We are a ten acre eco friendly smallholding and events centre located in the beautiful county of Powys on the England/Wales boarder.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, we house a unique range of eco buildings and grow our own vegetables. We have always been organic and developed in sustainable ways, and it is the feeling quality of the place that allows its visitors to be so at home here.

For a long time we functioned as an arts and environmental centre, but now we use the place for appropriate courses, occasional weddings and special occasions. The river, the wildlife corridor, and the views and natural beauty all help to ensure the visitors are stimulated and inspired.

We offer accommodation in our comfortable artistís studio and provide food for preparation in our self catered kitchen along with some home cooked vegetarian meals. As well as this, we offer the chance to practice English, meet interesting people, spend time discovering the beautiful cou... more inside

Hi my name is Jane. I've inherited a 4 acre smallholding on a hilltop in West Wales, with great views and not far from the coast, with beaches, dolphin watching and great walks nearby. It's also in the area where the organic movement in UK first started. My dad kept the land organically for over 40 years. It has fallen into disuse over the past few years of my parents' lives and needs help to resurrect the organic veg garden, greenhouse and general tasks around the house and land. I work from home running and organising yoga holidays in UK and abroad, and I'm too busy with admin to often have chance to do all the tasks necessary on the property and land. My son is around some of the time, but he works away from time to time. I have chickens, a dog and cat. I'm looking for one or two people to help with gardening, maintenance, capable of some DIY, painting etc, in return for meals and comfortable room, hot showers, heating. We have wireless wi-fi on dongles, which is fast and good, ... more inside

Adrian and I moved from the south of England five years ago and live in a comfortable house on the Welsh borders, 25 miles west of Shrewsbury. There is easy access to Snowdonia National Park and the Cardigan coast. This is a truly beautiful part of the country. While we are located in a rural area, it is not totally isolated. We are situated between two villages (3 miles each way!) and we can offer lifts to the nearest bus service (Berriew - 3 miles) or train station (Welshpool - 8 miles).

We also have a small cottage, which we operate as a holiday let - the website for the cottage is available for you to view.

We're looking for a someone to help us out, providing up to 4 hours a day with general gardening/maintenance work. Nothing too technical, just mowing, using a hedge trimmer, cutting back bushes, etc. Also we would like someone willing to help with general maintenance tasks - e.g. painting fences. If you can 'muck in' with helping to do changeovers for our holiday l... more inside

We are looking for help with renovating the house and gardens. Wooding, hedge laying, forest garden, fruit and veg growing, landscaping, building and decorating.
Projects we have in mind are an off-grid cabin at the top of the land and an earth sheltered greenhouse. We want to have a wood-fired hot tub and maybe one day, even a sauna.

This place is truly wonderful, with amazing views and fantastic walks from the door step. We moved here in December 2013 and there is always plenty to do. There is something magical about this part of the world that we love and would like to share with others. We have been volunteers both at home in the UK and abroad. We would welcome people who have practical skills but who are also interested in learning.

We are up for people staying for about a week, to work hard in return for good hospitality.
We will also offer folk an opportunity to get out and about, see some of the beautiful places nearby and maybe check out some other interesting proje... more inside

We moved here in 2012 as a whole new venture, starting off in farming life that we didn't really know much about ! Having spent the last year and a half building up livestock and learning about Lambing, Farrowing and Hatching, we now need to work on improving the land and buildings to work better for us. We have a traditional Welsh farmhouse amongst hills in a beautiful valley, only 20 mins from the coast, with 20 acres of pasture, woodland and river. Having concentrated mainly on animals so far, we are keen to establish some form of produce growing to really become more self sufficient. We are also keen to improve our woodland and riverside areas to promote more wildlife and a place to relax !
We also really want to improve various buildings, with simple carpentry work being needed.
We keep Sheep, Pigs, Alpaca, Horses and raise poultry, waterfowl and pheasants, so there's always some animal care needed around the place !
