Myself and my partner,Ali have just taken over the running of a caravan site on the Black Isle 5 miles from Inverness. Ali works full time in Findhorn building eco houses. I look after the caravan park, run some self catered accommodation, work on the family farm and look after our one and a half year old daughter, Anoushka.
Child care is number one. There are change overs in the self catered accommodation and maintenance work. Weeding and gardening. Help with the caravan site. Helping in the organic farm, work is very dependant on the time of year. Basically there is all sorts of things but it just depends on people's strengths and interests.
I hope people will enjoy being thrown in to a busy family and being part of it. You will meet other young people. There are plenty of experiences depending on your interest including horse riding, kyaking, walking, socialising and visiting our estate near Ullapool on the west coast.
Accommodation depends what is available but either a room... more inside

We are a small family run smallholding where we keep 450 chickens which produce great free range eggs. During this spring and summer, we are looking for help with mainly outside work around the smallholding such as feeding the chickens and collecting and packing eggs, grass cutting, gardening, carpentry and chicken hut maintenance. From time to time we need help in our shop were we sell our own products and others that are locally produced. There's always a lot going on here and we are developing our business all of the time.
There is always a lot of cooking to be done for ourselves and helpers so if you like doing this, that is great.

Accommodation is in a separate building which can sleep a maximum of 4 people - this has its own shower and toilet. We are a very friendly household and will treat you as one of the family. We try to make our helpers stay as pleasant as we can and try our best to provide the food you would like as we are very keen on tasty healthy food.

We're a couple who gave up the rat race and set up our smallholding from scratch seven years ago, recently completed our new build house. We have pigs, sheep, ducks, chickens, turkeys (until Christmas), three dogs (in the house) and a old cat who has recently moved in to the house! Gillian is 45 and used to work in retail management, David is a very, very young 72, retired and was a qualified architect who then set up several successful businesses. Of our three dogs one is a bit annoying and looks for a lot of attention from you, but she eventually leaves you alone! We both have private pilots licences and have a huge collection of books for you to read. We live in a lovely rural setting Non-smokers only please!

We're looking for volunteers to take responsibility for feeding, watering and mucking out/ bedding our animals (pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks) which takes around 2 hours (split between morning and evening) plus 2-3 hours working on other projects (gardening/ veg plot, f... more inside

We live on an 11.5-acre croft (smallholding/farm) in the very north of Scotland just 26 miles short of John 'O Groats (the most northerly village on mainland Scotland).
We have Icelandic sheep, Pygmy goats and hens and try to live/run the croft as green and environmentally friendly as possible, everything is done by hand and we don’t allow tractors or heavy machinery on the land.
We have hosted 19 volunteers over the 3 years so far, from England, Canada, Spain, France, New Zeeland.

2017……… This year we need volunteers during May, June and July to help with sheep shearing and preparing fleeces for spinning (clean fleeces, card in to rolags and spinning – if you want to have a go). Hay making (cutting hay with a scythe, raking and turning then hand baling). There will be more raised beds to build, a bit of gardening and putting in the foundations for another room. If you have an interest in cow’s you could spend a day (time allowing) with our friend who has cows and sheep.

We need some good help with the biodynamic vegetable garden, the orchard and the medicinal herb garden. Also carpentry, stone walling, house building skills will be very welcome
They tell me that the food is good, the ambience is peace and you will have plenty of time off to explore, read/write or make music.
Experienced gardeners or farm workers preferred.
The Isle of Lismore, one of the inner Hebridean islands in the West of Scotland, is green, filled with history, wild flowers and kind people. A great place to be. Though the weather can be wet and windy there are also glorious days when you truly would not want to be anywhere else in the world. We are Eva & Sebastian, a homeopath/herbalist and architect. We have been building an eco house and creating an holistic farm from a derelict field. We have planted over 10,000 trees, created a large biodynamic veg and medicinal herb garden and put up a productive polytunnel. Apart from feeding ourselves we also have a small box sch... more inside

We live in a beautiful hillside location in Aberdeenshire. Our property is a smallholding with milking goats, sheep and various poultry. We are converting land for the production of fruit and vegetables, with a number of areas already established.

The help we require varies with the time of year. This year we start kidding at the end of February and from the end of March we start lambing. At other times help is needed with vegetable growing, weeding, fencing and field work. We also need help this year to build a hay store. The minimum length of stay is two weeks.

Accommodation is in a cosy caravan with a beautiful view.

Although we are in a very rural location there is a regular bus service that runs 3/4 mile from the house which is on the main route from Inverness to Aberdeen. There are also train services from both Huntly and Keith which are each 5 miles away.

About us: we have 2 children of 10 & 7 who are homeschooled.

We have a large 5 bedroom house about 18 miles from the centre of Glasgow and 30 miles from Edinburgh.

We are a happy couple in our 50's. I work from the house on the internet. My partner works in Glasgow and from home too. We now have two very energetic, playful young cats, Mylo and Phoebe.

In Spring 2018 we will need help to tidy up and plant the garden area around the house (light gardening). General Pruning, weeding (never ending) and replanting. Pressure washing the driveway and the decking.

The house is in good order and well kept but we have some internal DIY we just don't get round to - painting, some light carpentry. I always like help with general housework, window cleaning, ironing etc.

We also have a large garage and a store room that often requires a tidy up and some organising.

If you have office administration or project management skills, can do some graphic design and help with social media, Instagram, video creation and editing and understand You... more inside

Free accommodation with utilities, Wifi and some meals offered in the beautiful village of Ardfern on the Craignish peninsula - in exchange for some grass cutting, maintenance and companionship. Looking for around 25 hours per week. Happy for additional employment to be sought in the village. Hours, days, terms and duties all negotiable and flexible. Village location with bus links to main towns of Oban and Lochgilphead and from the towns there are bus and train links to Glasgow. GSOH and ability to enjoy a slower rural pace of life helpful. Initially a two week trial then possible longer term extension by agreement between both parties. Main requirements include gardening, light housework and some building maintenance. We can collect on arrival to Lochgilphead or Oban. We have no reviews because we are very new to Helpex. Thanks
