Hi, we are a well travelled, English family of 4, who have lived in NZ for 9 years now. We're are out most of the day, either at work (Phil in Christchurch, Alyson in Rangiora) and our 2 teenage kids are at school in Christchurch.

We have a small lifestyle block that is mostly garden, however we do have a few sheep and pigs.

The accommodation is separate and self-contained, ideally suited for 1 person or a couple. Complete with cooking facilities, shower, double bed, lounge, TV, WIFI etc.

Public transport options are very limited so your own transport is important. There is the use of a bicycle and we can take you to the supermarket. We are 20km from the beach, 25km from the centre of Christchurch, 15km from Rangiora and 30km from Oxford.

We are offering accommodation only, although you are welcome to join the family meal occasionally as circumstances permit.

We are looking for 2 hours per day per person to do odd jobs around the house and garden. We have a long li... more inside

We live about ten minutes from the small town of Cheviot and enjoy a lovely setting in the country, surrounded by farmland. There`s a big garden, and the house is very comfortable, with good wifi too.

Our main requirement at the moment is to have someone here to look after the place as we are away quite a bit of the time. We would love it if you could do some gardening and keep the place clean! Taking the dogs for a short walk most days would be cool. It is more of a house-sitting role than a helper role, so would be better suited to a couple or two friends. We will be potentially there in the weekends, and the odd night during the week. Ideally we would like someone here for about three weeks or longer. Happy for you to go off on adventures during the weekend, as the main requirement for house and pet sitting will be during the week.

We live about ten minutes drive from the coast (Gore Bay, a great surfing spot). We`ve got 2 lovely house dogs, 1 retired sheep dog, 2 horse... more inside

We have a nice spacious new home on 2.5 acres that we have been building ourselves over the last few years. We are looking for help with childcare and general household tasks. We will provide accommodation, your own large room, wifi and a nice space to chill and watch some Netflix. You can help yourself to breakfast and lunch and we will provide a meal for dinner. Happy to negotiate how many hours etc. There is a surf beach just down the road and a bus stop into Christchurch 100 meters away. We have bikes you can use also. Lots of places to head away for day visits too. We are a family of four and a very friendly dog.

We are looking for someone to help with our children between the 12th-29th of April. It’s very important that you’ve had experience with young children and more importantly that you have a genuine love and interest in children. We have a 1 year old and 3 year old. The oldest will be on school holidays and it would be great to have an extra set of hands to play and... more inside

Hi,
Help welcome all year round!

We fulfilled our lifelong dream of living in the country and moved to Loburn , west of Rangiora, about two years ago.

We would like to share our lifestyle of living with chickens, ducks, cat's, a dog, two pigs and two horses, goats and a lamb!
Our non-spray vege- and fruit garden provides us with fresh foods.

As you can imagine there is always a lot of work involved with the animals but also with trimming/cutting hedges and trees, fixing fences, weeding garden and mowing the laws, feeding and cleaning chicken-huts and building new shelter for the animals.
In exchange for 4 hours of work a day we offer accommodation in a spacious and cosy double bed room (or single bed room) with your own bathroom, breakfast, lunch and good dinner, wifi, laundry, and good conversations.
Minimum stay 4 nights.
We are unfortunately on a non-bus-line, so would be great if you got your own transport, if not we can pick you up in Rangiora, no problem.

My place is in beautiful North Loburn which is situated approx 10 min north of Rangiora. I have horses, sheep, chickens and a friendly cat and dog. I have accommodation only so you would need to provide your own food.
The cabin is fully equipped with a beautiful wooden undercover outside kitchen. It has its own bathroom with a great shower and a compost toilet. The Cabin is very rustic and has a really nice relaxing atmosphere.
Work would include stacking wood, some handy man/carpentry work etc.

Two hours work a day for accommodation.
I work part time so am away for some of the day/evening. You will need to be fairly self sufficient and be happy to work by your self at times.

There are good walks out this way, Mt Grey and Mt Thomas are close by and the beach is 20 minutes. Rangiora is a great little town with good cafes, picture theatre, pool, spa etc.

Your own transport is recommended as there is no public transport.
