Hello, HelpX-ers!

We regularly need help at our beautiful family farm comprising nearly 1 hectare of arable land within the boundaries of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, in Northern Portugal, a place of truly stunning natural beauty. Great location by the EN-308-1. The property is a few minutes from the Caniçada dam and 2.5 Km from the historical spa village of Gerês.

This property is in an area of the valley with optimal year-round solar exposure (South facing, microclimate), making it agriculturally highly desirable and providing really pleasant living conditions. However, please be aware that, as in most of Northern Portugal, it does rain a lot in Autumn and Winter!

If you are an energetic, nature-loving individual who would enjoy spending some time in a peaceful rural area of breath-taking natural beauty and historical richness, please get in touch with us.

We are also open to exploring innovative, sustainable ideas for land use, and discussing longer-term arrangeme... more inside

I would love one or two people to come and chill out here in Burgau. As soon as possible would be great. We are five minutes from the beach and lots of time to enjoy. I am seeking people who are willing to assist with taking care of the guest house.internet stuff, odd jobs and maintenance, fixing stuff and lots of gardening. Must be fun. Contact me as soon as possible and let me know how soon you could come here.

This is an old Portuguese Estate House that has been lovingly restored into a guesthouse. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and upstairs bedrooms have private balconies. There is a charmingly converted rustic barn to the rear of the main house which sleeps up to 6. The guesthouse is open year round, often filled with guests who return year after year.

A tranquil but stimulating stay for independent helper(s)!

We're working to create a simple, peaceful, low impact space for learning, self growth, creativity and healing on an wild quinta among the foothills of the magical mountain of Monsanto, as part of a broader local *un*intentional community.

We're always looking for self sufficient helper(s) to assist for a few hours each day, 5 days a week. Our situation best suits people with a live-in vehicle or camper, but we can accommodate 2 or 3 people in caravans with basic facilities. There's also plenty of space to pitch tents. We offer one shared meal each working day, but guests should be mostly self sufficient beyond that. A stay of at least 2 weeks is suggested, and preferred. Perfect if you're interested in getting to know the area around Monsanto, Penamacor, Castelo Branco, Idanha a Nova, or are just interested in experiencing a simpler life.

With far reaching views and a varied landscape of hidden valleys and peaks, t... more inside

Hey we are Manuel & Zuzu, living on a small farm with three pigs, 2 dogs and cats.

We have mixed roots, Manuel (29) is half Portuguese and German; whereas Zuzu (26) is a mix of German, Lebanese and Swedish. We are an active couple, enjoying surfing, ninjutsu & yoga for instance. We love to travel, meet different cultures and we especially love cooking and eating good & healthy food (as you are what you eat).

We try to get back to the roots by being self-sufficient and working in harmony with nature isntead of against it.

We look for volunteers, that share the interest of a healthy lifestyle and would want to exchange work (4h a day, 6 days a week- but we are flexible) for food, accomodation and the experience of living with us on our little farm. We only just build a little house on the land here and there are heaps of projects to do.

Currently we need someone with experience in wood work- a carpenter to help us with some construction work.

We are excited to meet ... more inside

Looking for a helper for 2 weeks, possibly longer, for general help around the place, in exchange for food and accommodation. We really need someone to help us renovate one of the houses. This includes painting, tiling, general work. This is a rural location, but not isolated. This is a permaculture-based small-holding. There are 3 families living here, and several like-minded people living in close proximity in this valley - which makes for an enjoyable and varied social life here. Musicians welcome!

We are a dutch family of 4 who have lived in the Algarve for nearly 13 years. Up till now, we had a beautiful eco-lodge, renting a yurt and a gypsyvan. Fate has it that we lost everything in the forest fires that raged through the area of Monchique beginning of August.
We want to turn our hill into a happy and green hill again! Our dream is to create a couple of eco living areas for families to join us on this journey. We have learnt a lot in the past 12 years, and it feels like a chance to start again, now applying those permaculture principles we were not aware of before.
We un-school our two kids of currently 8 (Ravi) and 9 (Ayla), and would very much like to have families with kids, so they can play together, learn, interact...
If you like to help building up a place from near scratch, with possibilities of staying, you are very welcome to get in touch.
We cannot offer you accommodation, since it burnt down, so you need to have your own van, which you can park on your own p... more inside

Hello Helpers and travellers of the world,
our farm is situated South Portugal, close to the border between Alentejo and Algarve. Because we are in between two beautiful landscapes they collide and the diversity is enormous. We have Oak trees, Medronho, Willow, Eucalyptus, Fruit trees and a diverse flora of shrubs and bushes. We also host a number of wild animals such as wild deer, foxes, mongoose and many birds.

At the moment we are looking for ongoing people to share the work we have as Margarida (my wife) is pregnant. We recently opened our project and need help with preparing workshops, making food, taking care of the animals, house sitting, land clearing, making wood, and so on...
To have a look at our project here is the Facebook page:
