I am looking for folk to join me from now...from time to time.... In France.... On my old Dutch barge. Work might be just keeping house..or a bit of decorating or light maintenance. I think it best if only single people apply...not enough space for two extra. You have your own room. Nice bathroom. Vegetarian food only... Comfortable living and a bit of an adventure.
I'm going to be having occasional guests staying so i dont need a helper all the time.... But we can talk.

We are a small organic olive farm, not yet in production. We practice permaculture and the olives are part of a `forest garden` which also includes 200 cork oaks, carob and other trees and shrubs. We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees, dogs, cats, a house pig, donkeys and worms!. Living in a Mediterranean climate we practice several different methods of water recycling and have a biological swimming pool. Help is required with all aspects of a compassionate, sustainable lifestyle.
Meals are vegan, wine is served with the evening meal and we are non smoking. Current projects are spring planting, general forestry and garden management, animal care, plus various indoor projects for bad weather.
Normally up to 4 helpers are here at a time, living as part of a family style community. We ask a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, with longer stays very much preferred. People usually book a few weeks ahead, but we sometimes have last minutes vacancies.

Originally from the North East of Scotland we moved to Central France and bought the abandoned farm in 2008 after selling up in Scotland in 2006 and down-sizing to a camper-van with our two huge dogs and touring around Europe looking for the right place to put down some roots. We are working towards being as self-sufficient as possible-renovating the buildings and developing the land using eco-friendly, sustainable techniques, resources and energy. We have one hectare of land surrounding the house and a further 2 hectares of overstood, abandoned coppiced woodland that we are attempting to regenerate to provide our fuel; building materials; material for basket-making; charcoal-making etc. and just for being a beautiful place to spend time in and have fun!
The hectare of land is divided into pasture for animals and a potager/vegetable garden and orchard for food production. We are joining up these areas to create an all-encompassing "forest garden".
We have recently given up our g... more inside

We are a couple of retired farmers in their sixties.
We have 5 children, who no longer live with us, but that we see regularly.
We have started to fit out accomodations for tourists and we need help to carry out these jobs: earth-straw walls, ceilings, interior furnishings.
There is work to be done , like planting or harvesting, in the vegetable garden which is part traditional and part permaculture. and we have some land around the house where we could need help to water the flowers, trim the hedges or the shrubs and mow the lawn.
we have still some animals in the farm: a few cows, chickens, rabbits that need a little care.

We are a couple, originally from NZ, who live in an old stone farm house on 25 acres in the SW of France.

With the onset of spring we are looking for help outside in our garden, there’s still a little fencing to finish off to keep the deer out so that we can do more planting, and we need help to keep the weeds down.
We love creating spaces around the house in our aim to create a beautiful garden. We would like to clear areas of stones to put down more lawns, strim some walkways in between the big old oaks. And the vege garden needs revitalising ready for this years vege. We have all the tools needed including a tractor and mini digger.

In return we can offer you the experience of living in a very beautiful region of France. The house is surrounded by fields of either wheat or sunflowers, we are 2 kms from our local village which has all amenities and an amazing Irish Bar (like every where in the world). We are 15 kms from a reasonable sized town and an hours drive west of Tou... more inside

As HelpXers, we are looking for a couple or 2 friends, or a single person who is happy with their own company, to stay for a minimum of one month but preferably much longer. We need people who are experienced in DIY and/or gardening skills. Ideally, to stay for a season, so they can learn the ways of the site and get on with tasks without too much supervision.

Current projects involve gardening, flower and vegetable plots, and the continued landscaping of what was a field, grazed by cattle, into wildlife friendly natural gardens with water features and woodland paths . There is also help needed with some woodwork and painting/wood preserving. Other garden tasks could include maintenance such as, mowing, laying paths, strimming, tree pruning, and weeding. We also have an entertaining flock of chickens who need looking after!

Independent accommodation and all food in exchange for work for about 25 hours per week. There is fibre optic WiFi /broadband internet connection on si... more inside

Hi we're a Franco-British couple, Lucy and Roland, with a part-time 10 year old son, Etienne, in a large, large barn - starting to build a house within it. We're currently looking for folk to help from April, as we lack heated space for the winter. 2017 is the "year of the house":

First jobs this spring has included building the missing wall and insulating the stone walls of the barn with cellulose, next step is isolating the south wall with "straw-and-earth" and then plumbing, electricity, staircase, inside walls... And that's just the beginning...

Lucy works part-time at the Ressourcerie de Foix where we give a second life to objects that would otherwise be thrown away. You'd be welcome to occasionally join the team of volunteers there if that appealed.

Lots to keep us busy. Come and join us with the project and the rest of life: garden chickens, conserves, fruit trees, helping friends on their projects...

We've WWOOFing experience (we met when Lucy was hitching t... more inside
