We have just under 3 acres of land just north of Auckland but within easy commute to the city, local shopping and beaches.
Our property is still under development so we need help building fences and paths, landscaping, planting, weeding, digging drains, building ponds, creating gardens, housework and cooking. We have a large vegetable garden and a 6 year old orchard. We have been practicing organics on the property for 9 years.
We have chickens, parrots, 2 cats and a dog.
We now have little Molly who is quite a character.
We offer internet. We need a couple who is happy to help to do gardening and general maintenance outside building a playground and clearing bush. We can get you and take you back to the Albany bus station but your own transport gives you a lot more freedom.
Look forward to hearing from you.

A nice little farm with a clear running stream through the property and with some restoration/conservation areas of native bush.

We have a small flock of Suffolk Sheep, free range Brown Shaver Chickens, Khaki Campbell Ducks and a very small stone and pip fruit Orchard etc.

We try to be environmentally friendly and we live our lives sustainably as we can.

We have a keen interest in wildlife and nature generally, particularly in birds and bird conservation project work and especially in Australaisian ornithology.

The property is within the Waitakere Ranges foothills area and is approximately 5 minutes drive to Waitakere village or 25 minute drive to Henderson, the largest town in West Auckland.

Tasks we would appreciate some help with on the property vary a bit but are mostly around gardening & weeding, re-vegetation, a little home renovation & handyman type jobs, possibly some house work, and farm tasks too!

We are a fun kiwi married couple living in paradise with 7 small dogs, 2 mini horses and 5 chickens. We live outside a beautiful town called Warkworth, 45 minutes drive north of Auckland CBD.

We are: Jasmine 40 and Sharyn who is 43. We enjoy a wide range of activities including: bushwalks, boating, art, playing board games, video games and much more. One of us smokes green daily for migraine/arthritis relief/fun and we smoke green inside. Sharyn is a dog groomer from home and Jasmine stays home often as she is in chronic pain and some days does volunteering.

Our home is small with 3 bedrooms. Our property is a lifestyle property with a lot of native bird life and a beautiful creek. There are many beautiful nature walks and stunning beaches nearby such as: Omaha Beach, Pakiri Beach, Goat Island, Tawharanui Peninsula, Dome Valley walk and so on.

PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT REQUIRE ANY HELPERS AT THIS TIME.

We retired in early 2019 and sold our beef farm.

We live now on a 3ha block with olive trees and no livestock at all.

From time to time we may need house sitters to stay and look after our cats and dog.

There may be other times in autumn and early winter that we may need a helper or two to help with grounds maintenance.

In exchange for your help for four hours a day we offer you accommodation and meals in our home with your own separate bedroom and bathroom facilities. Wireless internet is available.

You must have your own transport as we are 5kms from the closest settlement at Matakana.

Please be aware that we eat meat and our meals usually include meat. We are not able to separately cater for vegetarians.

Very central location close to Ponsonby Road, parks and supermarkets. Stay with me (owner) and one border collie (dog). Attractive renovated house and garden. Free WiFi. I have one spare room for a male visitor who is helpful, non-smoking, clean and tidy - and who wants to enjoy easy access to central Auckland and explore its neighbourhoods. If you don't read this, or match these criteria, kindly don't apply because I won't reply and you are wasting your time. Note for Helpers: I probably won't consider your request to stay if you put almost nothing about yourself on your profile - so I recommend you make some effort so potential hosts can know something about you before you apply. After all, the host profile usually has a lot of information, photos and some reviews - you should supply that as well!!

Light duties might include regular housework, ironing a few shirts, odd jobs around the garden or small projects. Since I don't exactly run a farm, I do expect you to adapt to our r... more inside

***we are looking for one (1) HelpXer to come and stay***

Hello, we are a Kiwi-Catalan couple in our 40s, living near the centre of Auckland with a big garden that is too much for us to handle on our own. We hosted hundreds of Couchsurfers when we lived in Barcelona and love the cultural exchange that it brings. So, now that we are back in New Zealand, we reach out through HelpX each summer to find people to come and help us with the garden, share stories over vegetrian meals, and learn more about the world we live in.

We are currently looking for someone to help us in late-November with the following project(s):
- Weeding the garden

Who are we?
- Angela (42), from Auckland, postgraduate student. Into food, music, coffee and gardening.
- Gerard (47), from Barcelona, Computer Wizz. Into fitness, cycling, technology and popcorn.
- Rufus the cat (11), from Barcelona, Professional sleeper. Into sleeping, eating, napping and tummy rubs.

Where are we?
- in an Auckland su... more inside

next Opportunity -- from teh 11th November onwads-

Looking for couples/ two friends - it just works better for us - to come for about 7-10 days - We have plenty of work and projects - and so one visit every 3 or 4 weeks will be ideal for us - PS - you will also need to help me launch the boat and go fishing if the weather allows - a reel drag :)

We are a middle aged UK couple who emigrated from the UK 12 years ago for a better more sustainable life - We were lucky enough to buy a 10 acre old campsite in a piece of paradise called Huia which we are slowly converting into a self sufficient and hopefully eco friendly retreat although its a very long project! So far we have established several gardens, two young orchards, chickens and we are working on the power thing! we have also spent a long time repairing BAches, fixing roads, drainage solutions and all the other stuff that goes on when you are lucky enough to have a bit of land.

Our three daughters have grown ... more inside

We are now booked out until mid February 2020.

Great Barrier Island is a remote, stunningly beautiful Island about 100km East of Auckland. Excellent tramping, beaches, surfing, fishing and kayaking. We do suggest you do a bit of research about the island before you make an application

We (husband and wife) live in a large architecturally designed house on 4 hectares of land overlooking Tryphena Harbour
We have a large garden - both ornamental and vegetables from which we eat. While not totally organic we try to use organic techniques to grow our food
We have a small boat and always need encouragement to take time off and go fishing.
We always have masses of projects going on, as we attempt to be as self sufficient as possible - without losing out on the luxuries of life. Our projects projects include gardening, building, websites and making papercrete building blocks etc etc
Great Barrier Island has no reticulated power or water. So we have 8 solar panels, which provide ... more inside
