This is a small family owned and operated grade A goat dairy, and artisan cheese making operation. We sell our products at farmer's markets, and to Local restaurants, and grocery stores.
We've been in operation since 2003, and are continually striving to upgrade our operation, and become for the most part, a self-sustaining farm.

Hi, I'm Eve. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I'm a single mom of a lovely 6 year old and in great need of some help with some projects.

I need a bit of construction work done. I know how to do all the work, just need a willing hand to help.
* replacing a spiral staircase (not as hard as it might sound)
* install rain barrels
* organize shed
*porch repairs
* cement board siding installation
* installing solar panels
* fence repairs

I'm also looking for somebody to stay and help with expanding the vegetable gardens. Also I'll be traveling and need somebody to look after my dog, cat, chickens and garden. The mulberries might come in while we are gone and we need you to help us pick and preserve them. If you are looking for solitude to write or paint, this might be the gig for you!

We live on 2 acres that border a marshy creek. We have muskrats and blue herons for neighbors!

I can offer you good company, a nice comfortable room, high speed Internet, no telev... more inside

Our farm is located one mile outside of beautiful downtown Lambertville, New Jersey. The farm borders the Delaware River in a picturesque country setting where New Jersey really does earn its moniker as "The Garden State."

The farm was named in the 1980's when it was an ostrich farm. Today we raise vegetables, herbs, flowers, mushrooms, and chickens.

We are very passionate about farming, food, nature, and sustainability, and these passions transcend into our preferred growing methods. We are a small farm, but we grow intensively and produce a lot of food per acre. We use permanent beds, and reduced tillage methods to take care of our land. We also have interns that work for us a few days a week that you will be spending time with as well. We would love to house passionate individuals who are interested in sharing skills, learning, and working hard. Volunteers can expect to learn about organic vegetable production, greenhouse management, hydroponic growing, tractor safety... more inside

We are the home of an intentional community and farm on 350 acres in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Organic practices have been used in fruit, vegetable, meat and egg production for the 40 years the Guild has been at its current rural location. We grow food for our community residents; supplying our CSA, and two local markets per week.
Farm hands predominantly work with vegetable propagation, aiding in all aspects of the farm from seed starting, transplanting, weeding and harvesting to cooking and preserving but are also encouraged to seek a range of experiences. You will be offered a day in craft from our pottery, wood, or fiber studios in conjunction with farm work.
We have THREE open positions for the 2015 season. We are seeking one individual mid May through mid October. With this position we offer a stipend of $50 per week in addition to room and board. This person would act as a team leader when the managers are not present and take on CSA pickup and/or Market ... more inside

This is a farmstay experience featuring farm to table dining, lodging, an art gallery, recreation trails, and educational activities. Our volunteers help us with all components our our business. This may include preparation of meals , care for livestock, light maintenance and repair, cleaning, and helping with guests and visitors. We have hosted volunteers for many years and are always appreciative of their assistance, but more importantly enjoy an opportunity to meet wonderful people from all over the world. Our lodging for volunteers is quite nice and we offer great localvore food. We have no rigid expectations in terms of volunteer hours. We just ask that everyone enthusiastically pitches in as part of our team.

I am a single Christian man of 25 years of age. I bought a house recently that is taking a lot of work to bring it to livable conditions. Carpentry, painting,finishing and wiring is very helpful. I am also trying to develop the small back yard into some intensive gardens as well as fruit so gardening experience is extremely helpful.
In exchange for helping around my place you would need to work approximately half a day or perhaps every other day. I am very flexible. You would be free to explore the city or do what you like.
I am very strong in my faith but have no problem accepting people of any religion. I am especially open to having people for short periods from 2 days up to perhaps up to a month. I usually have to work at my job some, but will be happy to hang out and show you around. If you are at all interested contact me and we can try to work something out!
I am of course very fluent in English and do quite well in German. I know a very small amount of Serbian/Bosnian/... more inside

I am working on a housing project on the West Side of Buffalo, NY. I am currently renovating a mid sized early 1900s house. Our vision is to have a functional, habitable house in 18 months. It will have at least four bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, and a large kitchen. It will be a communal home in many aspects. In addition, we have acquired three of the four vacant lots to the rear of the property. There is already a large garden, one bee hive, fruit trees, and a strawberry patch.
I'm looking for people who have experience with demo, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, siding, or none at all. I am more than willing to teach skills to interested folks.
Currently, we are working on installing radiant floor heating... very exciting!
There is also a garden that needs up keep and a rain water catchment system that needs some good ideas.
I am flexible with the number of work hours and length of stay. Every situation is different, email or call and we can work out the d... more inside

This place was established in 2000 as a wildlife refuge and sanctuary. It now also hosts both a working alpaca farm, and a newly forming 501-c-3 charity called Opera's Place - Sanctuary for Animals. Opera's Place specializes in alpacas and takes on special needs alpacas for such things as intensive physical therapy on occasion. A young alpaca female, Opera, suffered a serious stroke and was rehabilitated over many months with 7x/day p.t. She is the namesake for the new charity and Opera will always live on Moon Ivy Hill. There are also presently on the farm: donkeys, horses, a full sized 1000 lb. pig, a few chickens, four dogs and three cats. We currently have 26 alpacas here. There are five ponds on the property and a mix of fields and woodlands on rolling terrain. A program called "Intern to Learn," with a college approved syllabus and teaching everything one needs to know about how to operate a working alpaca farm has been conducted on the property and may be again (recession ... more inside

I am new to Helpx. I own a home in a very popular part of Philadelphia. I also own a artisan business a couple blocks away in which we make very fancy ornamental details for very fancy interiors. I have been too busy with my business. My home was renovated 8 years ago and I have not found the time to install my own fancy details.

I would love to host someone or a couple who knows basic carpentry and tile setting who could help me install wainscoting, ornamental plaster molding, tile.... I will also be casting cement counter tops for the kitchen. There are many projects to be finished including garden work and painting both interior and exterior. I will make the meals but I expect you to clean up after yourself!

The perks are; you will be staying in a very pretty home (which will be prettier after your stay) in a very popular part of the city. There are many restaurants , coffeeshop shops, music venues, historic attractions and museums within walking distance. This ... more inside
