Drystock farm, running 15 nurse cows plus calves, 60 ewes,2 sows and one boar,1 wild horse and a donkey; have choocks and ducks and some fallow deer.Need help with fencing, vege garden, tidy up and planting wet lands, as well as normal farm duties-feeding out, shifting stock and electric fences etc. I prefer females as I am a single divorced woman and accommodation is in my house. I prefer a non smoker, someone who loves cats and baby animals. There could be orphans in boxes in the kitchen for reviving! It can get a bit messy.5 cats live with me on and off so don't come if you are allergic to cats.I like making sausages and my own salted and cured meats as well as my own cider and alcoholic ginger beer. Now I am experimenting with fermented food. I am German, have been living here since 30 years.Farm is 25 km away from Whitianga and Hot Water Beach, so own car would be advantage. It is pretty isolated here and I am not going to town that often, have a lot of DVDs for people to watch an... more inside

We have a lifestyle block in the Kauaeranga valley that requires some attention removing pest plants such as gorse and wolley nightshade and possibly some work in the vegetable garden. I'm thinking a couple of weeks maybe longer would be good but if you can only do a few days thats good as well, 3 to 4 hours a day but flexible if you want to do extra one day and have a day off the next thats ok. I will work alongside you so we can get these jobs cleared and still be smiling at the end :)

If this sounds like the sort of work you are willing able and happy to do we can provide good meals and comfortable spare room in our family home. We also have a sauna and spa pool you're welcome to use. We don't take life too seriously so a good sense of humour will help :D
We are located by the river great for swimming and close to many walking and bike tracks not far to the beach for that day off!

Must be good around animals we have dogs, cats, cows and sheep.
must be non smoker.

This is a 1.7 acre property in a secluded valley 5 minutes out of Thames. We have two small orchards, lawns and some flower gardens. The property is in a very peaceful and safe location. We need help with gardening, weeding, mowing lawns, cleaning and also, if the helper is skilled in this area, small painting and carpentry jobs.

We offer free accommodation and all meals in exchange for 3 hours work a day. Thames is situated at the base of the Coromandel peninsula. It is a vibrant and thriving small town close to beaches, bush, walks and a bike trail. We have some rather vintage bikes you can borrow, but there is also an electric bike hire business in town. We are also open to longer term stays with additional paid work if that works out.

We are an small orchard (apples, pears, feijoa, apricot, avocado and peach to name a few), many chickens and ducks, and a few sheep. The property has been rather neglected prior to us moving here and we are trying to make improvements so that trees and animals have a better future. We have two medium sized dogs who love to meet new people, and two cats.

We are very close to the Kopu-Paeroa Hauraki Cycle Trail. Nearby is the Matatoki Cheese Barn. On the fringe of the Coromandel Peninsula we are well situated as a base for people who want to do day trips both north around the Peninsula, East to Whangamata and South to Paeroa, Waihi, Katikati and Tauranga. It is just over an hour to Auckland, Hamilton or a bit further to Mount Maunganui.

If you have any experience with orchards, poultry or just happy to get your hands dirty we would love to hear from you. We prefer non-smoking. Social drinking ok.

In return we can offer you

We are a Swiss/Kiwi family, love and appreciate nature and what is has to offer. Our aim is to live in a mindful and sustainable way. We have a five year old boy, an Australian Terrier a few chickens and two very friendly kune kune pigs.

On our property, we have two cottages we rent out as a relaxed stay or retreat, an organic orchard with about 200 fruit trees, an organic garden and a little shop with organic and homemade produce.

For the period of January 22th to February 7th, 2018 we are looking for an Au-Pair kind of person who would like to look after our boy before and after School/Preschool as well as managing the accommodation and helping with the household tasks and plum harvest.

Are you at least 25 years old, non-smoking, you can take over responsibilities and work independently, you love to play with children and you are respectful and tidy?
You have a drivers license and your own car? Please contact us! We are looking forward to meeting you.

Hello, we're Clive & Shena!

In the heart of the beautiful Coromandel bush ~ Our riverside garden with numerous swimming holes is home to many native birds - we hear kiwi most nights!
Neighbouring national forest and next door to the Rapaura Watergardens, down the road from the Square Kauri, countless bush walks, and only minutes from the pohutukawa coast. Continue on our road to Hot water Beach, Cathedral Cove, Whitianga etc.

Looking for help with gardening, painting and general outdoor work.

For four hours work we will exchange a comfortable, private, studio, self-contained with bathroom.
Limited Wifi available, and one healthy evening meal a day ~ friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

You'll need to be independent, and have your own transport as we are a fairly remote location.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Our land is nestled in a subtropical coastal valley, 30 minutes north of Colville Store, with the driveway and front paddock directly off the beach front at Sandy Bay, Port Charles. Self reliant people with a keen willingness to contribute to on-going projects are welcomed.

I am a researcher, writer and poet, my other daily activities include gardening and household duties. I am particularly looking for carpentry and maintenance assistance.

Because of the nature of my own work, I can only offer short term periods of hosting to suitable travelers.

This house and surrounding area has a view looking out toward Great Barrier Island and over the valley, which is part bush, part orchard and farmland with a friendly heresford herd and a few dairy cows.

We live just up in the hills above the centre of Thames, which is an easy short walk into town. Our house was originally built in the Art Deco style in the 1940's but has been moderised. The house sits in private and beautiful grounds (potentially much tidier) which are bounded by a pretty stream along one side. We are part time teachers, and artists specialising in ceramics and painting and have our own workshop on site.
At present we need help to get the garden in order, to complete minor renovations on the house. We are vegetarian and expect that our helpers respect this and eat as we do while at our house. This a non smoking household. We would like 4 hours of help a day for every 5 out of 6 days or pro-rata for shorter or longer stays; but this is flexible, in return for 3 meals a day and a comfortable bed with bedding. We can accommodate a single person.

Lots of outdoors activities to do on the Coromandel, many require a car ride. Check out Coromandel on the internet.1 a... more inside
