The project is located in a remarkable natural environment, the Célé Valley, in the Lot. It is a question of transforming a dwelling house into a place of collective lodging in order to propose two types of complementary reception:
- eco-tourism accommodation (stopover on the way to Saint-Jacques de Compostela)
- social and / or cultural stays adapted to different audiences (children in difficulty, adults in integration, etc ...)
The place contain a house of 140 m², a barn of 60 m² and surrounding land of 2600 m².
The first step consists in the development of the barn into a dwelling house in order to allow the manager of the structure to reside on the spot in a housing independent of the place of reception.
The second stage will be the transformation of the house into a collective reception area, with the layout of the rooms, the kitchen and the toilets.

We bought a 200 year old house in Cransac and are looking for energetic people to help us in our project of renovation.

OUR PROJECT
We started the renovation last summer but there is still a lot to do. Current projects include painting and decorating, installing our new kitchen, installing new bathrooms, plumbing and general electrics but also some gardening. So anyone with experience in building projects and general DIY is always welcome.
Important point: We are looking for someone able to speak English AND French as well. We don’t speak a lot of French and need someone able to translate and help us deal with the local builders.

An anglo/french couple with a 3yr old girl living in a hamlet 2mins from Rabastans (with train links to Toulouse/Albi/Castres). We used to be Couchsurfers in our insoucient student days, now we are the lucky owners of an old farm house with a massive garden which we'd love to have a hand with in maintaining and fencing. We both have very demanding jobs during term-time in the education nationale so might not be able to help in the week but could join in with at weekends.

In order to help avoid any disappointments or misunderstandings once a helper arrives we've simply lifted the basic pointers given on the site in order to be as succint as possible:

1.Type of help required and number of hours expected

Primarily unskilled garden work - trimming, planting, tidying.

Also got LOADS of potential painting projects inside and outside the house - walls, shutters, exterior walls, sheds etc

For those of you who might be a bit more handy, there's some exterior electrical work, f... more inside

We are Jan and Mary, a friendly Dutch couple, who are currently making their dream come true… we recently became the proud owners of our very own authentic 17th century farm in beautiful Dordogne, France. Our next step is to turn the old farm into a vacation rental. Actually the previous owners already did that, but we want to give the place our own personal touch.

The accommodation and property is a combination of both our names. Once we have received the keys to the property, mid February, there lies quite the work that needs to be done ahead of us. Especially when we aim at welcoming our first guests before the summer starts! And this is where we could use an extra pair of hands, in which we offer a very comfortable stay, an inspiring environment and - who knows - a new friendship in return.

To share our enthusiasm and hopefully to welcome you as our 'new friends, we want to inspire you with a brief description of the story behind our property, former farmhouse and what y... more inside

This gite in the Ariege Pyrenees is looking for help around the garden and with general renovation work. Set in a stunning mountain valley location, but within easy reach of town with bars and restaurants. The gite has a swimming pool and the area is wonderful for climbing, hill walking/mountaineering, skiing and cycling (also the annual Tour de France cycle race regularly passes close by to here).
