At the moment we are doing a lot of renovation work and need people with some building experience, carpenters, plastering, plumbing painting etc. Our cottage is in the wicklow mountains, little village of Roundwood which is the highest village in Ireland. it is a 10 min. walk from the village.
close to Glendalough a great tourist attraction. great places to go for walks and a good biking track close by.
Accomodation is basic, it is a mobile home complete with kitchen and shower.there is lots of strimmer work, gardening work. need easy going people who are willing to mock in and do whatever needs doing at the time.
Volunteers have to cook for themselves, using mostly vegetables from our gardens that are in season.

I got part of my garden ploughed earlier this year and have started to grow vegetables. I have a rotavator but have been physically unable to do what needs to be done on my own.
I dont expect people to come and do all the work for me but even a helping hand would help to motivate me a bit more to get over the hurdle of starting off. I am an ex chef so good food is promised and I have 2 spare bedrooms with double beds so comfort is assured.
The Boyne valley has also got much to see and do so I am happy to tour guide for some of the time.

I am an artist living in Killaloe, Co. Clare. My daughter and I run an art gallery and picture framing business from our home, in an old farmhouse. What we really need is an extra pair of hands, for 2 weeks or more, to help with the upkeep of gardens, etc. and day to day running of the business and house. This might suit two people travelling together who love old houses, countryside and have the option of the nightlife in Killaloe as well.
We are situated in the beautiful countryside of East Clare, 2mins from the Lough Derg, 30mins to the Burren and 30mins from Limerick city.

I have a farm in the scenic area of Bannow Bay, Co. Wexford. I have a mixed farm with a little bit of everything, mainly cow, cattle, hens, ducks and turkeys. I am looking for a person to help out on the farm for six months, carrying out general farming duties around the farmyard and feeding and tending to the animals on the land. Some light housework may also be required. Comfortable accommodation in the farmhouse with meals provided. The farm is located in a quiet, peaceful area, 15km from New Ross and 22km from Wexford Town. It is also close to many historical sites e.g Hook Lighthouse on the Hook Peninsula, Tintern Abbey and Duncannon Fort. It is also a short distance from many fantastic beaches. The accommodation would be more suited to a female but males may also apply.

The project is the restoration of a disused Victorian walled garden into a Victorian style potager using organic methods. You would be staying in our home (own en suite room with a king size bed, telly and wi-fi) would suit one person or a couple. We can arrange two single beds for friends travelling together.
The garden restoration begins in Spring 2013 so anyone with gardening experience, carpentry, plumbing, electrical or building experience would be welcome but these skills are not necessary to be hosted.

Please contact me for more information.

Large mansion built in the 19th century, located on the side of a hill overlooking the sea, Corrymore House is a famous location on Achill Island because of its history. There are many projects on the go:
restoring the house indoors and outdoors
building a glass house
fencing the property and landscaping
starting a vegetable garden
adapting existing sheds to bring in farm animals

If you have any experience or if you are willing to offer a hand in any of these areas, you are most welcome to come and stay for a while, and also enjoy the charms of Achill: beaches, hiking, cycling, surfing, fishing, traditional music, local food, etc.

We are a family run business living on Inis Mor, the largest of the 3 Aran Islands. We are harvesting seaweed and providing it in various forms to our customers. We are looking for 1 or 2 helpers to come and live with us for a few weeks and help to collect the seaweed from the shore, transport it back to our factory for drying, milling and packaging. The work is only a few hours a day by the shore, 3 - 6 days per week, (harvest times are dependant on the tides). You will learn a great deal about this healthy sea vegetable and its many uses.

We provide meals and accommodation in our family home. Please note that there is a lot of lifting and carrying heavy wet seaweed so for this reason we generally are only looking for males.

If you are looking to get back to nature and experience an island steeped in tradition and even learn a few words of Gaelic then do get in touch with us :)
