Victorian house with rambling garden, three miles from the charming old market town of Bridport, Dorset, and five miles from the world heritage Jurassic Coast. The countryside in West Dorset is exceptionally beautiful rolling hills and dairy farms.

We are a family with four kids (boys 15, 11, 10, and girl of 7). We are very busy with our business which manufactures artisanal gelato (ice cream) in a nearby factory using local organic milk and local fruit, often from our own garden. Our brand is Baboo Gelato, see www.baboogelato.com.

We have a 1,000 sq foot Coach House that is 50 metres from our house, with two bedrooms and a large play area with TV, PS4 etc. Helpers will stay in this building. We will provide meals. We speak English, Russian, French, and German, as well as some Spanish, Italian, and Bahasa Indonesia. Public transport is non-existent but we can give you lifts into town occasionally.

We are looking for helpers who can help us in our busy life, ... more inside

This project is an alternative education centre high in the Dartmoor National Park. We are a charitable trust in the process of gaining full charity status. We have a Permaculture, Well being and Arts focus, with a deep commitment to the Permaculture principles of Earth care, People care and Fair shares. We run a wide range of courses and events throughout the year and also welcome many venue hire groups to the centre too, some of which we cater for. We have a young Forest Garden and medicinal herb garden and a small amount of veg growing during the spring/summer and autumn months.
The work is very varied and dictated to a certain extent by what events and courses we are running. The centre is quite remote and sits right on the edge of open moorland and woodlands.Volunteers coming for more than a couple of weeks would benefit from having their own transport.
We currently have two long term volunteering opportunities available and some shorter stays are possible too.If you are inte... more inside

Hello, my husband and I live 3hrs North of Edinburgh, and 20min North of Inverness (Loch Ness) and have two children, the oldest child born July 2010 and the youngest child born Feb 2012. We are a very relaxed household and live on a family run farm.
We are looking for help with childcare, changeover of a 2bed Holiday Let and organic gardening in return for meals and accomodation. We can offer a very comfortable room with a super-king bed, TV/DVD, wireless internet and an en-suite bathroom.
We hope to find help from April 2016 - Sep 2016, for 2 month up to a year stay.
My husband is a manager on the farm and is very hands on with every aspect. As a family we are very keen on conservation and enjoy planting trees and creating native habitats. My interests include cooking, Contemporary Art, plants, practicing yoga and enjoying long walks daily. We generally live a simple life and enjoy growing vegetables in our polytunnel & garden.
We over look the Cromarty Firth and have beaut... more inside

Beautiful spot on Welsh farm house on ten acres of land. We are a same sex couple who home educate our child and one of us is chronically ill. As a result lots of things need doing, diy in and outside and gardening etc, but don't get done. We have a separate open plan annexe with double bed, kitchen and shower room on small Welsh mountain, amazing views, 1 hour from gower beaches. Carmarthenshire is the most beautiful secret in Wales.

We are not offering food as cooking etc would be too much burden, but we would be happy to let 1-2 people stay in the self contained annexe for one week at a time in exchange for 15 hrs work each.

Mobile reception is intermittent, there is a train to Ammanford, and whilst we are ten minutes from Ammanford town we are very rural and isolated bar a couple of neighbours. Access to the mountain and beautiful walks via our access path, views down to the sea on a clear day.

Need car to access town, could be picked up from train and could gadge l... more inside

We live in a beautiful 15th Century Tower house. It has 5 floors, with a room on each floor, 76 stairs and a dungeon! We heat the tower with geo-thermal heating and have both photo-voltaic solar panels and hot water panels. We have a woodland, polytunnel, chickens, ducks and 2 dogs. We have 4 children with one still living at home at the local high school. We are keen to create a situation where we can share our home and the beautiful Galloway countryside and at the same time have much needed help in our quite extensive garden. We have various sleeping arrangements. We have just completed building a garden room, which can sleep two. We also have a teepee tent which is lovely to sleep in and a room on the 2nd floor with a double bed. The shower/bath is in a shared room, but there is a toilet on the ground floor for everyone's use. The jobs that we will be looking to have help will be varied! We are constantly dealing with brambles that easily take over our woodland. I am trying to crea... more inside

We own three big buildings constructed 1840-1909, and we're pulling them out of dereliction.
Over the next few years there will be phases of glazing, internal and external carpentry, insulating (internally) roofing, general building, plastering, tiling and fitting new kitchens and bathrooms.

We have space to camp and a really good guest-room inside for a volunteer now. We'd like to meet people for just 2-5 days, and then get in touch afterwards saying if we'd like you back for a longer visit (maybe months) or not.

We have now got log-fired central heating, and a choice of outdoor compost loos or normal ones inside. We now have showers, and should have a bath by August 2016 :-) The river swim is ten minutes walk away, towards the border with Wales.

We're a housing co-op, so members all pay rent and share the decisions about how that rent is spent. We have a limited capacity for volunteers, but would like to welcome them for specific work times - particular forestry, dr... more inside

We live in a beautiful part of North Wales overlooking the Dee Valley. We have dogs, cats, and chickens, run a holiday cottage and small camp site.We also have a bunkhouse and Shepherds Hut.
We need help this summer with painting the window frames of our cottage. Experienced house painters preferred . Other urgent jobs include replacing a few stray slates on the roof, replacing a run of guttering, finishing tiling a shower cubicle and refelting a stable block. Pleant to keep experienced builders happy!
We would require a working week of approx 30 hours. We are early risers and start work after breakfast.
We are a non-smoking household so smokers need not apply. We are also a meat eating household so although vegetarians are welcome this could cause difficulties as there are no facilities for preparing your own food Shower room and toilets on site.We would need to discuss this on application.

The Space
The annexe is a lovely light and airy space, with a separate kitchen and bathroom. It is south west facing, so has lovely views of the sunsets.
It has a boot room for muddy boots and wet coats, plus a great lobby to pop your bags/cases in or bikes if you wish! There is plenty of wardrobe space too. You are completely private from the main house and in an amazing area to explore the delights of Dartmoor and surrounding area, not to mention beaches on both the north and south coasts.
You are welcome to park in our driveway right by the annexe, which is to the left of the main house. It is secluded and safe to leave a car.
This is a lovely location to take some time out and explore Devon. The Granite way is a 5-minute cycle from the door, winding it's way to Lydford. This 12km ride offers unrivalled views of the moors from the Meldon Viaduct. Long walks and cosy village pubs are less than a 10-minute drive, and the coast is a mere 40 minutes to one-hours simple journey aw... more inside
