One or two mature people welcome to spend some time in South West Wales. We have an old building in the garden that requires some work, mixed with gardening, cleaning, dog walking, and general help, nothing on the list is compulsory, so if you don't like gardening don't let that put you off coming to visit this wonderful part of the country. Any skills, and jack-of-all-trades especially welcome, but as long as you are willing helpers come along and enjoy. Double room available for 1 or 2 persons, central heating, TV, Wi-Fi, Home cooked food, Garden Barbecues, and in a great position to explore the beautiful location. We are a coastal walk from Strumble Head, and we have seals, and the occasional dolphin in the area. Pickup and drop-off from the local station or ferry port. 4 hours a day, plenty of free time, either on your own or with us. Non-smokers only.

We are a busy family of 5, living the perfect life in Somerset close to Glastonbury (perfect except that we have too much to do). We have a large garden in need of lots of work. We are needing at least two people to help tidy and prepare the garden for spring, to help manage a woodland where all of the undergrowth needs clearing and do various other outdoor activities such as build a new shed. Meals will be provided and accommodation is in a room attached to our house but with a separate outside entrance.

Hi Everyone,

Having spent time volunteering and working in Europe several years ago, I set up a small language academy in Leeds for adults who are studying English.

We`re now looking for volunteers in the summer months of July and August.

We`re looking for friendly people who are native English speakers, and who would be interested in staying in our flats with the students helping them practise their English. This could be speaking English with them socially and at meal times, assisting them in their volunteer work, or taking them out on trips to nearby places of interest. If you`re interested in seeing the area, it`s a great way to do it as we pay for your expenses.

In general, you will be completely free in the mornings, and then you will do a 5 hour shift either in the afternoon (2-7pm) or the evening (6:30-11:30pm).

You won`t be expected to teach any English lessons, however if you are TEFL qualified this is a definite plus for us, so please let us know.

A 200 year old cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud. It has a good size garden on a slope with woodland above and is located in a conservation area within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 25 mins walk from Stroud town centre and has recently undergone major refurbishment which is still ongoing. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep...great for forest walks and there are lovely lakes to swim in nearby.. English, Spanish and French is spoken. Helpers stay can camp in the garden in and share facilities like kitchen and bathroom with others in the house. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days p/week. I have a toddler daughter who lives with me half the week and she's very easy going and sweet. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to m... more inside

*** AUGUST helpers needed!!
At the moment we only have space for helpers who are willing to camp (bringing their own tent, sleeping bag etc) in exchange for just 2-3 hours work a day plus 2 days off a week. Do drop me a line if you are interested :) ***

Set on the edge of the pretty fishing village of Beer on Devon's south coast, this 39-bed Youth Hostel is in need of a willing helper over the coming months to help keep it looking it's best.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer food, but you will have full use of a kitchen to prepare and cook your own meals.

The work here at YHA Beer mainly comprises of 4-5 hours a day of cleaning (inc making beds) with some occasional gardening and painting, and with 2 days off a week.
It`s not particularly glamorous (can include a fair share of cleaning toilets!) but the reward of living in this lovely village just a 10 minute walk to the beach, I think, makes it well worthwhile :)

GARDENER(S) NEEDED FOR ONE - TWO WEEKS FROM c.28th JULY. This would suit a couple of person who would love a rural retreat in Scotland for a week or two. My regular gardener is away for a few weeks and so I need someone to come and keep the garden and grounds in condition - someone happy to work unsupervised. We are located in stunningly beautiful Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. It is a Natural Sanctuary consisting of 14 acres of woodland, meadow, a river, organic garden. There is a main house, a cottage which is rented out, and various outbuildings including an insulated caravan. This lovely project is currently up for sale. My partner from India visits for 4 months every year and we travel around and run singing workshops. Comraich is sanctuary for wild life and biodiversity, having held events such as woodland and foraging walks, singing and nature based spiritual workshops and maybe more animals. The environment will suit people who really enjoy nature. Will suit one/... more inside

We live in a cottage with an extensive garden (extensive to us!) of 2.5 acres. There is a stream, a pond, woodland, allotment and lawn space - several gardens in one! We need help clearing, maintaining and landscaping the different areas of the garden. This might be clearing brambles and nettles or clearing mud and undergrowth from the pond or other tasks like this, depending on what we are working on at any time. Some of the photos show the areas of garden we are working on - still in a mess! We will only want help at certain times of the year depending on our projects and other business - always worth checking.
We have a beautiful, hand-built shepherd's hut that sleeps 1-2 and a stunning Mongolian yurt that sleeps 1-4 so depending on anyone else staying, you can choose accommodation. Either way, it's an outdoors experience with a bit of comfort thrown in - but camp life (including camp fires) is what you'll be getting stuck in to. We live in a very rural area so peace and ... more inside

Welcome to wales. Stay in a farmhouse surrounded by nature, and help to look after and walk Sled dogs and Sheep dogs.
You can also learn about dog training, handling and grooming, if you want too.

This is a peaceful and secluded farm in the Welsh countryside ( with WiFi ), a quiet place to get away from it all, maybe do some meditation and get in touch with nature.
Dog Training, Dog Handler training, Rehabilitating aggressive dogs, and Sheepdog training are some of the things that happen here.

The work is cleaning kennels, refreshing water bowls, walking the dogs 2 times a day. First in the morning, and again in the afternoon, and then letting the dogs out for a wee last thing each night just before bedtime. A little help around the farm and in the house if needed.

4 hours of work/walking dogs a day maximum - 2 hours in the morning, and 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon and 1/2 hour last thing to put the dogs to bed for the night.
In exchange for Brunch and evening meal, m... more inside

We would love to have you stay with us for a week or two in this little piece of Cornish heaven. Our 5 acre small holding is in need of initial clearance of buildings, sheds, trees and weeds. Once the site has been cleared the operation will involve erection of stone and wooden buildings, animal pens and associated fencing.

There may be repairs to stone barns, clearing out our river and maintaining the orchards.

If you would like to learn English better,
the local community has many fun activities where you can meet people and learn some traditional Cornish farming skills.

Perhaps you have some experience to bring to the table?

We are happy to house you and feed you well in our brand new guest annex complete with rainfall shower room over looking the quarry cliff face. Try fishing on the river. Feel free to borrow a bicycle and take a trip down the country lanes. We ask for 25 hours per week in exchange for food and board.

In addition to helping on the land there i... more inside
