We are looking for helpers from 4-3-2018. We live on a fantastic beach front lifestyle block and we need general help with property maintenance; gardening, fence repairs, painting, weeding, firewood etc.
In exchange for 4-5 hours of work a day and good company, we offer food and accommodation on one of the most stunning parts of the coast.
Because this is a rural property there is no public transport close by, so you'll need to have a car to stay with us.
The first three days of your stay will be a trial period to see if we're a good match and will have a fun time together.

We live in a small town only 1 hour from Wellington City either by car or by train. There is a lot to see and do in this part of the country. We've got an acre of land with a house, a few trees and small gardens. We have a small vegetable garden and an orchard with a few fruit trees. We've got a small dog, a bigger dog and a few chickens. Paco and Diego, our Alpacas graze in our paddock. We enjoy being part of this scheme because we love meeting foreigners and speak a few languages between us. Food and cooking are a passion of mine so my guests must not be fussy eaters or have food limitations. We have one spare bedroom that is clean, comfortable and private. This is a fantastic way to get some help, meet people and learn more about other cultures. There is always home maintenance work to be done around here. Contact us if you're keen to experience life in South Wairarapa. We'll do our best to make this a memorable experience for you.

Hey there. My name is Dean, from New Zealand, i normally live 6 months of the year in a wee gypsy village in the foothills of the Balkan hinterland in Bulgaria, and 6 months in India... but in some strange twist of fate i have just done the unthinkable..and whilst visiting fam and friends in NZ, drove past a dilapitated old tavern , fell in love with it..and bought it!
Now i have a quite mammoth task ahead of me working on restoring this old iconic building back to her former glory, but it is a job that is giving me great joy, and appreciation as well from the local community, who are very happy to see the place being loved again.
It is a all timber building over 100 years old, and was built with lovely native NZ timbers throughout.
Time has started to take its toll on the old girl, but her "bones" are good and the potential is enormous.
Yes, the tavern is a beautiful, (and big) restoration project that I have taken on. You will see and feel the appreciation that the locals have... more inside

We live on a block between the Wairarapa towns of Greytown and Carterton with sheep, a few cattle, pigs, chickens and 2 lovely Labrador dogs, Hazel and Lotta. We are about an hour from Wellington by car.
Our four boys are aged between 7 and 18 and keep us super busy-the boys love playing football and cricket!
Accommodation-brand new late 2015- fully self contained cottage, ideal for a couple. Best to have your own car, but happy to pick up etc from train or bus. We're not too far from the river for swimming in Summer; Tararua ranges for beautiful walks, and shops are a 5 minute drive away. We now have a swimming pool.
So we'd like some help with the gardens(weeding /watering vegetable and flower gardens), orchard, and feeding animals. We'll be tree planting in Autumn. We've got some painting to finish on the shed to do as well. Always something to do. We'd love to welcome you to our little corner of the beautiful Wairarapa.

Hi we would like one or 2 people who would like to stay for up to 1 week (but we are flexible), please note photo 1 is of our previous property, but it does show the caravan.

The sort of thing you will be doing includes; general gardening, spreading mulch, weeding and helping in the house,
You don't have to know a lot - we will teach you, if you have a willing attitude that is all you need.
If you are a Mandarin or Cantonese speaker, we would love to learn something about the language and culture as we are both English language teachers and would like to teach in China one day.

We used to live in Ohau near Levin growing hazelnuts, (photo 1) and hosted many helpexers there, but we have just built a new house on a large block of land. On which we want to plant food bearing trees.

We have a warm & comfortable caravan(we have electric blankets and heater)that sleeps up to 4 people for you to stay in, with views to the Tararua Ranges. ( The beach is at the end of o... more inside

We are a mid-fifties couple - both work professionally but live on this little patch of paradise 2.5km from the lovely village of Greytown. We have pigs, sheep, cows, chooks, cats and a dog!
We also have over 100 quince trees which we harvest in March/ April and a few other fruit trees as the land we live on used to be an old orchard.
We have moved a 100 year old woolshed onto the property and have converted it into a home. It is still a work in progress but is a lovely homely space. We haven't updated our website since we moved in. That will be the surprise!
We would love help with animal care, feeding etc, and general basic block maintenance. We would also welcome visitors who love cooking as they can have free range of the kitchen. Guests sleep in the house (woolshed) - (there are three large bedrooms) and we are happy to provide transport to public transport links such as the railway station of bus stops in town.
