Hello, we are a family who have a small area of land that I am in the process of cultivating, and aim to plant an orchard soon. In the meantime, I have a catering trailer that I have salvaged that needs completely renovating as soon as possible. It needs to be made mechanically sound, the rust on the outside needs to be addressed and the cooking instruments need to be made useable. There is a bain marie and some gas pipes. I need someone who knows alot about restoration of this type as I need some guidance as to how to tackle it, not only the inside workings, but also to make it road - worthy.

I would like someone to work for 4 hours a day, in return for which I will provide all meals. I would like someone who is prepared to work intensively for a week or two. I have 3 willing but uninformed men in my house, so you will have plenty of help.. I mainly need someone to provide the know-how!

I live on the south coast of England, in a small village situated between two historic to... more inside

We have a beautiful small piece of land, around 1.5 acres, near Exeter in Devon. We are self building on a budget living off grid our ultimate aim to be as self sufficient as possible. I have 3 fab children, 2 big but very friendly ginger dogs, chickens and a couple of sheep to help keep the grass down when the mower is having a 'rest'. We are hoping to get some goats and some bees in the near future but will need to get some serious fencing fixed up to keep the allotment safe from those (the goats that is not the bees ;))
I work for a charity and also garden so there would be possible opportunities for paid work during a stay. We have a vegetable plot and I have a small, seasonal business selling cut flowers (which i'm desperatly trying to keep on top of) for local market and a wholesaler which creates a little extra income. I have applied for planning permission to start a community green waste composting site.
So we have lots of need for help in a wide range of projects from ge... more inside

A large family Georgian home set in a rural village location close to woodland. The train station is 5 miles away and lifts can be given for access. The village is 35 miles from Cambridge and 35 miles from Norwich. We need help with the renovation of a Coach house, including general labouring, building, insulation, electrics, plumbing, painting and decorating, some childcare and gardening. In exchange for own room - a couple or two friends can share in our lovely family home, breakfast, lunch and dinner - some help may be required with dinner prep/cooking. Wi fi, lifts to the train station and bicycle use. Working would be in varied chunks so that whole days/weekends are free for you to explore the area. Guests are welcome to stay for a minimum of a week.

We have lived at this property for five years and are trying to create a more self-sufficient small holding on our four acres. We have some mature fruit gardens and have planted an additional small orchard and forest garden. We have also planted a 'tree field', with willows and other trees for firewood - our house is heated using wood and solar - and mixed wood avenues which will make secluded areas in the future. We also have vegetable gardens, a polytunnel, bee hives and chickens. We have recently built a straw bale cottage for additional family accommodation, using rammed tyre foundations. We also have plans to build a log store and a yoga room.

We focus on establishing perennial, forest type gardens and using organic practices. There are many maintenance tasks around the property and in the gardens, which is why we require help from volunteers! We ask volunteers to work five days a week and to do five-six hours work per day - this is divided between hard and light physical... more inside

This an old converted Corn Mill and has been a small farm for many years. At present we have an Alpacas, Goats (Boar/G.Guernsey+)and Saanens, chickens and Turkey's on the smallholding, with an area set aside for organic vegetables. We also have two Tibetan terriers called Dexi & Kiesha. We also run an Holistic Centre from the premises. The Mill as we call the place is situated on the outskirts of the village of Penrhiwllan which is between the small market towns of Llandysul and Newcastle Emlyn. The Nearest train stations are Carmarthen (20 miles) or Aberystwyth (33 miles). We are virtually surrounded by woodland and have the River Cwechyr running through the 19 acres which splits the land into 2 lots. We need general help around the place, animals have to be fed, cleaned out and moved around the fields and collecting fire wood. Spring is the time of new beginnings and we have kidding, during the summer months we have shearing of the Alpacas as well as hay making. June is also the t... more inside

Set in one and a half acres of gardens overlooking the Moray Firth, with a private path that leads down to the promenade and sandy beaches, the Invernairne is perfectly situated as a base while visiting the Highlands of Scotland.

In 1879 the locally famous Doctor Grigor chose this prime site on the West side of Nairn to build his Italian-inspired villa and now the current owners Ryan and Camilla look forward to welcoming you on your visit to the Highlands.

Whether you seek sea views and sandy beaches, dolphins and historic castles, or golf and whisky distilleries, choose the The Invernairne for your perfect trip to the Highlands of Scotland.

We are a fun-loving B&B both Ryan and I have traveled all over the world and we can help you plan for future travels from Everest to The Caminos. We have a 3 year old son Maximus who runs around organising keys and driving the lawn mower!

We require a minimum stay of one month.
POSITIONS AVAILIABLE FROM AS EARLY AS THIS WEEK!

My name is Andy and I am 37 years old. I live with my partner Joe in a town called Huddersfield which is in Yorkshire, in the North of England (UK).

I am now an experienced host and started this experience about 3 years ago. I have a rare medical condition, so needed help for this reason when I first started. My health has improved and I have continued with this experience, as I have made some great friends and so the journey continues :-)

I am well educated, traveled and lived abroad myself when I was younger. I enjoy helping or mentoring people who are visiting or planning to visit the UK. My partner Joe is a quiet person who likes reading, art, playing the guitar and takes a great interest in environmental issues. He has also made some good friendships with some of our former helpers.

I am a liberal person who appreciates people of a similar nature who want to learn more about this strange planet we all occupy, care about people and want to learn more about themselves. I... more inside

We are a family with a house under renovation in a small village in a stunning area of west-coast Scotland, within a stone's throw (OK, 5 miles) of Isle of Skye and other major outdoor destinations in this area.

We host couch-surfers short term, but we are happy to have people stay for longer in exchange for some help with the house and the garden. Anybody with any renovation or gardening experience would be ideal but there is also much fairly simple labour including digging and the like.

The helpers will stay in a 4-berth caravan which has electricity (we also provide a heater) chemical toilet, basic stuff like a kettle and a electric plate for cooking if you wish. We can also provide sheets and sleeping bags/blankets.

The house has a shower, washing machine, drier etc but is fairly spartan otherwise.

If you want to stay for up to 3 days please ask via our couch-surfing profile, for longer periods we are happy to have you if we get on, but we would expect some help w... more inside
