We are a highly acclaimed 2.5 acre display garden and rare plant nursery nestled at the foot of the Great Western Tiers in Northern Tasmania. It is a beautiful 1 hour drive from both Launceston and Devonport and is on the main tourist route to Cradle Mountain. It has been described as "the most beautiful garden in Tasmania" (Leo Schofield).

The garden is almost totally pesticide free, has more than 40 heritage varieties of apples, greengages, plums, pears, a highly productive berry patch (raspberries, blueberries and Myrtis ugni) as well as a formal kitchen garden.

We (Matt and David) are a couple in our 30s, who recently moved to this magnificent part of Tassie from Melbourne.

We live in a three bedroom house, which is also on site. Helpers would have their own room with simple breakfast ingredients provided and dinner cooked for you. Although we encourage helpers to hang out with us and help us cook dinner (and enjoy a glass of wine in the process), it`s a gr... more inside

* Picking is finished. Mostly indoor works now.*
Weeding in the veggie garden, housework and cooking is ongoing :)*
St Imre is a vineyard one hour South of Hobart in the small but beautiful town of Dover. Dover has everything one needs: supermarket, cafe, pharmacy, bank, bottle shop, police, doctor`s surgery, high school to 10 years etc. The beach is 20 minutes walk through town, the mountain is behind us. Our property has the vineyard, natural forest, pastures, veggie garden, lakes and creeks. Our wild life and the birds come visiting right to the front door :)
We are flexible with work hours. Some days we work all day in the vineyard/veggie garden, some days we just clean the house, cook/bake or do something in the cellar, serve customers or visit friends, sit and talk, read a book or go for a walk etc. You will be treated as PART OF THE FAMILY, so the help we require is not really like a "job". While with us, you will live the life of a country farmer.

Vineyard work starting now! We are a family of 6 living 40 km from Hobart in South Eastern Tasmania. The house was built by convicts in 1828 and is heritage-listed and beautiful! We have a 2.5 hectare vineyard, as well as having 70 acres of mixed farming with sheep, alpacas, chickens, ducks, orchards and vegetable gardens.
We can host up to 6 people, with general gardening, farm, vineyard and house work available to enthusiastic guests. Hobart is 35 minutes drive, the historic village of Richmond is 10 minute drive, and the East Coast is 35 minutes drive away. A regular bus service runs from our local village of Campania (5 minute drive or 40 minute walk).

We live in the bush in the city on a cute and very sunny spot on the Sandy Bay Rivulet. Our home is only 2 km from the centre of the city but hidden in a valley under the mountain. We are surrounded by walking tracks and close to lots of things to do.

We are keen to offer home stay to meet people travelling and to generally get some help with some domestic gardening, vegie and fruit trees and some fence work.

It would be a relaxed environment helping as a second pair of hands on these tasks. We have a couple of different bedroom options depending on the timing or a very funky retro caravan option.

We are a mum (social researcher), teenage boy (grade 11) and we often have an international student at the moment from Brazil living with us too. We are a home that loves food and conversation.

Let us know if this sounds like your idea of experiencing the real Tassie life. Available immediately and at a variety times so please contact us soon.

HI
Four years ago we bought a 10 acre property on the East Coast of Tasmania within 35km of Freycinet National Park and the famous Wine Glass Bay and 10 km from the beautiful fishing village of Bicheno. Bicheno is the nearest service town with all the basic facilities. It also has several tourist attractions including a tour to the penguin rookeries well worth experiencing. The bus to Hobart goes past the door regularly and picks up and drops off 400 meters up the road at the Coles Bay information booth. (You need to check the timetable as it differs from day to day)

We are a vibrant mature couple who enjoy a challenge and so have taken on a big one here. We are easy going, accepting and happy to share our life skills with people willing to help set up a new venture.

The property has a smaller building that we started operating the cafe ice creamery out off. Just before Christmas we moved into our new building including a commercial kitchen and cafe. We also have an RV Stop... more inside

We are currently looking for one person or a couple to come and help as soon as possible.

We are an active family of six living on a rustic farm and building our house. We grow blueberries and have a big vegetable garden. We live about an hour from Hobart in alternative living style, though we go to the city at least one day a week. We have a big pizza oven, bees and chickens, and love gardening, herbs, working with wood, vegetarian cooking, reading and creating. We homeschool our children (age 10, 8, 6 and 2) and parent in a relaxed style. We like to go camping and have various adventures. We love cooking and eating well (vegetarian) and we try to eat as much as possible from our own garden or locally.

You would stay in a small naturally-built hut of your own, suitable for 1 person or a couple, with own kitchen, electricity, water and wifi internet. You have access to shared bathroom, laundry and composting toilet. We are happy to teach skills as we work together.

WELCOME TO TASSIE!!!

We have a 50 acre property in Snug which is 30 minutes south of Hobart along the coast. We have 3 young children and are busy raising them and working. I am a podiatrist and work in Kingston, and my wife is a silversmith who works from her studio at home.
On the property we have sheep, chickens and bees and lots of native wildlife (including our hand reared wallaby Ruby). The property is within walking distance to the beach, shops, local cafe, bus stop and the snug river.
We don't have much of a veggie garden at the minute because of the local wildlife eating it before we have a chance to harvest, but have a few veggies growing and have a long term vision of a large enclosed area. We farm our own meat so its always available for the evening meal if your not on a vegetarian diet.
At the minute on the farm we are doing a lot of tree planting, earth moving, road building, fencing, firewood collecting and building. There are always projects on th... more inside

Hi! We are Luke & Anita and live in beautiful NORTHERN TASMANIA.

Our home is in the regional, picturesque city of Launceston overlooking the Tamar river.
An easy walk from the town centre and Cataract Gorge, popular with bush walkers and rock climbers.

We are both busy people and run our own small businesses. Anita is a designer maker and works from home.
Luke is a qualified builder, has many many tools and also works at the School of Architecture.

We've almost finished a major restoration / renovation on our home that was built in 1889, though still have a bit to do.
In return for your help we can offer you great accommodation downstairs with wifi, food, kitchen & bathroom.
We do like guests who enjoy a happy mix of being independent and sometimes sharing meals with us, all depends what's going on.

We'd love to hear from you if you have practical skills and experience to help with...

PLEASE CONTACT ME BY PHONE
I live in a farm district, 8km to the nearest town on the central coast of Tasmania.
I am an animal lover and have a dog, cat, some fish, birds and chickens. I have a friend sharing my house so have one spare room.
We both work during the day, so the helper will be able to prepare their own breakfast and lunch and We will prepare some evening meals. We are chefs and work at a local wildlife park.
We are looking for help around the house, garden and with the animals. Helpers must be self motivated and sometimes work unsupervised.
We are smokers and enjoy a glass or two of Red.
If you would like to stay for a week or two give me a call or leave a text message and I will get back to you when I finish work. I prefer phone calls as I have no internet at home.
I offer food, private room and shared bathroom (no wifi) in exchange for 3-4 hours work per day (5 days, 2 days off.)
