Hey there travellers,

We are looking for a fit person to join our family and help us with some projects on our beautiful block of land.

If you are practical minded and experienced we would love to hear from you. Jobs may include hard landscaping, gardening, light construction, window washing or general housework. Good English is required as we can not supervise closely. You must also be compassionate with children as we have two little rascals aged 2 and 4.

We live lightly on the land and like to limit our waste, water and energy use. We have limited Wi-Fi and aim to be low technology around our young children (2 years and 4 years old).

We live in a beautiful but very remote area. The closest town is 30 minutes drive. The closest train station is 45 minutes drive. We are surrounded by lovely beaches (both calm harbor beaches and wild black sand coastal beaches) all within 10 minutes drive. It is best if you have your own transport.

About us:

We live on a small 5 acre lifestyle block, 48 km South of Auckland CBD, that we share with a mad Bengal cat (Head of Pest Control), a Sydney Silkie dog (Head of Security), one horse, four hens (egg machines) and a rooster!

We don`t have children living at home so the help needed is mainly outdoors. With the help of some fabulous helpx helpers we have established the kitchen gardens and we`re now working on general gardens and landscaping so help with this would be greatly appreciated. Help is also needed with all the other tasks that need doing on a lifestyle block such as lawn mowing, planting, mulching, grubbing thistles, paddock weeds and brush-cutting (strimming/weed-eating).

We can only host helpers for short stays of up to a week, and would prefer mature, practical-minded people with a few years life experience, that can work independently. None of the jobs are difficult but do require a reasonable level of fitness. Non-smokers only please.... more inside

We would like short-term help (2-5 days) to work in the garden and get some extra tasks done - such as paving, stonework, planting. You will need to be physically fit and strong and have experience in paving and concrete work.

3-4 hours of work per day per person will give you 1 night accommodation and breakfast and evening meal.

SORRY, AT THE MOMENT I HAVE TWO LONG-TERM HELPXERS STAYING WITH ME SO I DON`T NEED ANYONE. THANK YOU.

Hi, I live in Auckland with one flatmate. If you speak SPANISH or JAPANESE fluently, you can stay in my home for a few days in exchange for teaching/speaking to me in one of those languages. You don`t have to be a native speaker, although that would be great. I know many Europeans/Asians are multilingual, unlike many New Zealanders! I work so you will have plenty of time to yourselves to study English, work or go sightseeing. However, you must be serious about helping me improve! In return I offer a comfortable single room, free internet use, use of bathroom/balcony etc. My place is near a shopping centre with cafes and a movie theatre. It is also close to Auckland`s CBD. I will do my best to give you lots of advice in Spanish/Japanese regarding travelling in New Zealand. Arigatoo/ Muchas gracias.

We have an adorable 3 and a half years old daughter, Maddy. We are friendly, flexible and respectful. Maddy is clever, articulate, socialable, focus, and has a good sense of humour.

We have a 3 hectares cliff top land on Waiheke with a panoramic view. It has nothing but just a cabin. We are hoping to develop a small dwelling for the family to enjoy and rent out as a tourist accommodation. You are welcome to stay over at Waiheke at your free times. Our main dwelling is in Mission Bay. It's a five bedroom house on a peaceful street. We are located only 7 minutes walk from Mission Bay waterfront. Mission Bay is a lively seaside suburb. It's a beautiful walk to St Michael Joseph Memorial, Achillies Point look out, Kelly Tartlton's, Okahu Bay, Kohimarama and St Heliers'. You will have your own private double bedroom, wifi, use of communal areas like part of the family.

We are looking for someone who loves and respects children. Ideally, you are engaging, bubbly and responsible, an... more inside

Over the next few months will be general maintenance.

Pecans nuts need to be harvested. Then, over the winter the is plenty of general maintenance and pruning. I generally work with you.

We are 'half way' up the Kaipara Harbour's South Head peninsular, and some 70km north west of central Auckland. We grown chestnut and olives, plus other fruit trees. Helpers would assist orchard maintenance and associated activities, and harvesting chestnut and olives in season, .

Chestnuts harvest starts in mid-March, for about a month, and then, in due course, the olive harvest. And then there is always general orchard maintenance.

Now restoring two Chevrolet 1929 trucks - one a tip truck, the other a van. Assistance couols be useful - a mechanic or a cabinet maker/boat builder/kitchen maker.

Chestnuts fall from their trees - in our orchard around second week of March, and go on for another 4-6 weeks. The fallen nuts need to be picked up every 2-3 days - with our vacuu... more inside
