This is a family home.
2 adults Stuart and Jackie
3 children Ethan 9, Imogen 8, Amber 7.

The kind of help we are looking for is light house work. Kid playing, gardening, cooking, kitchen cleaning. Or some small handy person jobs -shelves up, hooks, etc.

We are happy to do all these but we usually have to let one or three of these go in the week to get through. If we had someone around who was present or helping with one or more of these items it would make our lives so much happier!!

We love cultural exchange.

We live right near a train station and a major shopping centre. We also have a local pool and gym (workout).
There is a room with a fold out couch (extra comfy) double or we do have single mattress if sharing is not an option.
Bathroom is shared with family.

We are fun family that you could join on adventures or go do your own thing. Happy for time exchange- no need for everyday if there is an opportunity to see something during the week.

We are a retired couple & have a 3/4 acre garden and grow a few plants from our suburban home and sell some at 3 local markets each month on the Mornington Peninsula.
Our house is large with a bedroom & bathroom for helpers either single or double beds
Work would entail outdoor work, watering, cutting back plants general gardening work and assisting with market preparation
We have had lots of young people live & work with us over the past 20 years & still keep in touch with many of them. We live in an interesting area with beaches, vineyards & walking tracks within 5 kms, Kangaroos are not quite in our backyard but not far away.
We have bikes you can borrow to explore the area. We are vegetarian but eat fish so are happy to provide you with healthy meals. Work is usually 4 hours a day with two days off but we particularly need help on fridays and saturdays to load and unload plants for markets.

Home is a large old weatherboard house in beautiful Sherbrooke, in the Mount Dandenong Ranges. This dear old place may one-day soon again become guest-house, like it was 100 years ago. Mdeantime both house and garden need plenty of tender loving care.

The hills are a popular destination, with native forests for walking, public gardens, villages, cafes and galleries. See: http://www.villagesofmtdandenong.com.au/

Sherbrooke itself is made up of a state forest and a mountain village. It is recognised internationally as the home of the Lyrebird, and many native birds visit us daily.

Sherbrooke is one hour drive east of Melbourne city, or 1 hour on the train from Melbourne to nearby Belgrave.

As a busy professional household this year we have been grateful for helpers' assistance with yard-work, household chores, firewood management and painting. We have a large organic home vegetable garden. Skills needed now include gardening, stonework, fencing, painting, carpentry and bu... more inside
