We are a family with two children (aged 3 and 5) and have a small spare room that we would like to offer as accommodation in exchange for some help around the house - including some childcare and gardening.

Ideally you will love children and be happy to spend some time playing, reading and making cubbies while i get some work done. It would work out to be approximately 3 hours of help per day.

We enjoy a healthy lifestyle and eat mostly organic and vegetarian food (although we can cater to non-veg also) and love to cook. We love music but we don't use the television very often. If this sounds like a match for you then please get in contact! You must be a non-smoker!

Our house is very close to public transport and is very conveniently located, taking about 20 minutes to get to city on tram or train. There are cafes, bicycle trails, yoga classes in close proximity.

Hi, I'm an architect builder, currently working on my own place on a beautiful property directly adjacent to the Grampians National Park.
This is no regular build, but anyone who would like to stay and help where they can is most welcome. The building is all from recycled materials and the primary objective is to have fun while it goes up.
The Helpers have their own caravan to stay in and would have to put up with me raving on about environmental design, but a unique experience is guaranteed.
Sometimes I have to be in Melbourne to work, so unfortunately can't fit in with all Helpers, but travel there often so even if you are based in Melbourne, concider coming up for a long weekend. It really is a beautiful patr of the world. You'd be mad to miss it.

I'm preparing to restore an original miner's cottage on a quarter acre block in a tiny little town in the Central Highlands near Daylesford.

Assistance is required to empty an old cottage filled with interesting stuff & sort it out into a couple of old sheds and photograph stuff that could be put on ebay.

Help build another shed on existing footings, tweak the garden a bit and prep cottage for renovation project.
I have most of the bits required to set up an aquaponics garden, so if you are into experimenting and having some fun with that you're welcome.
I could do with an electrician and anyone handy with some carpentry skills.
I have some basic editing and website stuff that could do with someone more adept than I trying to do it. I need to edit together some clips of existing footage to upload to various sites.
It's not the most glamorous work, it's stuff I can't do alone, hence my appeal for help.
I'm a decent cook, I'm not going to slave drive you, I have some ... more inside

My 3 year old daughter and I are looking for a female to share our 3 bedroom home on the edge of the Wright Forest in the Dandenong Ranges. Our 1/4 acre block backs onto incredible walks through nature. There is the beautiful Emerald Lake only 25 minutes through the forest. This time of year it feels like the mists of Avalon!

In return for accomodation and the occassional shared meal I would love for someone to look after Winona for one day and one evening a week (the evening is after her bed time, so its really just being home whilst she sleeps). This will free you up to work the rest of the week. You will have your own bedroom and access to internet. There is a bus nearby and I will occassionally be able to drive you where you may need to go. However if you do work it may be easier for you if you have your own car.

I have been told that we are great to live with. I'm a practical & playful mum, yoga teacher & marriage celebrant. My daughter has an awesome sense of humour and ... more inside

I have a house of 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms on .5 hectares and I do some bed and breakfast and Health Retreats. I try to manage on my own but it is hard. I need some help with painting rooms, oiling decks, chopping wood, weeding the garden, spreading mulch and some general housework. In exchange I offer accommodation and meals. I prefer men as some of the gardening can be too much for some women.

I am in a temperate rainforest but close to the lovely little township of Olinda. It is a popular tourist destination and one hour and a bit to the city of Melbourne by bus and train.

STOP PRESS: NO VACANCIES UNTIL 2013
We live on a 96 acre property at Dixons Creek in the Yarra Valley, 65km north east of Melbourne. Most of our land is forest with abundant wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, wallabies, goannas and dozens of different bird species. It is a bit like living in a nature park.
Our small farm consists of a large vegetable patch and orchard, which provides most of our fresh produce with a small amount left over for sale at a weekly organic market where we have a regular stall. Help is always welcome in the garden as well as with small building projects and property maintenance.
We provide accommodation for you in our spare room with double bed. We also provide all food (shared with us)and is mostly vegetarian. In return we ask that helpers work for around five hours a day. There is a dam to swim or fish in, plenty of opportunities for bushwalks or resting in our hammock. If you have your own transport there are many places of interest for... more inside

I am 74 and single but live with my partner, Grace. Travelled extensively for 25 years. Have hosted o/seas students from France, Germany and Hong Kong. I worked for nine years as a tour guide at Federation Square in Melbourne. Spent 6 years as a city of Melbourne guide for the City Council Tourism Office. I love introducing travelers to my city, as a way of re-paying the generosity shown to my wife and I when in other countries. Some light gardening, or a bit of painting would be very helpful. I am fit and active and have two like-minded children who also enjoy contact with tourists. My profession was as a teacher of Media Studies, Film Production, film history etc at secondary school level , and at University

Welcome to beautiful South Gippsland, an area rich in history and beautiful landscapes. Primarily a dairy farming area, we also have magnificant beaches and National Parks. Korumburra used to be a coal mining area 100 years ago and the Coal Creek Heritage Village is open to visitors free from Thurs to Mon.
We are only 20 mins from beautiful Inverloch beach, and 40 mins from Philip Island where you can see the fairy penquins and Seal Rocks. We are also close to Wilson's Prom, many winerys, the natural vast coastline of Southern Victoria, Wonthaggi coalmine and many other natural and historical sites.
Our property is 5km out of town, and is abundant with birds, including a large family of Kookaburras, parrots and other native animals, including possums, wombats, kangaroos, ducks and frogs. We keep chickens, hens and a rooster that free range and 1 little dog. Our property is surrounded by dairy farms, so there are often cows and calves at the fences watching us!
We have recently ... more inside
