We are located 19 km north of Playa del Carmen (15-20 minutes by car or bus), 7 km south of Puerto Morelos (10-15 minutes by car or bus), and 37 km south of Cancun International Airport, (30 minutes by bus). There is bus transportation to and from Cancun, Puerto Morelos or Playa del Carmen on the main highway, 5am-12am every day, even Sundays. The waiting time is 20-25 minutes.

The little Rustic ambiance farm is about 1 km west of the main highway. It is located within the jungle and has a friendly, rustic ambiance. We started our project in 2009. We grow organic vegetables and are in the process of planting fruit trees. We raise birds, chickens, geese, turkeys and fish. We also have some very nice and friendly dogs that we have rescued from the street and from ex-owners abuse. We find homes for them after they have been spayed and neutered. Very often we see wild monkeys in the trees. We have a small cabana with all the basic services that are available to share.
We provide veg... more inside

We have bitten off more than we can chew. We work long hours in Playa del Carmen and stay there more than commuting the hour back and forth each way, to and from our place in Cancun. That schedule has recently changed, but has been going on for 4 years. We need your help getting it cleaned up.
We have 1 private and 3 semi-private guest rooms with beds and bedding. Bring lock for your private locker. Shared bathrooms & showers (3/3). Great food!
We look forward to meeting you, learning from you, teaching you, completing something with you and having you back again for help with general maintenance and for good times
What else ...
Cultural experiences! We like our experiences here and that is why we stay.
Our neighbors are mostly vacation homes of Mexican Nationals as well as international owners who employ Mexican and Mayan caretakers. These guys and/or families have been here for years. They are loyal and love to talk, teach and share and meet new people. A animal zoo within ... more inside

This farm is located in the southern mountains of Oaxaca, next to the "Rana" river and one hour away from Puerto Escondido, in San Gabriel Mixtepec. Rancho El Sagrado is a familiar project with the aim to create a sustainable coffee farm. Now we are recovered from the big natural punch "huracan Carlotta", thanks to the work of volunteers and family, now were focused in the plan for the next years, unfortunately Lalo is out of the ranch for some time so the volunteer program is suspended at the moment. But Doña Sol will be really happy to receive you as visitors, and if your spanish is good maybe you can arrange with her some work in the farm. For reservations visit our web site.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INTEREST.

Volunteers welcome! Needed! Appreciated, Loved ;)

We are a little project that strives to learn, share, construct, teach each other and be around interesting people in a friendly working and inventing environment with great leisure times and places to visit.
there are two active sub-projects:

1. We try to help make technology work for us! In the last two years (from a single to a bunch of volunteers and 'associates'), we've done over a dozen solar dehydrators, an awesome 20usd (250pesos) home solar shower, a beautiful piza oven+dehydrator... over the last two years all experimental... and its awesome to see what comes out of team and individual work ;) Additionally, all we make is made from half-recycled materials and is crafted with the most available resources (such as energy, knowledge, skills, materials, etc.)! At the moment, we are wrapping up a solar dehydrator prefab model! Part of what we do, is to design, to make them, test them and, in order to make this susta... more inside

We are working to develop the organic farming, therefore chemich free nutrition in the zone. So we work with the local producers and agricultures consolidating their products and deliverying them to the families interested in a chemich free, local nutrition. We also work with mayan communities, doing workshops to improve their horchards with organic principles. We explore the zone to find the natural, local, ancestral agriculture.
In the heart of the cenotes route we have our own horchard, wich needs to get up and running. So people with experience on working the land is needed. Composting, planting, germinating, harvesting, maintaining are some of the things that need to be done.
There is a palapa and the kitchen is finished. It is a beautiful magestic place, because is the jungle. Sometimes we are lucky and the monkeys show up.
It is quite, there is no internet or phone lines.
In Puerto Morelos, we deliver the Community Organic Baskets in trycicles. We set mini markets in dif... more inside
