Our farm is located at Merton in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges in North-East Victoria about 50 minutes drive from the snowfields of Mt Buller.
Merton is a small farming community with the tourist town of Mansfield about 30 minutes away by car. Three other country towns Alexandra, Yea and Euroa are a similar distance. Melbourne is just under two hours drive away. The area is extremely pretty with farms scattered among the rolling hills and the valleys. Merton village is very small with a few houses, an old church, one general store and a public recreation area that includes tennis courts.
Our farm offers a true piece of Australian rural life with more than 330 hectares where we breed Angus cattle and have a large assortment of chickens, ducks and geese, five dogs and a cat and our cows have calves at foot.
We also share the farm with numerous kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats, parrots and the occasional koala.
We also publish magazines including the North By N... more inside

ARE YOU AVAILABLE NOW or SOON?

We have an architect designed renovated, wooden 3 bedroom holiday house, within walking distance of Shoreham Beach (and Honeysuckle Beach).

This beautiful, comfortable and peaceful property, set within an acre of garden and bushland has a feeling of seclusion and space.

We are looking for a responsible, trustworthy, independent couple (minimum age 26) to help with a range of jobs, including painting, varnishing, cleaning and many things related to getting the house sorted for holiday stays. We seek people with DIY & painting experience - people who can whipper snip, mow the lawn and weed the garden. We are looking for people who have energy and enthusiasm & a good eye for detail. We have some extra furniture stored on the property that needs bringing up to the house (20metres away & nothing too heavy). The right couple will be given some independence at the property as we come and go. This also means that you can also cook for yourselves a... more inside

Originally from Melbourne i moved to the King Valley in 2007 to begin building a farm from a stump riddled harvested pine plantation.
With almost all the stumps now removed and nine kilometres of fencing dividing the property into sections i am able to run an assortment of animals including 70 goats , 15 Wessex saddleback pigs , two alpaca's and twenty Damara sheep , Dexter cattle, 17 holstien calves and
American Bison
Gardening is a passion of ours so we try and grow as much as we can or harvest from the wild many types of fruit as they become available in the local area .
There is plenty to do and see in this high rainfall , hilly wine growing region with rivers , snow , markets and a great social community holding regular get togethers.
