking guests however, when the lockdown fully lifts we will be happy to host. We only have a small spare room with a double. We mainly are looking for help with decorating (experiences trades only) and childcare help, again experience preferred.

Our last helpX guests were wonderful primary school teachers with a lot of childcare experience so they looked after our children while we were working upstairs clearing out the loft. We will probably be looking for help over the the summer holidays, we may be able to offer a stay subject to lockdown ending in exchange for spring cleaning, decorating or childcare. We will be offering 3 days work for a weeks stay or you can do one solid weeks work then have a second week off to explore London and the surrounding countryside.

We are 7 minutes walk to the train station that runs services into London every 10 mins. The train takes 40 mins to central London or 30 mins to London Bridge so great fo... more inside

We live in a beautiful Grade 2 listed Tudor House with 3 acres of ancient garden, meadow and woodland that need developing

***At the moment I would really like some help with setting up a web page IT organisation (female) and the garden so
a couple could work. We have a beautiful self contained studio in the garden that we normally rent out that we are giving over to the Help X project.

Hedge cutting tree chopping May

We also have some work inside and outside of the house itself - sanding, painting, drilling. Therefore it would be advantageous for you to have some skills.

There is generally a lot of repair and fixing up work nothing too challenging but common sense and some experience in this area is required.

We would hope to make your work enjoyable and rewarding , you would be helping us maintain this special place of history which we feel sure you will fall in love with as we have done.

This would be a great opportunity to live and nurture a ... more inside

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OF THE PHOTOS ARE UPSIDE DOWN AND THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE THIS. Even tried rotating the photos before uploading but always end up upside down whichever way they are uploaded??? Anyway hope you can mange by turning screen around. Photo of the farm in Wales is fine for some reason. It is the third photo and is not actually where you will be staying but it is possible to visit sometimes. The other photos are of the allotment and double room in Liverpool where you will be staying.

Double room available in cute three bedroom house. We have a large allotment near to the house where we grow organic vegetables. We also have a beautiful and historic mountain farm in the Snowdonia National Park which we visit occassionally now, it is a great place for a retreat to get away from everything and soak up the fresh air. We grow organic fruit for our own consumption but do not currently have any animals. We also have 23 acres of woodland to manage. It is not viable to ear... more inside

We bought a derelict smallholding not so long ago and moved in with all of our animals. We have a challenge doing it up at the same time as working and looking after the animals. We would love to welcome anyone who would help us tick a few jobs off the long list of things to do and get this place looking and working well again.
There are a variety of activities from animal care to restoring an organic vegetable patch, through to some outbuilding maintenance. The jobs will be as varied as the animals we keep.
We have alpacas, chickens, sheep, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs and peafowl.
We have 7 cria due in 2019, so there will also be plenty of opportunities to help out with alpaca births and mating.

The accommodation is somewhat rustic, but that is only because we haven`t yet finished restoring the bungalow. You will be given an upstairs room and will share our downstairs shower room. We currently sleep in the living room. Upstairs is very much unfinished; it is nearly completely... more inside
