This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000.

We have a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mudbrick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian.

Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with learning, and share of household tasks, including food preparation from farm ingredients. Depending on your skills and interests and our needs, tasks can include caring for our vegetable gardens, orchard, goats and chickens, chee... more inside

Hi, we are Ana (French-Venezuelan) and Padraig (Irish) a couple with 3 kids (a newborn, 2 y/o and 4 y/o). We live in the beautiful suburb of Eltham (45 min by train to the city). Green and lush, living in Eltham is almost like living in the country yet within comfortable commuting distance of the City. We are only 5 min walk from train station. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops locally in the town and again all accessible by walking distance. We live in a 3 bedroom house, the kids share one bedroom so you can have one bedroom for yourself. We have 2 old bikes that are in great working order available if you want to use them, there are beautiful tracks to explore in the area and also you could go to the city riding if you are adventurous.

We are looking for a single person who could come and help around the house with house work in general, cooking, gardening, cleaning, organising and helping with the kids. I am vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free, my husband Padrai... more inside

Our guesthouse is a beautiful natural property in the heart of the Otway region of the Great Ocean Road. It's about 25km/30min West of Apollo Bay. There is a beautiful green hillside, landscape, walking, rivers, national park. It's a great place to be for a while. I am sometimes busy, and may not always have time to show you around, but you will enjoy the area's natural beauty.

We are a paddock to plate guest house & kitchen near the village of Hordern Vale. We have an extensive vegetable garden & orchard as well as chickens. We are able to feed our guests, family & cater for events largely from our backyard. The main work is maintaining the garden & the property surrounds, weeding, planting, harvesting, mulching raking & pruning. Also, cooking, and looking after the children. Accom for 1-3 people in separate cottage. Also, there is a caravan or guestroom for extra guests.

I have 2 small boys.

You are welcome. Please come and stay for 2 nigh... more inside

Cleaner for the B&B cottage and household cleaning and weeding is needed to make up around 20 hours per week. We are 50 minutes from Melbourne by train and 10 minutes drive to the top of Mt Dandenong and near Yarra Valley. I will need help with cleaning a single bed and breakfast cottage between 12 noon and 2pm. This includes making beds vacuuming and cleaning a spa and shower and restocking food supplies, etc. This is needed an average of 4 days per week which will include Saturday and Sunday most likely. Additionally I also want to start planting a veggie garden and general garden weeding and maintenance. I like a total of around 20 hours per week from each person and these jobs can be managed by one person. Other jobs to make up the hours could be cleaning the main house or other cleaning, maintenance or gardening jobs. For helpers with the right skills I also have large gardens and could accomplish planting out new garden beds, starting vegie gardens, building works, tree prun... more inside

We moved to our farm 3 years ago. It had been very neglected and we are in the early stages of restoring it. There are cattle agitsted here. We are growing 5000 garlic plants, a vegetable and herb plot, olive, fruit and nut trees plus small scale agroforestry and the beginnings of a native flower area.

We are in South Gippsland, 15 minutes drive from surf beaches. It is a stunningly beautiful area. We are 6 minutes from Korumburra town which has bus services daily to and from Melbourne. Aside from farm work we are both artists and I am a musician. My partner experiments with alternative technology. It's pretty interesting here. The accommodation is either 2 single beds inside the house or use of a caravan. We hope the people who come and help us will be happy and really benefit from learning from our work and enjoying the local area.

We need help with weeding, mulching, cutting grass, planting, propagating, picking fruit in season. We are small scale but the work is consta... more inside

I have a wonderful property within walking distance to train 10 minutes in the Yarra valley. I currently have two bedrooms available. I am a professional woman in my late 50s and two adult children 26 & 29 who call in and lots of nieces and nephews in their twenties. I require help with some painting and household maintenance gutters cleaned, lawns mowed. My home borders the Yarra valley wine growing area which offers seasonal work. I also have a house on the Mornington Peninsula walking distance to the beach that also require general house hold maintenance. I would take people to the beach for the weekend. Initially I am offering a week stay with the
option of extending. Helpers must be able to speak English. It is a non smoking house. I eat wholesome food so any dietary restrictions you would need to cater for yourself and take care of your own washing. I am looking for enthusiastic travellers. Must have own travel insurance and working holiday visa. Hours needed approximatel... more inside

We have previously run a large wholesale plant nursery but are now semi retired & grow from home
We now sell our plants at 4 markets a month on the Mornington Peninsula.
Our house is large with a bedroom & bathroom for helpers either single or double beds
Work would entail outdoor work, watering, cutting back plants and loading vehicles.
We have had several young people live & work with us over the past 20 years & still keep in touch with them. We live in an interesting area with beaches, vineyards & walking tracks within 5 kms, Kangaroos are not quite in our backyard but not far away.
We have bikes you can borrow to explore the area. We are vegetarian but eat fish so are happy to provide you with healthy meals. Work is usually 4-5 hours a day with two days off but we appreciate it if you can help us to load and unload plants for Saturday markets.
Although we only speak English we are happy to help to help others to improve their English skills
