We are revovating an old 8 bedroom house. The tasks will be cleaning work (every day), gardening, cooking, furniture building/moving, painting, shopping for food or material, moving things around the site and off site and even babysitting.

We would like a couple or two friends as you will need to share a room or a tent. From April 2016 until July 2016 we are happy to take people for a short period but you may be sleeping in a tent. From September we need a couple or two friends who would like to stay between 6 months and 1 year. You must like cleaning, tidying up and looking after children. You will have a double room.

We ask helpxers to work for 25 hours a week ( food included or 15 hours a week and you buy your own food) including some weekend days and to clean up after themselves and participate in preparing meals and clearing up meals outside of this time.

Hello,

This is a homestay very close to the centre of Birmingham. It is the largest and most populous British city outside London. There are many fun things to do in the area and the homestay is being redecorated. I am looking for volunteers during the month of April to help with the redecoration in exchange for accommodation and breakfast. This involves stripping the walls, painting, laying new floors, running new wiring. Only 4 hours work per day. I look forward to hearing from you!

I live in Marden Henge, an ancient site some 3,000 years old! There is always outdoor work to do here... fixing fences, mucking out stables, & gardening. I live half way between Stonehenge and Avebury, so this is a lovely place to explore Wiltshire from. I am happy to give accomodation and good food and a warm welcome in exchange for help. However, as I live in the country any applicants would need their own transport, or be happy not to go very far! I am looking for help Mon-Fri with weekends away ...... I can offer comfy but basic accomodation. Please telephone me if you are interested.... between 9am and 6pm. Thank you.

Ex Forestry Commission part clear-felled woodland site, now run as an agro-forestry plot or Forest Garden. We use livestock to help manage the plot, provide stock for sale and for our table.

This was a forestry plantation - there is still no infrastructure and facilities are EXTREMELY basic. We have hosted Wwoof volunteers - we find limiting visits to a week generally works for us and volunteers.

Short visits certainly considered - maybe as staging post into or out of Wales. Longer term only considered after we've met and established link

We run our own hill farm beside the sea, 6 and a half miles south of Oban. We have about 500 sheep, blackface and cheviots and crosses . We also run a bed and breakfast business.
We have both travelled quite a bit and we can provide a homely and welcoming atmosphere for someone to be part of the family and help on the farm ( marking lambs, shearing ) or with the B&B. We have 3 children who are 29, 27 and 22 who are all away from home these days.
We have a spare bedroom for the helpx people and bathroom.
Good sense of humour a good thing.
We are rural but only 15 minutes drive from Oban, our local town, limited bus service.
Ideally this would suit a couple who enjoy farming life and have some experience of animals, or are willing to learn. 5 hours work a day in exchange for board and keep and two days off per week.. Preferably minimum of 2/3 weeks and up to a month. Manual driving license useful, and if you are over 25 we can possibly put you on our car insurance policy..

My partner Tom and I live with our baby daughter Ada and our two dogs in the Scottish Borders about 40 minutes south of Edinburgh. Tom works in Edinburgh so commutes regularly.

I am currently on maternity leave and we are hoping to complete some house renovations over the summer, as well as sorting out our garden!

Accommodation will be in our newly converted loft space (or outside in the summer house if you prefer). In exchange we would like help with various tasks around the property such as painting and decorating, gardening and fitting new doors and walls in our garage.

Must like dogs and children - we have two Labrador Retrievers who would love some extra walks and play time with a new face. Help with household chores and cooking while Tom is at work would also be much appreciated, but happy to go with whatever your strengths and preferences are, we can be flexible.

The nearest town is the traditional market town of Biggar (5 mins by car) which provides all the esse... more inside

We are a 4 acre smallholding. We have a large vegetable garden, two polytunnels, pigs, chickens and woodland. Anne is a potter and David a cabinetmaker and we run a small publishing business.
We live in a wooded valley in the shadow of Carningli mountain with the sea and beach just 2 miles away.
We would welcome help with all smallholding tasks including fencing, stone walling, woodland management and gardening duties.
We also have some building projects for 2016 including an outdoor wood-fired bread oven and the renovation of two old railway wagons. Any building/woodworking experience would be a bonus.
