We are a permaculture place and are interested in people with a keen interest in organic gardening, animals and independent working attitude.
It's all about animals (dairy goats, pigs, geese, chooks, etc) plants, people, art, raised beds, self-sufficiency, wild food, etc. Non-smokers please and no drugs.
We are vegetarians; like working; have dogs, cats and some spiders in the house; kitchen share is essential.

We are also LOOKING FOR A LONGTERM PARTNERSHIP

Nick and I are a friendly couple with two busy boys who love meeting new people. Our property is located on the edge of Kinloch village overlooking lake Taupo. We are surrounded by native bush and have some of the best mountain bike tracks in New Zealand just minutes from the house.
We have been at this property for just over two years and we are slowly developing the neglected gardens and interior of the house. Accommodation is in the house. you will be in your own large room downstairs with your own toilet. We like to treat our helpers like we treat our own family and try to make you feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. We farm 300 hectares of medium to steep hill country, 25 kms north of Taumarunui (closest shopping center), running sheep, cattle and deer. We have a 30 year old rambling 2 hectare (approx.) garden that always requires some work and this is where volunteers will spend most of their work time. While not fully organic, chemicals are avoided especially in the vegetable garden. We are located right at the western end of the Pureora Timber Trail, one of the better known cycle trails in the central NI. We are an hour from Whakapapa Ski Field on Mt Ruapehu & the Tongariro Crossing, an hour from the southern end of lake Taupo, 20 minutes from the Whanganui River in Taumarunui, and an hour from the Waitomo Caves. Own transport is an advantage.
We have young adult children who have flown the nest. We enjoy meeting new and interesting people of all ages.
